Most entertaining offense to watch right now (1 Viewer)

...the New York Jets. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching this team play football. This is not to say they are juggernauts by any means, but the games have been close (other than the bed-pooping in week 5), and they are definitely getting better as the season progresses. Big thumbs up to Chad & Laveranues for comeback seasons, as well as to Leon, Cotch and Mangini for their coming out parties. There is a tenacity about them. A true desire to win.

If Barlow wasn't on the team, it would be even better.

edit - i realize that their craptastic defense has a lot to do with this...fun to watch nonetheless!

Hmmm...I could go a lot of places with this. I'll start by saying that yes...they are interesting to watch. And as a fan I'm loving it (although, unfortunately I don't get to watch every game because of my geographic location). But "craptastic defense"????????  Our D is actually quite good...and...pretty young. I expect pretty good things next year if the O-line matures. That's the only "real" weak link in the team.10-6 is my prediction that they will finish. They'll likely lose to NE, Chi, and Minny. 10-6 though, won't be good enough to make the show in the AFC methinks. :banned:

I like the players, but I think they've got a ways to go learning the 3-4. Statistically, only GB and HOU are worse in total D.

The defense is not craptastic, but it lacks identity. The guy having the best season so far is Kerry Rhodes, and it's nice to have a good safety. In general, the secondary has been playing better and better, particularly considering the lack of pass rush.

The problem is that among the front 7 nobody is playing like a leader. Vilma and Barton are playing fine on the inside, but Barton isn't having the impact he had before he ogt injured last year, and Vilma is a little bit swallowed up in the middle. He leads the team in tackles, but he's not dominating. Bryan Thomas has found a career as a 3-4 'backer, but he's basically playing ok+, not great. Same goes for Dewayne Robertson, who is playing pretty decent, but just like he wasn't Warren Sapp in the 4-3, he's not Ted Washington in the 3-4. Shaun Ellis has disappered from the backfield entirely.

Until the front 7 forges and identity and finds a pass-rusher, the defense will never be very good. Even if the Jets go 10-6 and make the playoffs, they are a classic candidate to be exposed in the first game.

That said, the offense has been entertaining. They've done some interesting things with the pulling guards and center - I think Nick Mangold is already showing his worth.

good way of putting it. individually, we know they have talent. executing the plan together as a unit doesn't seem to be running on all cylinders.

The Jets offense is much improved over last season but it is not the most entertaining offense in the entire NFL to watch. :bag:

The quarterback doesn't have the arm strength to get the ball downfield, the running backs are mediocre at best, none of the wideouts scare any opposing defenses, the tight ends do not open up the field, and teh offensive line is young and prone to mistakes.

Improving? Yes. Most entertaining? No way in hell.

i didn't say most prolific or most explosive for a reason. most entertaining, in this case, means a combination of surprising, maturing, and competitive. as a non-fan, i find myself rooting for them moreso than other teams. hence, entertaining.

a lot of teams have had their moments on offense, but if I had to watch a team week in and week out I would probably choose the Eagles. They consitantly take shots down the field and they work Westbrook into the offense in so many different ways. I'm not sure the Jets make my top 5 until now- now that they have found a running game - even still... top 5?

Not watching Jets football much, huh?Pennington's certainly has the arm-strength to get the ball down the field - in seven games he's already tied his career high for 40+ yard passes, with 7, to go along with 17 20+ yard plays. For those who have been watching, many of those passes have been 40+ yards in the air, including a 44-yard score to Justin McCareins just this past week.If the WRs aren't scaring anyone, it's b/c, like you, the D coordinators aren't watching film, since Laveranues Coles is the #4 overall WR in the NFL. Jerrico Cothery is 19th overall in the league, and the Jets are one of only four teams in the league with two WRs in the top 20 (the others are Carolina, Detroit, and Indy.

I agree the Eagles on both sides of the ball are the most entertaining to watch ... no lead is safe no matter if they are up or down.

The Jets have been surprisingly entertaining to a degree but think a lot of people would have issues with title of this thread as they are not close to the most entertaining O in the league.

I nominate the Saints the most fun offense to watch right now.
they have definitely been a pleasant surprise...would be cool if reggie would score an offensive TD eventually.

I'm not sure about the most entertaining to watch, but it has given us Jets fans something to get excited about much quicker than we thought going into the season.

As for the defense, I agree with Z-Dog that it lacks identity. That said, assuming he doesn't have a big dropoff. Kerry Rhodes has Pro Bowl written all over him.

C'mon the Eagles offense was good for over 500 yards and 5 TDs last week.

Unfortunately, two of those TDs were to the wrong color jersey.

I won't argue any of this. I was hoping that Dewayne would show us something this year. And you're right...he's just been "okay"...not great.Kerry Rhodes OTOH...holy crap can this kid play! Yep, Pro Bowl here he comes. Sure am glad I homered him in my IDP league. Only Jet I drafted. Lucked out I guess a bit because I don't think anyone expected him to be as good as he's been.

10-6 is a possibility but it's going to be mainly against a cake schedule that will set you up for disappointment next year as it will make the team seem better than they are. Here is who they have beaten:Tenn 1-6Buffalo 2-5 (1 of those wins against Miami)Miami 1-6Detroit 1-6The Jets play 3 more teams with winning records out of their remaining 9 games. They get to play:Cleveland 1-5New England 5-1Chicago 6-0Houston 2-4Green Bay 2-4Buffalo 2-5Minn 4-2Miami 1-6Oakland 1-5That's a schedule to drool over for any fan.

My favorite part of the new-look NYJ is all the stuff they do pre-snap. From the "Muddle-Huddle" to lining Brad Smith up at QB or RB in short yardage. With DBrick, Mangold, Leon, and Brad Smith, I'd say the future looks bright

The Aints.

Brees was a huge addition. Bush has brought back some entusiasm to Horn and McAllister. That Colston guy is pretty good.

Great offfseason moves.

Meanwhile Stallworth is a talent, but hurt again. Brooks goes to OAK and fails to shine. Maybe they needed to X out the bad characters.

lions are fantastic to watch... the fact that they can move the ball with a bunch of scallywags (roy is the exception) is pretty funny... plus kitna plays with such reckless abandon, you never know what the hell he's gonna do with the ball. detroit used to be unwatchable, now martz has made them fun.

I haven't gotten to see the Jets play yet this year, but it sounds like they are fun to watch.

From what I've seen, the two teams that I enjoyed watching their offense the most are New Orleans and the Giants.

Tiki is a freaking stud, Eli is looking much better this year and Jacobs is unstoppable in short yardage. Why there offense struggles at times is beyond me, but they made Dallas look awful last Monday.

I'm amazed at the lack of love for the Colts offense. They are a thing of beauty. Manning is simply the best in-game QB of his time. Harrison and Wayne make opposing DBs at the top of their game look lost, like a deer in the headlights.

Watch this week as the over-hyped Chump Bailey gets his turn covering Marvin Harrison.

The team that has been the most exciting team to watch this year has definitely been the Giants. Their games have been a thrill a minute and great 4th quarter comebacks, the most long passes in the league etc...Been a wild ride.Pennington is the most boring QB to watch because while he throws his rainbow deep once in awhile, 90% of what he throws is within 10 yards from scrimmage. I will say the D-Brick seems to be an excellent pass protector already. Pennington has as much time as any QB in the league; another reason why they are boring though as he has all days and does nothing but help his completion %, even on 3rd and 10 he dumps short of the 1st down too often. There was one stretch where he completed 3 straight 3rd down passes and they were all short of the 1st down. That is annoying. Leon is interesting though.

Watching the Colts is like having the sex with a really hot woman for four years. Yeah, she's hot, but after a while you just want to pull some strange.eta that this may be the case moreso for those of us that have nfl ticket. i watched a lot of colts games last year.

If I am not watching my Cowboys I prefer to watch the Colts. Watching Manning to Harrison is perfection.

This man is right. Clearly the most exciting offense to watch..Who will start at QB? Will Chambers catch the ball? Will Ronnie Brown break 3ypc?Oh, the suspense!

Denver Broncos. Not because I'm a homer, but because I'm old-school, because there's nothing I love more than a well-designed run play, and because I don't think there's anything quite as beautiful in all of football as a perfectly executed rollout. I used to love Tampa's offense for all the same reasons, but... well, we all saw what happened there. San Francisco under Steve Young was, in my book, the most entertaining offense of all time.

Besides, you have to love any team that considers 3rd-and-6 a "running down"... and who actually converts on a regular basis!

Yeah, right. I've watched every snap this year, and they are a painful offense to watch. They never seem to get into a really good rhythm and, outside of this last game, they've been horrendous to watch on third and long.I  watching them on D, however.

Well, yeah, this year they've looked ugly and out of sync, Sunday notwithstanding. But when the offense is running like it's supposed to be running (such as Sunday), it's just really pretty. Beautiful, beautiful play action passes, lovely rollouts, really good looking stuff. It's just visually interesting, since everyone on offense is always moving on any given play (unlike standard offenses, where if the QB hands off, he usually just stands around doing nothing afterwards). Plus it really is a beautiful thing once Denver's got the play action and the rollout working, and the defensive ends are trying to decide whether to play pass or run.And Denver's offense almost always looks bad in 3rd-and-long. With a running game like that, though, they don't usually see very many of them.

Edit: I like watching them on D when Warren or Dumerville are creating some havoc, but outside of that it's just painful to watch that line try to get some pressure. I'm a big fan of good D-line play, especially since most of the time on TV the line is the only part of the defense you can be assured of having a view of on any given play.
