Mort saying Seattle the favorite to get Branch? (1 Viewer)

This has been my guess all along. Branch for a #1 or some other type of package. Seattle's window is now and Holmgren's probably not around much longer. Therefore going have to Branch can definetly be justified.

This would surprise me a little, but its possible I don't know enough about Seattle's WR corps. DJax caught some balls today, is he still not running well?

After starting Plummer and benching Bush, reading this really picked up my spirits though. I need a : crosses fingers : for this one.

I thought Jackson looked fine today. And I was as skeptical as anyone about his true health.

I've thought since the whole Branch/Seattle talk began that Nate Burleson might be involved & whatever cash considerations in the deal that need worked out, would be (I'm sure Seattle gave him some sort of signing bonus).

I caught Mort's comments today, he thought Branch would be dealt (likely to Seattle) by Tuesday. Charlie Casserly (on CBS) wasn't quite as specific but did say that he thought Branch would be dealt soon.

So, if this deal goes through we would rate Branch and Jackson as WR1A and WR1B? Almost like the Harrison/Wayne situation?

I just hope he goes somewhere this week. I don't care where. I prefer he not go back to the pats cause I got Watson.

Seattle please!!!

Were the Pats in the FA running for Burleson?
No - but then again, nobody really was. Burelson was a restricted free agent, and nobody made an offer to get Burelson (even though it would've cost just a 3rd) until the Vikings got cute with the infamous "poisin pill" offer to Hutchinson. The Seahawks going after Burelson was directly in retribution to that.

so if branch goes to seattle, burleson's value plummets.

do i need to try to trade burleson tommorow?

Nate Burleson's stock is going to fall thru the floor.

They paid him a lot of money. A healthy DJax, D.Branch and sure hand Engram...where does that leave Nate?

Oh man... I dropped Vernon Davis before the games for a kicker, and then I just gave up on Branch and grabbed Colston. I hope this deal doesn't go through before he clears waivers :)

I heard an interview on the radio with Jonathan Kraft before the game today and they were discussing many things, including Rodney Harrison being a workout/rehab monster, but he said multiple times when they were discussing the Branch situation that he expected something to change this week. He would not say what, obviously, but he said that he expects the situation to be different when he and the radio host talk before next weeks game.

Don't let his poison pill contract fool you. Burleson isn't making all that much money.
Further, I have been really hoping to be impressed with Burleson, but it hasn't happened yet. This is the main reason I've been pimping Engram as Seattle's real #2 all preseason.

Can we be any more vague? What did Mortenson say? I went to his page on ESPN.com and tried to view the archive, but they aren't making it available. I've heard Mort is constantly slinging unfounded rumors. Did he say anything to backup his belief that Branch will be dealt at this point? Did Seattle up their offer?

Thanks for the heads up.

If you read all the posts in this thread, you'd know it's not just Mort saying this. Charlie Casserly & Jonathon Kraft have also intimated that something is afoot with branch.

I am a complete Seahawks homer and I have not heard this nor can I find any information to substantiate this. Although I think it would be great to add Branch to our team, we already have good depth at receiver and I can not believe that Ruskell would be willing to part with a first or second round pick for him. Any sources would be greatly appreciated.

Seattle gets Branch = NFC Champs of 2006
Yeah, because they looked so impressive beating the Lions today.
Post of the season.A Steelers fan complaining about how "impressive" a win another team had.Did you watch the Superbowl last year?I suppose you don't think Heath Miller stepped out-of-bounds Thursday night?Tool.I just hope you Stealer fans get the opportunity to play us in Miami. This time I GUARANTEE the outcome will be different!Just remember:"If Jerome comes home, the yellow flag must be thrown!"-NFL Officiating staff, Superbowl XL

:fishing:I am not biting at this stinky bait. I didn't see the Seattle-Detroit game but looking at Hasselbeck's stats their problems yesterday didn't appear to be the receivers. Would Branch have made that much of an impact yesterday?

Please don't feed the trolls. Cross Eyed continues to stalk any Seahawk posts so he can take shots at them. There must be some reason. I'll bet the psychology behind that is deep and meaningful.

First of all, it's September. February is long gone. You really need to get over it.Secondly, I was referring to how they played being an indicator of whether or not they looked like the class of the NFC this year. And by scoring zero TDs against a very weak Lions team, they did nothing to show anyone that that was the case. They very well may end up being the best team in the NFC, but nobody can argue that they weren't less than impressive yesterday. And thirdly, you REALLY need to get over it.

:potkettle: I've lost count. Should we engage the search function to see how many times you entered a Seahawks related thread so you could take your shots?
Be my guest. I'm not sure how many you'll find but I can pretty much guarantee that they would all only be in response to  about the refs and how the "Stealers" were handed SBXL. I don't believe I've ever taken an unprovoked shot at any Seahawks fans. But whatever, the whole thing is just getting tiresome.

Because you continue to perpetuate it. Who made the first insulting remark in this thread? It's still there. You need to get your facts straight.I'm in every Seattle thread. Every one. I see every time you enter to take a shot. Deny it all you want, but the reality is there. I agree it's tiresome and pointless. I hope you'll get over whatever it is that makes you continue this folly.

Oh, I see. So now all Steeler fans are forever prohibited from commenting on any Seahawk games or players unless we say how good they are. Gotcha.

I said nothing of the sort. You. Just you. No one else. You have a need to slam Seattle whenever you can. You say its because of the crying and whining, I presume from the super bowl. Plenty of Seattle fans on this board nodded and gave the Steelers credit for a well earned win. I was one of them. The reality is there are objective and whining fans from every team. No one team's fans are any better than another. We have solid analysis as well as blantant homerism from the fans of pretty much every team. I'll leave it up to you to sort that out.

I question whether Branch is worth a #1 and a mid-rounder plus the big contract. I guess if you felt he was the missing piece to the puzzle but that is an awful lot to give a receiver that's never had 1,000 yards or more than 5 TDs in a season.
