Here's a more vague topic. Hopefully, some good suggestions coming!

Pick a song you love that is most likely unknown to most people by an artist that will also be new to most. Let's vote based not only on quality, but also on the freshness of the artist and song., i.e. the introduction to an unfamiliar artist and a song that we did not know previously.

The goal is both the track/song needs to be "non mainstream" and it should be an artist that's most likely unknown to the rest of the group. Surprise us with something unknown by a band most of us aren't familiar with!

I do not understand this thread but let's give it a go...

Starlight by Yola

It has 4 million listens on Spotify but it's not even her top song and I don't think many people have heard of her despite her having a Grammy animated album.

I don't know which "group" you're talking about...the group in the music threads knows about the recent stuff I love, because we all post recent stuff in the music threads.

For that group, here's a couple more esoteric tunes they may not know:

Every Time- Sofa Head (heard it on a random English comp CD I bought in the 90s...never found the band or their albums anywhere else. Still love the tune.)

Snowblind in the Liquor Store- Dieselhed (saw them play in a small NCal beach bar and immediately dug them, bought their demo-tape...also early 90s when bands still had demo tapes. They became a popular SF cowpunk band in the next couple years, but might not be know outside of the area. Fun band live- always improvising lyrics on the spot).

Newer stuff  (known by the FFA music people, but maybe less so outside of here)...

Liar- CLAMM (punk/garage Aussie trio)

You let my Tyres down- Tropical #### Storm (another Aussie outfit...kinda psych/jam...dunno how to describe them. A slow build on this one)

Across that Fine Line- Nation of Language (recent 80s mew wave revival band that's successful, but maybe not mainstream)
