Thank god we have another thread on this. That other thread was running out of bandwidth.

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports that Percy Harvin is "livid" with Vikings coach Brad Childress' decision to waive Randy Moss.

Unsurprisingly. Not only would Moss' loss send more double teams Harvin's way, Moss was said to have taken Harvin under his wing during his month-long stay in Minnesota. At this point, Vikings brass seem to be at odds over the decision to waive Moss, which could be rescinded because it's not official yet. Childress does have control over the 53-man roster, but the Vikings could theoretically decide to part with Childress instead of Moss if the idea gains enough support from higher-ups. Firing Childress would likely have to be approved by owner Zygi Wilf.

Mort on ESPN is also saying that there's no official waiver and Moss' agent is only reacting to what the team (Chilly) told Moss/him but not anything official from the NFL.

How funny would it be if Ziggy Wilf pulled the plug on this cut and sent Chilly packing instead.

If he does, he should send Favre packing too.

A hawk would have seen this coming and traded low for Harvin and Moss.

If Im the owner I'm cutting two people tonight - Childress and Farve. Both are cancers for the team and should be shown the door. Moss even though isn't producing as wanted on the field in the box score is having a big time effect on other players and that helps the team. I'd kick the coach out for the record and I'd show Farve the door since he can't lead them to victory and just wants to continue a meaningless streak for his own personal gain then to better the team. Both should go. Moss should stay

I think it is funny how I get called out for starting this thread. It was just factual info.

The other thread said Moss waived confirmed. Well guess what that isn't true at least not yet.

I have no idea why the Vikes would keep Childress at this point it is clear that he has completely lost the team.

At this point I think it is more likely that Childress goes than Moss.

Moss' agent even said he was "sad" to hear about this. So,
The story here is Childress wanted to waive Moss but he might have been overruled by someone higher up. If that is the case I can't see how they could possibly keep Moss and Childress going forward. Childress has to be fired at this point I can't see any reason not to fire him.

Maybe the players form a mutiny but it's hard to see the owner letting go of Childress. Play calling has been horrible though.
Why? Everyone already knows Childress sucks and if he has completely lost the team how can the owner not let him go now?

It's not like they don't have a viable replacement within their organization. Just name Leslie Frazier the head coach

I think I am going to bump my Childress thread. I'm with you and GrOOvus but he did go to the NFC Championship last year.

Firing Childress is the only way to save the season, largely because the team needs a motivated Moss to save the season.

Yep, they can't let him get away like they did Tomlin (and Dungy).

You can't let the inmates rule the prison. Get rid of both and call it a season. Then let Favre huff and puff and blow town too. The Vikings need to start thinking about the future because this year is over.

They're only two games back in the loss column. Their defense is old, as is their o-line.They need to do anything they can to salvage this season, because after Favre and Moss leave this team will not be very good.

Never too late to start that rebuilding process now. They are not winning with this team...PERIOD!!

A semiunconfirmed report finds Childress was just traded for Wade Bum Phillips Milk of Magnesia.
Fixed.
Fixed again. And yeah, fire Chilly and let Frazier take over for the rest of the season - best thing that could happen to that team.
anyone else worry that the team defense has regressed on a yearly basis since Frazier took over? He is probably the best candidate who would also be willing to take over this mess (I doubt Cowher, Gruden, or Dungy would want to get involved here) but it still has to be a little worrisome.

I think they could still make the Super Bowl this year if they fire Childress and keep Moss. The NFC is pretty bad.Childress has been holding that team back, I think. I wouldn't be surprised if firing him gives the team a jolt of life that propels them to four or five wins in a row.

There is a lot more wrong with this team than Childress and / or Moss. Where's the run defense we're used to seeing? Favre hasn't looked good either. They only have one decent corner since Griffin went down. Super Bowl? Hardly.

Someone has to come out of the NFC. The Vikings were right there in their games against the Jets, Packers, and Patriots. They could have won any of those games. They could easily go on a run if Randy decides it's time to play.
