Need to add a song that I really like to address "Spring Break" for my "senior year" mix.
Round 14 - Luke Bryan - Spring Breakdown
Alright, time to cross the border and head into Manitoba. Finally out of Ontario, One Great City is about the fine city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, or as it’s commonly known “Winterpeg”, it's the unofficial gateway to the Canadian prairie provinces and the largest city in ManitobaAlright, finally we've made it all the way north. My mix here is definitely as bit more folky and acoustic than I usually go. We'll pick things up a bit but still stay in the same vein with a more uptempo rocker about Americans coming north to avoid the draft. This song is set in Thunder Bay - really really north. The things about it being so remote and desolate up North is that it’s a very good place to hideout. It’s common for criminals to head up there and it was also a popular place for draft dodgers. Thunder Bay is the most populous city in Northern Ontario, with just over 100 000 people.
11.14 - Sam Roberts - An American Draft Dodger in Thunder Bay
The prairies include the Canadian provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. The are flat as hell, marked my lots of wheat and not all that much to do, at least until you get to Alberta. I'm trying to take a cue from the last draft and work in some more female singers on this one. This is a really great song IMOAlright, time to cross the border and head into Manitoba. Love it, but there's also a lot of bluegrass in your mix. Know that. The prairies include the Canadian provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. 13.14 - Rah Rah - Prairie Girl
I am a darling
I am a dear
I'll cut your neck if you get too near
When the chips start falling
I'll stay here
I am a prairie girl
Straight to the bone
I'll cut you off on the drive back home
I spend my winters alone
Yeah there's just no place quite like home
Nice one. I've been thinking about taking a different Jurassic 5 song, just not sure how to make it fit.
I know what you mean. Had a few others that I wanted to take that I couldn't fit into any subjects.Nice one. I've been thinking about taking a different Jurassic 5 song, just not sure how to make it fit.

This one doesn't change that much...Love it, but there's also a lot of bluegrass in your mix. Know that.
And this might be my favourite song I'll have on the mix. It's definitely the one I've played the most. I've drafted these guys before but they have become one of my very favourite bands over the past few years so I'll likely just keep on drafting them. We are now officially beyond the prairies! Frank is an Alberta town on the Rocky Mountains. Frank was a once prosperous mining town in the early 1900’s. Much of the city was destroyed by a rock slide in 1903, which is the subject of this song. It's sweet and sad and beautiful. This one doesn't change that much...
This was one of the first songs I thought of for this draft since it actually shouts out a lot of the country. We'll use it here as the introduction to Alberta. Alberta represents the Westernmost prairie province and the climate starts to change here, as we have more than just flat lands and wheat – specifically mountains, and oil, we’re also getting closer to the Ocean again now.
14.05 - Elliott Brood - Oh, Alberta
You had one for 14 yesterday, so I am assuming this is for 15 (first round today), amirite?
Unless I forgot to write it down or add it to my playlist I've only drafted 14 songs so far.You had one for 14 yesterday, so I am assuming this is for 15 (first round today), amirite?
Yeah, I got that too, looking back. I assumed the one yesterday was just for Round 14. My Bad.Unless I forgot to write it down or add it to my playlist I've only drafted 14 songs so far.You had one for 14 yesterday, so I am assuming this is for 15 (first round today), amirite?
I love this song. Unapologetic, just righteous bluegrass.
Hank Williams wrote that. Every time I have seen Willie Nelson live he has ended his show with that song.I love this song. Unapologetic, just righteous bluegrass.
Wow. Hank wrote that? Just loved him when nobody else did at my little liberal arts school. They would make fun of you for liking Hank (not Jr.) How dumb.Hank Williams wrote that. Every time I have seen Willie Nelson live he has ended his show with that song.
Came really close to drafting this a few times. Like you, the clash version. But that would be two clashes in law school.15.xx - The Clash - I Fought The Law
Law School, juvy #### - Nuff said.
Not the Bobby Fuller version. The Clash one.
