Mora to Huskies? (1 Viewer)

He's all set to take over next season for Mike Holmgren and he's back in his hometown, but....

Mora has always said that coaching UW would be his ultimate dream job. He's even said that it's he one job he would leave any other to take if/when it was open.

Well, now it is...so is there any chance he pulls out of the Seahawks arrangement to take on the train wreck :lmao: that is Husky football?

This hardcore sees him as the ultimate savior.

nice photoshopping.

Also getting love, Pinkel...and, Raiders ex Lane Kiffen. The latter could have some detractors with the SC connection, because UW still feel burned by former Trojan Babs Hedges tenure as AD.

Thoughts from the shark pool on Mora/Kiffen...NFL bird-in-hand or making like St.Jude for the lost cause and glory (maybe) ???

When I looked at the photoshopping I thought maybe Mora was headed to the CFL next year...

Winnipeg Blue Bombers
 Well, with a franchise fee of just $7 Million (CDN), he'll be able to buy a CFL team with two years of coaching the Seahawks.

The question is...does his Seattle contract contain any outs for UW, and could the school offer up enough with heavy incentives to even come close to what the Hawks will pay Mora?

No big deal. If Mora leaves the Seahawks can always replace the retiring Mike Holmgren with Jim Zorn . . .

I would have laughed at that 8 weeks ago, but now....???

No one thought Zorn would be this good out of the chute, even ardent backers.

He's always been a popular guy with the fans, but timing is everything. It will be strange Week 12 when he brings the Skins to Seattle to

try and deliver the beat-down against the franchise he helped give birth to in 1976.

I'm needling here. On the one hand, nobody should have known better than Holmgren what Zorn could turn into. From what I've learned about him since he's been hired, he's always been recognized as a very bright, motivated guy. I can't believe it took this long for him to become a play-caller, for example. OTOH, it's tough to be promoted within the same organization and to have people respect your new authority. Doubly so in this case where he's got such a history with that city in general. It's often easier to do that somewhere else, and he went about as far away from his own history as it turned out by going to Washington as he could have. I think it's cool, though, how much of an affinity Seattle has for him.

I always thought that Mora would do well in his next gig, he just needed to learn the hard way that discipline is important. After watching what's happened to that defense, I'm not so sure he's learned.

Now, I don't have intimate details of what's going on in Seattle, but based on comments I hear off of Sirius NFL, this could be the best thing that could happen to the Hawks.

How much is Mora in line to make when he takes over for Holmgren? I can't imagine it would be less than what he would get at UW.
Nope, probably a lot more, in the neighborhood of 5 million per. Outside of Saban and Weis, that's too much cheese for most college programs, inc. UW, unless you factor in heavy incentives, which would be their only hope IMHO, along with the fact he has clearly stated Huskies is his all-time dream gig.

My gues sis Gary Pinkel leaves Mizzou to go to the Huskies. I don't think Christensen will step up as head coach, so that leaves an opening at Mizzou. No idea who will take it, is there another Stoops brother available? Woul dbe nice to keep Christensen as OC then go after a defensive minded HC.

Please, please, please let this happen. Mora Jr to the Huskies would be sweeet - the Seahawks might get a decent coach.
