Most useful items on the cheap (1 Viewer)

I'm sure there are many things to list in here.

I was told about this little number, and it's pretty awesome.

Watcha got?
This is fantastic. Just ordered one for a drive down to NOLA this weekend. Will be awesome for Escort Live monitoring / Waze navigation etc. Price is right as well.

Picture of it from both angles in my car

It's sturdy as hell too. I've got a beefy battery case on my iPhone 6 and it support it no problem at all.

Nice find, thanks for sharing
Can you play cds at the same time? My wife plays a lot of cds but wants something to hold her phone in the car. This could be the ticket...
I just bought this ($5). It comes in today. It uses a magnet that you put in-between the case and phone or inside the phone itself (between battery and cover). I'll let you know if it's a complete failure and get the cd thing instead.

How did this work out for you?

After looking at the layout in my car, this is the one I went with. The cd player is too high and to far too the right for me, plus I imagined my kids not being happy with the stereo readout being blocked by my phone. The vent positioning just seemed better in my case.

Just got mine today, and it seems like it's going to work out great for me. The position is just about perfect - just to the upper right of the steering wheel without being obscured at all by it. My hand barely has to leave the wheel to touch the phone. Easy access to a power cord for when I'm running gps/maps for long periods. And really easy to switch over to the left vent if there's any reason I want it over there.

I was concerned that my big phone (Note 3) would cover the whole vent, but there's a still a decent portion of the vent free in this car, and it seems to hold the phone securely. I guess the thing only thing I'm worrying about now is winter trips with the vent blowing heat onto the phone for long periods of time, since it holds it very close to the vent. But then, I don't usually have the heat on high anyway, as I like it pretty cool.

Thanks for posting the link!

I'm kind of surprised this thread isn't more popular, but then I remember the per capita income of FBG is $600k. No one is buying a $12 Bluetooth speaker.

I would actually like a $12 bluetooth speaker. Maybe I should swing by Walgreens tomorrow.
Splash-proof, usb charging, says 4 hours of battery life but I'm over 5 off the shelf and still going. Size of a tennis ball, you can clip it to a belt loop, and the sound is quite good.

Not good for Helltoupee who hasn't left the house in 4 years, but it's perfect for me out here at the lake.

The speaker battery ran out three hours ago. That is your phone's volume level now.

It's hard to find a higher useful to cheap ratio than the venerable P-38 can opener.  It snaffles caps of all sizes and can serve as a screwdriver, scraper, picker and pry bar to the limits of your imagination.  Hard  to believe it was produced by the same military industrial complex that brought you billion dollar weapons systems.

The cheapest price on eBay is $1.20 shipped for something that will last a lifetime.  I've carried the same P-38 on my key ring for forty some odd years.  There's a bigger model called the P-51 that's better for opening cans and worse for everything else IMO.  But I have small hands.

Yes.  This.  This is the single best thing I bought for home maintenance.  My wife's hair would drive me insane otherwise.
It is a good call. I actually just used mine yesterday as our bathroom sink and shower were both draining slowly. The unspeakable masses that were removed were enough to make me contemplate shaving my wife's head while she slept.

Hair catchers for .99 at the bottom of the tub, that's what we're discussing?

I'll take those man cards from you boys, you can have them back at the end of the day.

This one is the Drain Weasel , aka the doctor Detroit . Works great
We have that one or similar, I saw the long white plastic one. Horror story coming...

Move into this condo built in the late 80s, place seemed like it needed a deep clean when we moved in. Drain was backing up, plunged that plastic thing into the drain, pulled up and  :X   :X     :X   :X

The drain weasel looks like more what I need.  I have one of those plastic snake thingies but it's not long enough and/or rigid enough to make it to the curve in my shower drain.  Hair pickup is a much bigger problem since my daughter moved back.

Old shoelaces work great on many things.

Empty toilet paper or empty paper towel rolls work great on many things.

Dryer sheets work great as dusters.

Reusing boxes from Amazon or the Post Office are great cause they are good boxes.
I have an unlimited supply of Amazon boxes.

Interesting. Going to try this stuff. Not just just for fleas and ants, but a whole bunch of other things that TruGreen keeps alerting me to when trying to upsell to me. Thanks.
DE is DE.  Don't pay for a name brand.

Free condiments for home from the fast food style joints. I keep packets of mustard, ketchup, mayo, hot sauce, and I love the taco joints where I can load up on salsa and exotic hot sauces when they have those help yourself bars on the other side of the registers.
