Miami Offensive Playbook - How far along do you think Chad is? (1 Viewer)

I really enjoyed watching Miami this past week. I feel like they are getting back on track eventhough they still have a long road ahead.

How much of the playbook do you think is installed by now? I am curious if anyone thinks that Fasano's targets are a result of Pennington's lack of time with the playbook.

Thanks..

Yup. He clearly stopped at the chapter "When in doubt, throw it to a TE".

Chad's armstrength is absolutely terrible. As a jets fan, I love the guy. THe consumate professional, teammate, coach on the field, etcetcetc. His armstrength after his shoulder injuries is just horrendous. It was never that great to begin with. So get used to the TE targets. He is still accurate as all hell, and can read defenses. Just can't go deep. The smarter Ds just bunch up on him, making him extremely ineffective. Against better Ds, he will be terrible, because they'll bunch up on those TEs, and he'll have to look elsewhere. His armstrength won't allow him to go elsewhere. Ginn is absolutely worthless in that O. I think the TE(s) are servicable, but thats about it. They have less talent than the jets did last year, and good Ds shut him the hell down...

Interesting. From that perspective, do you think the Jets D should be disappointed / concerned with its Week 1 performance?

Absoluitely. I was highly disappointed in them. All this talk about how Chad knows the jets, and will ahve shared that info with his teammates etcetcetc is all good, but the Jets know exactly what Chad is about, and should have shut them down to nothing but fieldgoals. He got a lot of production on those short passes, especially to the TEs. Granted we have a lot of new faces, new scheme, and one of our corners wa out, but highly disappointing nonetheless. Wait till you see Pats/Miami. I wouldn't be uncomfortable at all betting that they get shut out. On a positive note though, what I am saying played itself out on the last offensive play for the Fins. Jets D tightened up, and he tried to go into the endzone in what amounted to a 'pop up' throw, which was very well defended and intercepted...

Ahh....that's the Chad we all know and love.

this thread title is misleading, I thought it was in reference to Chad Henne... :lmao:

at some point this season, if the Fish are 0-6, lets say, I'd imagine they'll get Henne involved , sooner rather than later..

:goodposting:
