Mr. Robot (1 Viewer)

While I love this show, and I'm no fan of the current president, I haven't been a fan of the Trump commentary. It takes me out of the moment while watching the show. However, I did laugh out lout at the "No puppet, no puppet, you're the puppet!" line.

I love that this show creator spent two years throwing tweaky hacker dross & paranoid wetdreams at us and then hunkered down to the human elements for most of the third. I'd like to think that was his plan but i'm not sure. Not counting the seconds to next wk's seasonender, but sure dont want it to end. Somebody big's gotta die, right?

I kind of feel like Darlene got caught on purpose. I guess we'll see.
Could've been her backup plan. She tried scanning the RFID on Dom's ID card, and was mad when she went to the bathroom, checked her scanner and saw that it didn't work. But it also seemed that Darlene and Dom were in on it together to try to flush out the boss/Dark Army mole. We don't know what they talked about after Darlene was caught opening the safe.

Ooh wow excellent point. Now I think you may be right.

Did anyone else almost stop their recording or change channel if you were watching live?

I might not be remembering all of this correctly, because I can barely recall the first season, but this all started because Angela convinced Elliot to work at Allsafe, which had the E Corp account, and Elliot hatched his plan. But now we discover that the only reason Philip brought the E Corp business to Allsafe was because his illegitimate daughter worked there. So if he hadn't wanted to get in contact with Angela, then Elliot never would've caused 5/9?

And all the "Back to the Future" and time-travel references were all there not to foreshadow some elaborate multi-dimensional plotline, but instead because Elliot wanted to hit Command-Z and undo 5/9?

Think you got it

Phenomenal.  Will be watching a second time, at least.

I'm going to need some verbal confirmation that your're grasping the details of this agreement!!

They won’t win.  Because one good thing came out of all of this.  They showed themselves.  The top 1% of the 1%.  The ones in control.  The ones who played god without permission.  And now I’m gonna take them down.  All of them.

Seriously - I need some help here

I forget names here - why was that guy being Angelas father have any bearing on this?

Is he still fighting with the "dark army"?

Who gave the order for the black guy to kill on the Chinese guys and why?

Did Elliot try to reverse everything with the kyes?  Who do he send it too?

Do we know the guy at the end?

I feel like I didn't watch it and I was paying attention!!!! :bag:

She brought a lawsuit against ECorp regarding the Washington Township case. Apparently that is where White Rose is hiding their secret project. He hired AllSafe and eventually Angela to keep her safe and to convince her to drop the lawsuit so White Rose did not kill her. Eventually the 5/9 hack allowed White Rose to complete the real goal of annexing the Congo and allowing them to move their secret project there.

Is he still fighting with the "dark army"?
He gave up

Who gave the order for the black guy to kill on the Chinese guys and why?
White Rose because those guys don't see the big picture of how important Elliot is...

Did Elliot try to reverse everything with the kyes?  Who do he send it too?
Yes, supposedly he reversed the 5/9 hack.

Do we know the guy at the end?
Yes, he appeared in season 1. The drug dealer who Elliot broke out of prison (after putting him in prison) and who killed his neighbor/"girlfriend" Shay.

Clearly ;)

Well, Elliot seemed committed to taking White Rose down as we head into Season 4 so I would say he will have to confront the Dark Army to do so I don't think he has giving up at all.

Also, he didn't reverse the 5/9 hack. He sent the way to do it to ECorp. I think the assumption is that they will reverse it.

By "he gave up fighting with the Dark Army" I was talking about Price

Elliot's father and Angela's mother both worked for E Corp in Washington Township. Phillip Price, current CEO of E Corp, was seeing Angela's mother and knocked her up. The mom cut ties with Price and married another man, who raised Angela as his own. An accident at the plant caused a bunch of people to get cancer, including Eliot's father and Angela's mother. The survivors sued but the suits never went anywhere. We know now that White Rose has a project in Washington Township and is protecting it. Price learned that Angela worked for Allsafe and, against the advice of his subordinates, hired the company to provide cyber security, with his real motive being to get closer to Angela. She then convinced Elliot to join Allsafe. (At this point, Price and White Rose probably know who Elliot is, since he's the son of someone who died from aftereffects of the Washington Township accident.) Elliot plans to hack E Corp. Simultaneously, Angela decides to try to revive the lawsuit against E Corp. The night of the 5/9 hack, Elliot blacks out and doesn't know what happened while he was out. It turns out that his split personality, Mr Robot, engineered keys to undo the hack and hid them in a photo of Elliot as Marty McFly and his father as Doc Brown from Elliot's favorite movie, "Back to the Future." It was Mr Robot who wiped out all banking data belonging to E Corp, as revenge for Washington Township. In the midst of all this, White Rose had been trying to move the Washington Township project to the Congo, but needed China first to annex it. The US was opposed to the annexation. In the barn in the last episode, Elliot seemed to imply that the Dark Army had been trying to hack E Corp to apply leverage so Price would convince the president to allow the annexation, but it was Elliot who actually succeeded with the hack. However, it seemed in an earlier episode that Price knew the hack was coming and didn't try to prevent it, because he worked a deal to get a loan from China in exchange for convincing the US government to let the annexation to go through. That loan let E Corp create a new kind of currency, E Coin. But White Rose is petty and spiteful, and she convinced Angela there was a way for her to see her mother again, and White Rose had Angela, Wellick and Mr Robot figure out a way to blow up the building in Manhattan where E Corp was centralizing all its paper records that it would use to rebuild what was erased in the hack. Elliot had walled himself off from Mr Robot, but when he realized what was happening, he got a job at E Corp and re-routed all the paper records to buildings around the country. So the Dark Army caused explosions in all of those other buildings instead, which Angela blamed herself for. White Rose, who's angry that the relocation from Washington Township to the Congo is taking too long, allows her right-hand man to kill Elliot. In the barn, Elliot says he knows how to speed up the relocation. White Rose is watching everything via the ceiling camera. She texted the black guy to shoot everyone and let Elliot live. The right-hand man realizes he's done for and kills himself. Elliot says something about the Coast Guard allowing humanitarian aid to Iran, so I think that's how White Rose ends up relocating the equipment, by loading onto ships going to Iran and then to the Congo, but I'm not sure. (The hooker at the end mentioned that the US was going to war with Iran, so maybe Elliot's and White Rose's actions caused that?) Then Elliot gets the keys to reverse the 5/9 hack, which would relieve his own conscience, but, as the hooker was saying, a lot of people would then owe debt they never knew how to repay in the first place.

I like how you remember every single detail except "the black guy's" name.

Lol thx.

That's way more than I needed.

I remembered most of it even the flashback of them hiring allsafe.

I just wasn't sure why he said he was her father was important but now I feel dumb for not realizing why

Btw does anyone else feel the show is too dark? And I mean literally too dark....I have a pretty snazzy home video system but this show is always hard too see ####

I wrote it out because when the fourth season airs I will have forgotten everything that has happened in this show, and now I can just go back and read what I wrote. I'm like the guy in "Memento." The white guy.

Didn't Price hit on Angela in previous seasons and she turned him down? Maybe I'm not remembering it correctly.
Maybe that's how you were supposed to interpret it.  Or maybe he did, and everything he said this last episode is a lie.

On Prime. Thinking about streaming it to kill time before GoT final season. Good show?  I think I read there’s only one season left?

Working my way through it now. First season got pretty addictive. It's hard to not binge through the whole thing. Second season, not terrible. I heard mixed reviews online from people who watched it real-time weekly, but I could see how binging would make it a different/better experience. Season 3 OK so far. A couple strong episodes and good tension keeping me interested.

No idea when season 4 comes out, though, so you might catch up before GoT but then you'll be left hanging for the wrap-up season.
I’m ok with waiting on season 4. I actually like to find shows with podcasts attached to break up the episodes and get more run out of it.  It reminds me of watching The Shield in college with buddies and chatting about it during the week.

I like these guys and they started up in season 2 - http://baldmove.com/tag/mr-robot/page/4/

I’ve watched 4 episodes. Why didn’t they just call this fight club the tv show?  It’s a decent enough watch, but it’s about as blaintant of a rip off as I’ve ever seen.

Pretty good start to the season. In for more.

Gonna wonder how it would have gone for Angela had Remi not (allegedly) cheated on her while filming Bohemian Rhapsody and breaking them up, forcing her to ask to be written out so quickly.
What's this now?

Watching Ep1 tonight hopefully.
