I'll be following along but I'm going to sit this one out. I have two trips planned in May/June and just won't be able to give it proper attention. I do have an artist in mind for #6 if it doesn't get picked for this one.

If I do one it'll be Sturgill Simpson, but a similar dynamic is why I'm on the fence. When I'm working May-July, I'm in the office much more than the rest of the year and can more easily listen to new music, but I take a lot of time off and it's not to lounge around the house.

Hugh Dillon.

I ended up with 56 songs on my rough draft list and then exactly 31 songs on the second pass, so it's meant to be; ALTHOUGH, my list is devoid of any material from Hard Core Logo. Can any of you Spotify subscribers tell me if they have individual cuts from the soundtrack? If they do, I'll consider making some adjustments, but maybe instead we can have a Saturday movie night along the way and let Hard Core Logo stand on its own.

Looks like this.

Summary of pick from Grok:

He founded Flashover Recordings in 2005, nurturing new talent and releasing his own work. Known for his high-energy live performances, he’s played at major festivals like Tomorrowland and Ultra Music Festival. Corsten also hosts the radio show Resonation, connecting with fans globally. Over three decades, he’s remained influential, adapting to electronic music’s shifts while staying true to his melodic roots, earning awards like DJ Mag’s Top 100 and a lasting legacy in dance music.

I believe Oz tried a similar trick, but found the dynasty trades thread instead :)

:lmao: I posted this in the wrong thread earlier today.

Is it too early for a brief ChatGPT generated write up and a few covers? None of these will be on the top 31.

Caroline Esmeralda van der Leeuw, born on April 26, 1981, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, is a distinguished Dutch singer renowned for her contributions to pop and jazz music. She is best known by her stage name, Caro Emerald. Emerald’s musical journey began at age 12 when she commenced singing lessons under the guidance of James Gilloffo. She later joined the vocal group Les Elles and pursued jazz studies at the Amsterdam Conservatory, graduating in 2005.

In 2009, Emerald gained prominence with her debut single “Back It Up,” followed by “A Night Like This,” which reached the top of the Dutch charts. Her debut album, Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor, released in January 2010, achieved remarkable success, spending 30 consecutive weeks at number one in the Netherlands and surpassing Michael Jackson’s Thriller record. In October 2010, she was honored with the Edison Award for Best Female Artist.

Emerald’s second album, The Shocking Miss Emerald, was released in 2013, debuting at number one in both the Dutch and UK album charts and selling over 600,000 copies. However, as time passed, she began to feel disconnected from the Caro Emerald persona, stating that it had become “larger than herself.” This realization led to her decision to move away from this image and explore new musical directions.

In 2022, Caroline van der Leeuw introduced a new musical project under the moniker The Jordan. This transition marked a significant shift in her career, allowing her to reinvent her sound and artistic identity. The Jordan’s debut album, Nowhere Near the Sky, was released on February 10, 2023, under Cooking Vinyl. Van der Leeuw expressed enthusiasm about this fresh start, acknowledging the challenges of leading the project but expressing pride in the final result.

Throughout her career, Caroline van der Leeuw has demonstrated remarkable versatility and resilience, evolving from the jazz-pop stylings of Caro Emerald to the innovative sounds of The Jordan. Her journey reflects a commitment to artistic growth and authenticity, continually seeking to connect with audiences through her evolving musical expressions.
