Mr. Robot (1 Viewer)

I actually think it will be time travel rather than parallel universes (although one might create the other).  They've been hinting at that hard for awhile, ever since that BTTF episode.

The particle accelerator at the beginning probably means some sort of wormhole/time travel thing.

I never finished season 2.  I like the show, it just kind of fell off the table for us.  I assume it's still good?  I might try getting caught up at some point

If you didn't like season 2 and quit watching, probably no reason to start back up again.  You might be better off with Chicago P.D.

When I started the show, the timer said it was only 54 minutes. I thought maybe the DVR cut it short. It wasn't until about 10 minutes in that I realized it was a single take. Pretty cool that the network let them do 45 minutes straight, no commercials.

Angela is pretty much the smokiest of smokeshows.

It wasn't a single take, they edited in a way to make it look like it was but impossible to do what they did and have it be a oner.

I understand there's no such thing as literal single-take shots anymore, especially if they're really long, because technology allows directors to fake it. But they're still referred to as such.

Apparently what made it even more difficult was that the interior and exterior of the E Corp building aren't even in the same location. Sepinwall did an interview with the creator Sam Esmail:

:pickle:   Love this show

When Elliott was conning the old lady to use her computer and he says, "we've found some remote desktop application being used to access other computers".  I was like, "Oh ####, they check for that?"  Not worried tho, I've got some good excuses and they can't check what was done on the other computers because they don't own them.

Just caught up with this past week's ep.

That.

Was.

Incredible.

One of the best episodes of a dramatic TV series I've ever seen.  And I've seen a lot.  I did not think they would put Angela in any danger but once she took over the episode I wasn't sure.

Rami Malek's acting is simply amazing.  But Portia Doubleday and Carly Chaikin are both outstanding as well.  Not to mention how good-looking the three of them are.  Geez.

In the snippet of the Facebook Live-hosted aftershow that was also aired on USA after the ep concluded (something I should maybe watch from now on), Esmail said that there is one twist that has not been guessed, but he thinks some people on reddit are on to it.  That made me question everything I've seen so far this season.  It's relatively clear to me that Angela is protecting Elliot - she clearly had no intention of attempting to find him to take care of the HSMs despite what she told Irving - so I doubt that can be it.  Perhaps instead it's that

Tyrell is actually already dead.  There's been something very surreal about his interactions with everyone else this season; maybe they happened in the past but they're being presented to the audience as occurring in linear time.  I'm confident there's some huge hole in this theory.

Frankly, I don't want to know...would rather just watch the show and see it unfold. I regretted reading up on last year's big reveal.

One of my (former?) fav shows... still no idea when it's on, or what the channel even is where I live.

They are killing this franchise like Trump is the GOP brand.

I've been lucky I guess, I was able to figure out it is on the same network on the same day and at the same time as last season.

Except I have a new cable provider, and seeing as when I watched I was looped out on all kinds of meds recovering from surgery, I have no idea when it actually aired.

At this point I'll likely just binge it one day, but the lack of any promotion is frustrating.  Hope the seasons been good.

I'm not sure what kind of promotion you expect to see? They show commercials for it all the time on USA

Maybe I'm just dense and the answer to this is obvious, but did Mr. Robot/Dark Army know all along that the files were in separate buildings, or did Mr. Robot only find out when Elliott told him via the Word document toward the end, causing Mr. Robot to blow up the other buildings instead of the one in NYC? Maybe the attacks happened when Darlene and Angela got those simultaneous alerts on their phones, and Mr. Robot's "plan" was to keep Elliott preoccupied with "saving" the NYC building until the attacks on the other buildings could take place?

Also, the flashback at the beginning seemed to be more "alternate dimension" foreshadowing, with Angela's mom saying stuff about seeing each other again. ("This isn't the end, that there's another world out there for both of us.") And then there was the cake: "See you in another life!"

I think Angela has just gone off the deep end. I doubt Elliot or Angela blew up the other buildings. Nyc was their way of distracting them.

Plus the song “Back In Time” playing during a cartoon episode of Back To The Future.

I know a few people who bailed on this show in season 2 because it was "just too confusing".  I've tried to get them to come back for Season 3 as it is definitely less confusing and even more awesome.  Still my favorite show on TV.

My wife is out of town this week for work so I was scrolling through Amazon Prime last night looking for something to watch and happened across Mr. Robot.  Watched the first 2 episodes with my son last night (HS senior who thinks he wants to major in cyber-security).  I'm in I/T too so this appears to be right up our alley.  I'm purposely avoiding reading this entire thread for now to avoid spoilers, but looking forward to binge watching this!
