I am in the process of keeping the draft info in two places, one is the Spreadsheet that you all see, and another is a simple DB because it gives me better access to the data. It gives me the ability to do things like the 'Stats' page of the SS that shows the numbers of words of our picks (this will be better as the rounds go on). The stats are thru the second round.

I am working on getting things like the picks by band in an easily transferable form.

Tasker taking female led artpop no one else has ever heard of.

Zilla taking metal bands no one has thought of in 30 years. 

NV getting drunk and posting at all hours.

 
I think 10am est is a good time to start the timer.  I think there are a couple of west coasters and a weirdo like Marco who come in to like a post, but don't draft, but otherwise most are ready to go in the morning.  ;)

So timer is ON!!

 
What are opinions on this draft for the weekend and sniping?   We usually do the one pick free for all each day, but I didn't know if there would be more sniping in this format and we just just keep chugging on in order w/o a timer.

Once a weekend works best for me - I don't care about sniping - it's tough to keep checking in.

I like a pick for each weekend day, but I don't care if it is one pick for the whole weekend. I also don't care about sniping.

 
Looks like there are a fair # of likes for just doing a pick a day on the weekend.  So we will see where we are at towards the end of the day, try to finish up that round, and then do one pick FCFS on Saturday and one on Sunday.  Draft order will begin again on Monday am with the timer.

Today my biggest care is about a cat named Jerry. He is a feral cat I take care of. Back in 2014, an organization and I got together and trapped over 30 feral colony cats. The place that fixed them would only do so if I agreed to take care of them, and of course pay to have it done. Being the soft hearted fool that I am, I agreed to it. I raised a big part of the money for their fixings from this very site. I've kept my end of the bargain, but it can be tough. There are still about 26 cats still alive. Most recently, I lost one, Clio, last week from getting hit by a car. I lost two in October. One (Low-Rider) we think licked up anti-freeze and died of poisoning, and the other (Tiger Lily/Loretta) just vanished. Something bad happened to her. She was Jerry's girl. Anyway, Jerry has a UTI. I noticed last night he kept trying to pee again and again. He, and two others, will let me pet them, but only on their terms. I can't pick him up. A vet that used to work for the SPCA, and who fixed some of the colony prior to the mass trappings, gave me some antibiotics to give him, but if he is plugged, he has to be helped by a vet or he will die. I can't tell if he is plugged. He will only pee at least 15 feet from me, and it rained last night, and it started raining this afternoon when I went to find him at lunch. Luckily he showed up this afternoon when I called him, and I was able to crush an antibiotic in some tuna, and he ate it. He wouldn't take a pill pocket. Tonight all the cats will be out, and it will be harder to separate him, and I hope he will eat the tuna again with the antibiotic. It is supposed to snow tomorrow night. If he is plugged, I can't catch him in a regular trap, because he is too smart for that. I can catch him in a drop trap, and I don't know if the vet who gave me the antibiotic has hers with her. I don't know what I'm going to do, but it is frustrating and sucks. Jerry is my bud. Oh, I also spilt tuna juice all over my pants when I was out there at the colony, and I now smell like a can of Starkist.  :(

Well, ####, aren't I the #######. 

I am a cat guy - I think what you are doing is great and I hope the best for Mr. Jerry (love the names, btw).  I assume you have a farm/big barn that these guys are running around?  What's the diff b/t the normal trap and a drop trap to get him loaded up?

A great song from one of Manchester's finest post-punk bands.  I don't recall ever drafting it before although we've done a lot of drafts.   I'm either righting a longstanding injustice or plowing the same field again.

I'm still out to lunch on mix ideas but this is the kind of track that can be used as a transition...I guess.
