MNF - Titans @ Texans (1 Viewer)

Killed my team. Started Coutee over Thomas. Finished with a tie in FPC playoff game. Opponent has the tie breaker, regular season points.

I did not know the Texans theoretically can't afford Clowney next year. 17 mil tag and 16 mil in cap space. If the Titans don't fire Vrabel, he's sure to be lurking to grab him as a free agent if the Texans can't clear up enough space.

What's the tag that's a first and third? Maybe the Texans gotta do that?

Thinking out loud, kind of catching up here, fill me in Texans fans

Derrick Henry with the awesome fumble with 20 seconds left to lose me my week after kekes hammy pulls up lame again. Could have had a bye locked up already.

This isn't true though right? Wasn't it explained that the refs have all the camera angles to review and if we saw it then they must...isn't that how it works?
The best angle they showed, you couldn't see his hand to tell if he was gripping the ball still. By the time you could see it, his elbow had already been down. Showed 2 other views, the best angle a player was in the way. Curious to see broadcast now.

Doesn't sound right. From overthecap... Texans have $19m unused right now that will carry over. They have like $73m in cap room next year. Not sure if that includes the $19m even.

Clowney, J-Jo, Kareem Jackson, Honeybadger and the kicker need new contracts. Some others like DT Covington and the street CBs we picked up may also get re-signed.

Yeah, not sure where you heard that. Texans are projected for like the 5th most cap space in the league. And that’s before they either cut or restructure DT and Kevin Johnson (looks like Lamar Miller will definitely be kept.) They will use a big chunk of it resigning Clowney, Honey Badger, Kareem Jackson, etc but should still have a boatload left with Watson in year 3 of his rookie deal.

Ok, same replays at the stadium as the broadcast, except I don't recall if the one they did the extra zoom on had the extra zoom.

I can see where you guys see it as having come out.  I thought he was still holding it like a QB rather than like a RB but clearly he wasn't.  So when it moved away from his arm that was probably the ball coming free even if you couldn't see his grip on it.

The broadcasters talk like this too. He's not a Harlem globe trotter spinning it on his finger. We all know what a loose ball looks like, even if the hand is touching it is hardly in control. I swear a clown juggling would never fumble

I went to spotrac after seeing it on Twitter. 17mil is what projected tag is. 16 mil free is what they have now.

How could they keep all that with his big spike in salary? Still got picks to sign too

From 19 to 73? Ill have to see 2019 at spotrac. Maybe that's what I should have looked at

22 of 23 is pretty good
And it proves someone should on the coaching staff should get fired after last night.

Going 22 of 23 in a game you LOST BY 3 SCORES shouldn't be possible.

It defies all logic.

Not sure it's all on the coaching staff. Seemed to me that, when faced with pressure, MM lost sight of possible 3-5 yard passes and opted to just eat the ball too quickly. Would be curious what the dropbacks / passes ratio was.

Nah, where I was coming from was... picture a QB holding the ball to pass (as I had thought he was still gripping it at the end of the run).   His wrist can move any direction he wants without losing control.  Seeing the ball moving relative to his arm (in a similar way to what we saw in this replay) wouldn't mean a loss of control necessarily, it could just be his wrist bending but he still has a grip on it.  If he'd still been holding it like a passer, you have to see his hand in the replay to know if he's still gripping it, was what I was saying at first.

If you hold it like a RB though, your wrist is locked in place so the ball can't move much relative to your arm.  If it does move, you lost control. Being able to see earlier in the replay than they showed on the screen, he definitely had it gripped like a RB so agree it was a fumble.
