**Monday Night Football - Eagles 8-4 at Chargers 8-4**(+2, 42) 8:15 (1 Viewer)

Herbie took a karate chop to the hand.

I don’t think it was purposeful or nefarious… but…

That’s gotta hurt.

I think it was on purpose. There is no doubt in my mind that the Eagles prepared knowing Herbert has an issue with his left hand, with intent to attack that hand when possible.

When was the last time both teams that made the super bowl completely imploded the next season?
Not this one. Philly is almost a lock to win the NFC East.

Probably 2016, when Denver and Carolina both missed the playoffs after their Super Bowl matchup. 2003 Bucs and Raiders both missed the playoffs. 1999 Broncos and Falcons, but in Denver's defense, Elway retired, and Davis and Sharpe missed almost the entire season.

ETA: 2003 Raiders are the benchmark for biggest implosion. Went from losing in the Super Bowl to picking #2 in the draft...and then taking Robert Gallery over Fitzgerald and Rivers.
FWIW, the hype on Gallery was huge. He was being called the next Orlando Pace and an absolute surefire stud LT.

What's even more brutal is that Cleveland offered their first that year (6th overall they used on Kellen Winslow) and first in 2005 (3rd overall) to the Raiders because they wanted Gallery. Raiders also traded up in 2005 to take a corner, the next pick after their's was Aaron Rodgers but for some reason they were happy with Kerry Collins lol. A whole lot of "what could have beens" there

don't mind the way that drive went.....except it was too quick after LAC kept the ball nearly 10 minutes

It was a loaded class. I always thought Al Davis always regretted not taking Rivers or Big Ben in 2004, and that's why he took Russell, because Calvin Johnson checked every Al Davis box imaginable.

Stating the obvious but Herbert probably shouldn’t be playing and definitely shouldn’t leave the pocket.
WTF are they doing starting him after having hand surgery days ago? With that line? Ridiculously stupid.
They probably clinch a playoff spot with a win, and presumably the hand can't get hurt worse. Also, the backup is Trey Lance, who probably shouldn't be in the NFL.
