Mike Vick is hosting a Super Bowl party (1 Viewer)

I've been hard on Vick and he'll need to do a LOT more to convince me he's a changed man, but I have to give him credit for the way he handled this Super Bowl stuff. As N Zone mentioned, Vick didn't attend that party and tried to get his name disassociated with it to boot, but he did attend the aforementioned children's charity event. That's pretty damn impressive. Equally so was how logical and gracious he was about the franchise tag. How many guys complain about the "audacity" of team's using their tag on them? Meanwhile Vick just said it's a dream come true, that he's blessed and how could he possibly look at a franchise tag as anything but great news considering where he came from two years ago. :goodposting:

Gotta agree with this.I know many didn't feel him hosting a Super Bowl party was a big deal but his decisions since that story broke speak just as loudly as throwing the party would have in the other direction.

He attended our party for Dallas area teens just now. He signed tons of footballs and jerseys, and delivered an amazing message to the kids. He was given the key to the city of Dallas by the mayor, and was extremely gracious.I have been adamantly against the guy for a long time, but he earned a lot of respect from me today. This was out of the goodness of his heart. Not for any cash or endorsement purposes - just to have a forum to speak with kids. He was awesome.

The speech in the link above has gotten over 80,000 hits on youtube. All because the deputy mayor gave Mike Vick the keys to the city of Dallas. The youtube video appeared all over the Internet including on Yahoo! sports. It was also shown on CNN today (http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/02/08/dallas-official-under-fire-for-giving-vick-key-to-city/?iref=allsearch). Pretty cool to see something on CNN that was filmed on my flip video camera. Lots of great mentions of our company too. Many thanks to the deputy mayor for all the free publicity! For what its worth at this point, Michael did not appear at any other Super Bowl parties all weekend. He was scheduled to appear at a club on Saturday night at a party hosted by the same guys that hosted this teen party, and he did not show up. The right call imo.

Vick just won Comeback Player of the Year. He was asked on NFL Network live in Dallas with Steelers fans cheering him, about hosting a Super Bowl party. Vick responded he tried to disassociate his name from it, and wasn't able to, and that he did not attend the party.

Wow, that's great. Thanks for sharing that. I'm a big fan of Vick, always have been.
Video will be on ESPN's Outside the Lines today at 3 EST.
