btw- been humming that joe jackson tune to myself ever since seeing it picked.

been a joe jackson kick since the last draft... and I was a giant fan during his first 5 albums

They opened for REM on the Fables of Reconstruction tour. The show was at the Raleigh Civic Center. I had to leave during REM's first encore cause there was a joint being passed around, and I smoked some, and I got very dizzy. Alcohol + pot does not mix well with me. It gives me the spins. Anyway, I went outside and puked in the bushes.  :X  I'm not sure why I didn't go in the bathroom. I guess I felt like I had to get out of there. 

 
As I was expecting, a lot of songs and artists that I don't recognize are being picked. Looking forward to giving them all a sample.

I get the same way. Had to quit a long time ago because of it.

By the way, it's always time to get out of an REM show.

I've been off for about a month, it ####### blows.. been worried about some potential testing at work, new contracts.. I guess I might be clean about now

Currently downing a bottle of vino.  I got a cortisone shot in my hand earlier and it hurts like a B.

I sprained it at the knuckle of my middle finger, 5-6 months ago and it never got better.  The doc said it just takes forever for those to heal and the shot should ultimately help :shrug:  I'm just glad I don't need surgery (hopefully)

I sprained my elbow this past summer, and it took months to heal. I still feel pain in it now and then.

 
Our pot laws are in the process of changing here. It's on the way to being legal but isn't there yet. That hasn't stopped dispensaries from opening.  There are dozens in Toronto. The big national "chain" (20 dispensaries) had its two owners arrested and all shops raided and shut down today.

I don't know where I stand on it, like it's going to be legal and should be legal but it's probably not going to be sold in the manner these shops are selling it, so they're not legal but it's only not being sold that way because the government wants to control the sales and tax the crap out of it but it's Canada and we need lots of tax money for all our free Healthcare and stuff, so basically :shrug:

oh- weird... my post came across differently than I meant.

I was and still am a big JJ fan... but had kinda put him in the background for the last bunch of years. your pick in the last draft made me remember how much I loved his early stuff especially... so I'VE been on a big JJ kick since then. Thank you for that- no apologies needed... the opposite! Have some of his stuff stashed away for this draft too...

Yeah, we have Kevin O'Leary making a push for the Conservative party leadership. Reality TV right wing blowhard. We have another woman vying for it who has been very pro-Trump, wants to do a citizenship test etc.. who for a time was seen as a viable option but seems to have fallen out of favour.\

As a country, we're probably 60/40 or 65/35 in favour or liberal/left wing views but there are two parties on the left and one on the right, so vote splitting/strategic voting play way more of a factor than they probably should.

We are a bunch of old farts in here.  Same with me - had tennis elbow from WTF knows what over the summer (probably from picking up the toddler), and it still is lingering.

Costello has hundreds of songs and used tens of thousands of words in his long career.  He definitely has written a lot more songs with one word titles than 6+ ones.  He didn't write this one of course but I've always loved this track.  It's one of those songs that gets better the louder you play it.  

I guess there's some kind of thematic link from this to Bonzo Goes to Bitburg but there's no way I'll be able to find 18 more songs like these.
