karma police- your mix was a little jarring on shuffle play(only option on free mobile version) ..dug the bluesy/classic rock parts of your mix and even enjoyed the thing that only eats hippies. Never really got into punk-guess i'm not angry or drunk enough.

best track I never heard before was the arctic monkeys-may explore these guys some more.

Heh... I figured Grease songs weren't high on anyone's draft list. This would've been my mix if I could guarantee no snipes and the "Want" theme. I *think* only 3-4 were sniped... but that would've been enough to force me to start taking multiple Ramones songs or some random kid/Xmas songs.

Overcompensating

Considering the theme here is known (6+, under 3 minutes) I can't really say anything you don't already know. People have said much better things about short, quick songs than I ever could, so it would seem hubristic to even try. So I'll simply say that I love the conciseness, sequencing, pacing, and pretty much everything about this mix. It screams Friday night more than Wednesday morning to me. I can picture myself sitting around with friends with this on in the background, drinking and playing quarters or something when Sleater-Kinney's "I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone" comes on with the "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" chorus coming in while my friends and I sit at attention for a second or two. I knew a lot of these so I'm able to actually think about order on this one, and it's pretty darn good also. It's a singles mix, it would seem, and most of them work really well.

I love the Buzzcocks, Black Flag, Talking Heads, Circle Jerks, The Kinks (All Day and All Of The Night has seen many a mixtape I've personally made) and stuff like that already so the personal finds here are:

5 - Neil Young - What Did You Do To My Life? 

I generally don't like Neil Young, so this was cool, for lack of a better word

4 - CCR - It Came Out Of The Sky

Kind of a rollicking good tune, eh? I like CCR, had never heard this one.  

3) Muddy Waters - You Can't Lose What You Never Had 

Dig it. I don't really like trad. blues, but this was cool

2) Sonic Youth - In The Mind Of The Bourgeois Reader

I like Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star but I hadn't really listened to this one because by the time I get there, I'm stuck on Bull in The Heather repeatedly. This was cool to hear in a sort of isolated setting

1) Sleater - Kinney - I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone 

This is a band I never gave a chance. I don't know; you'd think a band that cribbed the cover of the Kink Kontroversy would appeal to me, but somehow they never did. This song simply rocks. Ramones-y with screaming vocals in the chorus? It doesn't get much better. 

Cool job, KP. Loved it. Right up my alley.

Sleater-Kinney is a band I am definitely late to the game for.  I think they are a band that I started listening to because of these drafts.  Not sure if it was due to somebody drafting them for a mix or from stumbling onto songs for research (probably a combo of both).  Now they are one of my go-tos for listening to and for these drafts.

I really appreciate his eclectic tastes and really really enjoyed this mix. I will likely listen to this one again when I want to drink some whiskey or wine and relax. I will however skip over two songs that didn't really fit the mood of the mix, and frankly I just didn't like - the Hotelier and BJ the Chicago Kid tracks.

Why Do Fools Fall in Love? should get move love than it does historically.

The mix also helped reaffirm the musical genius of Tom Waits, Jack White and Bob Dylan. Man, those guys can write songs and their vocals may not be pristine but they sure are identifiable and memorable.

A good mix of punk(ish) and classic rock - I was familiar with about 80-85% of the music. Good to hear some Hank, even though I'm actually more of a Rollins Band fan than Black Flag.

Bands that I never made an effort to listen to that I now think I really should: Buzzcocks, Sleater-Kinney, The Hold Steady and Artic Monkeys (especially the last two). Great stuff on this mix by those bands,

I suggested AM for the album if you liked that song to RW, and for The Hold Steady I personally am hit or miss with them, but Boys and Girls in America is easily one of my favorite albums of the last decade or so, and that's the album of theirs that song came from.

Copy and paste the link into the search box on the desktop app - that list will pop up.  Follow to put in playlists bucket.  That was how it worked for my on Windows 10.

On to the dal phan boys. It got off to a great start with the beatles( I'm stuck with shuffle) and filled with songs and bands I know and like.twice I had to look and see who I was listening to. I thought john pine was bob dylan and sadler vaden was tom petty but liked both. the other 2 tracks i never heard before(grace potter and lucero) were both good.

it also helped that you had 1 of my secret loves on here-hair metal ballads

The Lone Bellow record is really good. That's not their best song but one that fits the parameters. They are very country-ish (although I'm pretty sure they are from Brooklyn), but I dig them.

Had heard the Lucero "Zevon" song on satellite radio before, great concept and like it a lot.

Not a huge fan of the 80s Lauper and Turner tandem in the middle but a ton of classics and great songs.

(What's So Funny 'Bout) Six World Song Titles

Putting the mid-tempo English in mid-tempo English, I really enjoyed this. Lots of love songs, which is never a bad thing in my book. It's a bit out of my comfort zone, and I can drift off and get easily bored to music like this, but I really dug some of the harmonies and the songcraft that went into these songs. I can't tell Eephus anything he don't already know so I'll just list the tracks I liked that were new to me. I'm not about to rank order or to list the Ramones or Elvis Costello or Black Rebel Motorcycle Club or the Orwells because i'd already heard all these bands. Anyway, these were the new (to me) artists' songs I liked the best, in descending order.

5) Billy Bragg - Waiting For The Great Leap Forwards

He's saying "great leap forwards?" Holy crikey. I knew of Billy Bragg, just never listened to him. Nice touch to put this at the end of the mix. Next draft, please.

4) Magazine - The Light Pours Out of Me

Really surprised how much I liked this and how good I thought it was. Cool title, too.

Notes: Freakin' cool mix, man. Um, just really cool to listen from start to finish...the soul and R&B stuff from tracks 12-16 were awesome but what really surprised me were the Floyd, Hawkwind, and Priest stuff. Normally I don't like proggy or trad. metal, but those songs were all really good.  Mudhoney was my favorite band my last two years in high school, so of course i loved Sweet Young Thing...

Beasties are awesome. I've loved that song since I first heard it in '90...Sparks I've heard before but never bothered to let it play through. Loved the end...with a flourish...disco with Maxine Nightingale...Psychedelia hard stuff with the Beatles...just cool all the way through. A mix that you actually really want to listen to. 

Song of mix for me? Probably the Floyd or, as you pointed out during the draft, a song you just liked...He's Sure The Boy I Love.

I can see how those 2 songs and the Taking Back Sunday jump out as being out of style. Thought process was all songs about bad relationships or relationships gone bad. The kind of songs you'd stay up all night drinking too. I wanted a little more variety and energy in the mix so that's where the Hotelier and TBS come in- the furious anger that a heartbreak can bring. 

Glad you enjoyed most of it though. I actually thought there were other songs that people might find too bizarre.

I've spotted a mysterious white cat three times in the last month. It runs when it sees me. I don't know if it is a dump off or what. I pray it is a male. If it keeps coming around, I'll eventually have to try and trap it, but it has to form a pattern for me to do that. 

I spotted this white cat for the first time at the end of January when I was at the colony later than usual. It was running through the storage units lot, and I didn't see it again until recently when I have been out there late again. Evidentally it has been coming out at night. I saw white cat last week right before dark trying to eat the feral food, but one of the ferals (Jamie) chased it off. I spotted white cat again Sunday night at 7:30 slipping through a fence behind the liquor store, and then strolling towards the cat shack. It ran when it saw me. Monday I decided to set a trap behind the liquor store to see if it would come out again around that time. I sat in my car keeping my head low so it wouldn't spot me.  At 7:35 the cat appeared, and went in the trap! It freaked out like they always do when the trap closes, but later it tried to smell my hand through the trap, and the next morning it let me scratch the side of its face through the trap. That isn't the usual behavior of a wild feral, and so I called Dr. East and she took the cat. The cat is a female, and has had human contact at some point in its life or it wouldn't let us touch it. There is a high probability it is a dump off at the colony. No chip. The cat was scared at first, but is friendly today according to Dr. East. She will be spayed next week since Dr. E doesn't want her to have a setback with her socialization, and she will stay at Dr. E's cat clinic until they find her a home.  A better life is ahead for this gal.

I enjoyed listening to it.  I was familiar with a bunch of songs on it, but was introduced to the Jayhawks, The Lone Bellow (I liked that song, darn it!), and songs I hadn't heard by familiar artists like The White Stripes and Springsteen and Dylan.

I have never been a fan of Black Flag or Circle Jerks so I was a little concerned when I heard those back to back early in the mix after liking the first 3 songs. I have tried to like hardcore punk as a genre but it is really hit or miss (usually miss) for me. The rest of the mix was great though. KP's mix was refreshing since I have multiple songs from nearly every band that KP chose in my library - but I wasn't that familiar with the songs he chose. Loved Dead Milkmen. My wife hates the band and gets annoyed when my 3 year old and I sing the "Guitar Song" in the car. She also doesn't always appreciate when I try to change a subject by asking if she knows what the queers are doing to the soil. Can't go wrong with Kinks, DEVO, Talking Heads, The Cars, CCR, etc etc. While I am only 4 drafters in I don't know if any new song is going to top the Arctic Monkeys - Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High? This song is ####### awesome and I have already listened to it a dozen times.

Interesting.  I thought somebody told me they are like Phish and live is the way to go.  Maybe I was misunderstanding them and they just meant you had to see them live.  What album(s) should I start with?
