I can do that. I'll do more tonight. I startes spinning Rocks earlier and I'll finish after practice. I'm not gonna lie, I have my own going now. Of course I love it. Please add the link to the op when you have a chance.

I meant this particular track on this Wake of the Flood studio record is $$. That and American beauty are vg studio albums. I can give you some live ones too. Di cks picks #8, #14, and #29 are great live albums. Just listen to my mix and see how you feel about the two Dead tunes I used. The second was live.Interesting. I thought somebody told me they are like Phish and live is the way to go. Maybe I was misunderstanding them and they just meant you had to see them live. What album(s) should I start with?
Hey, guy - I have a lot going on during the day between naps and Crayons and ####! I can't just hop on the computer at any time and... nevermind, you and PIK are added to the list. Looks like we are at 20 out of 25!.tbh.. I wouldn't mind Gil's who'll pay reparations on my soul
eta: just realized the playlists were linked at the front... @KarmaPolice... please add my mine above- TIA!

I have never been a fan of Black Flag or Circle Jerks so I was a little concerned when I heard those back to back early in the mix after liking the first 3 songs. I have tried to like hardcore punk as a genre but it is really hit or miss (usually miss) for me. The rest of the mix was great though. KP's mix was refreshing since I have multiple songs from nearly every band that KP chose in my library - but I wasn't that familiar with the songs he chose. Loved Dead Milkmen. My wife hates the band and gets annoyed when my 3 year old and I sing the "Guitar Song" in the car. She also doesn't always appreciate when I try to change a subject by asking if she knows what the queers are doing to the soil. Can't go wrong with Kinks, DEVO, Talking Heads, The Cars, CCR, etc etc. While I am only 4 drafters in I don't know if any new song is going to top the Arctic Monkeys - Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High? This song is ####### awesome and I have already listened to it a dozen times.
I like the Taking Back Sunday song. Variety is definitely good, so no worries about those other two songs - they just weren't for me, but that obviously doesn't mean they weren't good.I can see how those 2 songs and the Taking Back Sunday jump out as being out of style. Thought process was all songs about bad relationships or relationships gone bad. The kind of songs you'd stay up all night drinking too. I wanted a little more variety and energy in the mix so that's where the Hotelier and TBS come in- the furious anger that a heartbreak can bring.
Glad you enjoyed most of it though. I actually thought there were other songs that people might find too bizarre.
Link worked for me - added to the OP
No real theme but kind of turned into mostly either love songs or breakup songs, at first by default and then I tried to steer it that way.@Dr. Octopus
Just wrapped up the mix. Really solid. Did you have a theme or anything? I enjoyed listening to it. I was familiar with a bunch of songs on it, but was introduced to the Jayhawks, The Lone Bellow (I liked that song, darn it!), and songs I hadn't heard by familiar artists like The White Stripes and Springsteen and Dylan.
Top Six:
6) Friend Is A Four Letter Word - Cake
5) I'm Lonely - White Stripes
4) It Only Hurts When I Cry - Dwight Yoakam
3) I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better - The Byrds
2) I'm Gonna Make You Love Me - The Jayhawks
1) Stuck Inside of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again - Bob Dylan
I don't really have any great insights into the mix, other than that every song is considered and excellent. Just dug it.
Thanks rock!@JZilla
Notes: Freakin' cool mix, man. Um, just really cool to listen from start to finish...the soul and R&B stuff from tracks 12-16 were awesome but what really surprised me were the Floyd, Hawkwind, and Priest stuff. Normally I don't like proggy or trad. metal, but those songs were all really good. Mudhoney was my favorite band my last two years in high school, so of course i loved Sweet Young Thing...
Beasties are awesome. I've loved that song since I first heard it in '90...Sparks I've heard before but never bothered to let it play through. Loved the end...with a flourish...disco with Maxine Nightingale...Psychedelia hard stuff with the Beatles...just cool all the way through. A mix that you actually really want to listen to.
Song of mix for me? Probably the Floyd or, as you pointed out during the draft, a song you just liked...He's Sure The Boy I Love.
I'm guessing I'll feel like I have to at some point, but I don't really want to. I reckon it's what people do out there though. Are you going to place any bets in the NCAA Tourney while you're there?
No sweat. I've actually really genuinely liked every mix so far. This has been pretty impressive, but I figured you guys would be this good. I'm going to keep on keepin' on today, so long as I don't get tired or anything like that. I've got a good music buzz going on; might as well keep it going. Thanks rock!

If only they mentioned LloydI was pretty surprised that Wilco's "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart" wasn't picked....it was one of the first on my draft list but I never got to it. In retrospect it would've fit my mix a lot better than some of the others.
Thanks man, high praise from you. Glad others enjoy it. BTW, on the Chet Baker song, it's off an album Chet recorded with this German bandleader named Wolfgang Lackerschmid. I am pretty sure it's a vibraphone. Also, oddly enough, the song was originally composed for an Aboot and Costello movie.@Ilov80sJust got done listening to your mix.
Dawn With Sleepless Eyes
"isn't it pretty to think so?"
I'm not sure what to say about this mix. I listened to every second of it, even the songs I'd already heard, and I'm not sure what I could tell people (or Ilov80s) that they don't already know. Some of the songs are so far afield from that which I'd normally listen to that I don't think I could say anything intelligent about them. I loved, of course, Taking Back Sunday and was thrilled to be introduced to The Hotelier. I also loved the Chick Webb and Chet Baker songs (was that a glockenspiel or xylophone going on behind the horn?). Dexter Gordon and his saxophone. Dylan. Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers and The Supremes were a nice touch. I thought I would hate Bobby Womack, but I wound up digging his song.
The coolest track, to me? I Want You Back/Lady Lady by BJ The Chicago Kid. I love the interlude.
Great mix, man. Great title and epigraph to it, too. Best of the draft so far.
Oh, I was surprised by how smooth the Sinatra song was. I've never been a fan of the crooners, but that was slick.
Thanks for putting it together. As always, it was thoughtful and smooth.
Mine is really long but worth it. Check it out but be patient.Anyone not get reviewed or listened to yet that would like to be?
I'll give it a few hours and then move on.
I hadn't considered length. Mine is really short. 11 songs under 3:10.Mine is really long but worth it. Check it out but be patient.
Does Suckify show song length? Any idea what my total mix is? Of course not.I hadn't considered length. Mine is really short. Most songs under 3:10. 11 songs under 3:10.
Cool. I'll give it a whirl.Mine is really long but worth it. Check it out but be patient.
Yes it does. You on mobile or desktop?Does Suckify show song length? Any idea what my total mix is? Of course not.
Mobile. I just like teh google play better.
There are way too many political threads. Both.
How do you drink your gin?JFC I love gin. On to the 2nd glass - 0 chance anything is getting done with these damn taxes tonight.
Just about to write up your mix, homie. My list was surprisingly short at 79 minutes, probably since I stayed away from prog Rock this draft.
Doubt I'll bring anything new to the table with my mix since I tend to stick to what I know in these drafts (which isn't as much as most of y'all), but I like how my playlist ended up and can see it as something I'd put together regardless of the draft restrictions.
If you got the time I'd be curious what you think of mine.Anyone not get reviewed or listened to yet that would like to be?
I'll give it a few hours and then move on.
Wow - great review, thanks all the time spent on this. Always good to hear someone else's take and be able to turn someone onto some new music.@Binky The Doormat's Mix

Going In…
Songs Familiar With From Name Alone = 5
Artists I Recognize From Name Alone = 17
I see a lot of classic rock artists on here, so this one should hit my sweet spot.
Thoughts While Listening (in playlist order)…
Never realized the name of this Elton John combo - nice tune to open with on both ends.
Although one of my favorites from his solo efforts, completely forgot about this Sting tune. Even after we started drafting and I put Police songs on my scratchpad, it never crossed my mind as an option.
Sorry @Northern Voice, I never really got into Neil Young and - wow, that song ended quick.
The Traffic song wasn't my thing once we got into the 60’s psychedelic part (listened during the AM commute, so I am pounding only a water and the only pharma product is my multi-vitamin)
Enjoyed the Steve Miller tune - never heard that one before (not on GH?)
Sutherland was completely new to me - to my ears, a mix of The Who and The Beatles. Need to listen to a little more of this.
The Amboy Dukes - 60’s type rock - never heard it before, but digged it. The guitars bouncing from speaker to speaker reminded me of early Sabbath there. Another "new to me artist" for which I'll need to dig into the catalog more.
NOTE TO SELF: Got to listen to these on my iPad not iPhone so it's easy to switch from mix to notes and back
Mid next song, it's Cyndi Lauper? Don't remember her being on the playlist...checks phone - nope, that's Melanie. New one to me as well. Now she sounds like Lorde. Or Alanis Morissette. Dig the Rolling Stones-ish outro at the end.
Stones through Genesis block...know a number of these - good set there of familiar tunes.
Beatles and George Harrison...surprisingly, I am not sure I've heard either of these before, but they were solid.
Mott the Hoopie’s “I Wish I Was Your Mother” was a tough one, but I made it through...Yes! No, seriously, we are now onto Yes. I know this song, but did not recognize the name.
Squeeze, Rundgren, and The Tubes…never heard any of these tunes before. Probably would circle back to Squeeze first over the other two as I enjoyed that one the most of the three.
Coming Out...
Songs I Recognized After Listening = 7
Surprises and Other Thoughts...
Surprised that I really enjoyed that Melanie tune with the choir effect and different vocal styles.
Wish I had drafted the Sting song...glad I didn't draft the Traffic tune
Summary…
Solid set...leader in the clubhouse as the first mix I listened to
3 out of 5 Duritzes
Liner notes…
Familiar Songs at start were If I Ever Love My Faith In You, Pride, Living Loving Maid, The Lamb Lies Down, and Doo Doo (Heartbreaker) - all on my scratch pad of possible draftees at one point except the Sting song
Realized I knew the Yes and Elton John songs after listening
Artists I Didn't Recognize were Melanie, Sutherland, and The Amboy Dukes
Sure. I'm still on PIK95s. I remember yours looked cool, so no doubt. Tonight or tomorrow okay?If you got the time I'd be curious what you think of mine.
Been swamped at work this week but I'll do my best to get to some listening of other lists soon.
