Of course you can. Serious here? You can recruit someone to being gay?
i was recruited to 'hetero' by my friend Yogi back in the third grade ... never gave girls a second thought 'til he taught me the ol' - drop pencil, look up skirt - shtickYou can recruit someone to being gay?
Depends on your definition of 'gay' really. But the short answer is yes, peer pressure and influence can make a difference in someone es sexual expression. Some studies have shown even more so with young women that they are much more open to lesbian and bisexual sexual expression than men, even many who would identify as straight. You can recruit someone to being gay?
Post #1065 by you that is 100% enhanced by your avatar.Having researched many sorority hazing videos I can confirm that girls get "recruited"
When you asked at what age young lesbians started recruiting other young girls yes.James Daulton said:I'm douching up the conversation? You implied that high level teen basketball girls were turning each other gay. It's ridiculous.
And since you're such an expert on the subject, I guess that 98% of Division 1 women's basketball teams are gay too? Since that's where the WNBA gets its players from.
Look at it from the other side. Look how many moronic parents try to put their gay kids through conversion therapy. The fact that it happens is not an argument into the validity of it. I dont think he was bringing up the recruitment parties to argue that it makes the high percentage of gay women in basketball. I think he was using it to illustrate that there is in fact pressure. You can recruit someone to being gay?
So the people ITT are saying that people who would normally be straight can be turned and stay gay? Perhaps for a small percentage but I just don't believe it for the vast majority of people who are gay.Depends on your definition of 'gay' really. This is very true. It's an underground hip hop thing, even. Called: just give them a nudge.Depends on your definition of 'gay' really. But for the WNBA to be 98% gay, they'd have had to have stayed gay. The only reason I posted in this topic to begin with was this ridiculous assertion. This is very true. It's an underground hip hop thing, even. Called: just give them a nudge.
Women tend to be a bit more lesbian in their youths than men are homosexual.
And I'm well aware that it's hip (and awesome) for chicks to kiss and whatnot, but certainly not to turn gay. This is very true. It's an underground hip hop thing, even. Called: just give them a nudge.

I agree. 98% is a ludicrous figure. Wasn't arguing that. But for the WNBA to be 98% gay, they'd have had to have stayed gay. The only reason I posted in this topic to begin with was this ridiculous assertion.
Exactly my thoughts. Some people ITT seemed intent on somehow "proving" that the 98% was possible or even reasonable.I agree. 98% is a ludicrous figure. Wasn't arguing that.
eta* 98% is so stupid, I can't believe it's taken seriously. But there is a lot of lesbianism in the WNBA, and that may be her broader point, which actually is hurt by the exaggeration of the figure. She could have said 40-50% and been credible.
Not to be a PITA and off topic but what does this mean? She's spoken pretty regretfully of her pastAlso, the lead abortionist bisexual is Nicki Minaj. Just read the name aloud.
It means I had a conversation with a young woman the other night who liked Nicki and whom I suspect is going through similar issues. Not to be a PITA and off topic but what does this mean? She's spoken pretty regretfully of her past

No. You seem to equate 'current sexual expression' with 'immutable sexual identity.'So the people ITT are saying that people who would normally be straight can be turned and stay gay? Perhaps for a small percentage but I just don't believe it for the vast majority of people who are gay.
Her dad was Alan Wiggins? Maybe having your dad die of AIDS skews your perception a bit.Short Corner said:Straight out of La Jolla. Pops played for the Pads.
I don't think so. If 98% of the WNBA player are gay, that's a far cry from current sexual expression, yes?No. You seem to equate 'current sexual expression' with 'immutable sexual identity.'
Reminds me of the list of my ex-girlfriends.James Daulton said:98% lesbian? Methinks she's exaggerating this just a tad.
Yes. And I don't think it's 98%. And of those players that are 'gay' some % of them won't stay 'gay'.I don't think so. If 98% of the WNBA player are gay, that's a far cry from current sexual expression, yes?
And folks would have you believe that peer pressure is always bad.Yes. And I don't think it's 98%. And if those players that are 'gay' some % of them won't stay 'gay'.
But... I bet it's way higher than a random sampling of women in this country of the same age. And I also don't doubt the notion that young women could become 'gay' at least for a period of time based on peer pressure.
