Doesn't it piss you off when you're posting a 100% legit story, and some doofus accuses you of fishing... and you aren't even known to be a fisherman?

The coroner called his mother? Oh, come on.Come on down, meet Fin, the guy who doesn't exist.
Anyhow, he had an enlarged heart. Coroner opened him up today and called his mother who called his brother. Thinking about an autopsy In my buddy is weird...even weirder when I think about an autopsy on someone his size. His brother said a normal heart is around 400 centimeters and his brothers was 650. Couple that with apnea, being 200+ lbs overweight and then half a lifetime of using hard drugs on and off and he was already on borrowed time.
Probably already answered, but they could have found physical evidence of recent drug use on the body or in his home. Also, I read "confirmed" as "confirmed as far as Finless is concerned".Christo said:So what do you think he meant by "confirmed this morning" in direct response to a question about an autopsy? Confirmed by who?johnnycakes said:"confirmed this morning" doesn't necessarily mean the autopsy results are back. I have enough experience with this kind of crap to know... if you're dealing with a drunk or an addict, and they die at this age, you probably don't even need an autopsy to figure out the cause of death. Need to hear the rest of the story of how it was confirmed. For now, I believe Fin 100% and is not fishing... I, too, have had many, many friends die young... enough that it doesn't even rattle me anymore, I just figure it comes with the territory.
Yes but all this went down in Eagen. Probably SOP thereThe coroner called his mother? Oh, come on.Come on down, meet Fin, the guy who doesn't exist.

First, thoughts and prayers, both for you and your buddy's family.just ignore the guy. He keeps posting over and over the same thing. Just surprised he'd do it in a thread about the death of a friend. I guess my other buddy had a girl in the room and my buddy who passed wouldn't put his pap machine on and was snoring and making a racket. It led to him going out to his car to get "sheets". He never came back in.
We lived together for a few months. His apnea was no joke. He would fall asleep in an office chair, often naked and would wake me up screaming in his sleep as if someone was trying to kill him. "No not yet! I'm not ready, Please God NO!!!" This was a nightly occurrence. I would wake up, slap him awake and tell him to put on the Vader mask.
Sleep apnea is serious. I think this was drug related though and I only say that because keeping hard living in check or apnea can save someone life. I'll also say there was a friend he drove to pick up a few days ago he showed up with last night that is being put on a bus out of town...before something happens to him. I'm happy to be sober and alive but I'll miss the big goofball.
There are counties throughout the US where contacting the next of kin is the responsibility of the coroner. Anyway, sorry for your loss, Fin. A good friend of mine dropped dead of a heart attack 10 years ago. It was discovered that he had an enlarged heart. He was 37. He wasn't fat like your friend (as a matter of fact he was handsome with a ripped body), but he was a longtime cocaine abuser, and drank like a fish. I wouldn't be surprised if he had taken steroids too. He is missed.Yes but all this went down in Eagen. Probably SOP thereThe coroner called his mother? Yeah, he called her on a Sunday. I didn't fact check the heart sizes or anything. Straight from his brother's mouth. The coroner called his mother? Oh, come on.Come on down, meet Fin, the guy who doesn't exist.

One more thing Christo, when I post his obit or someone confirms what I've said through Facebook will you be man enough to apologize for harrassing a person who just lost two close friends? Not likely...more likely you'll be polishing off a couple buckets of chicken wings before popping a porn tape in the old VHS and finishing several times right on the floor then rubbing it in with your socked foot. The coroner called his mother? What facts have I stated that aren't facts? I saw him the night he died. He had been puking which I've never seen him do through all the partying we did. Our close friend told me yesterday morning that he had gotten high that night and he found the paraphernalia in his toiletries bag. I saw him dead. I posted a great story about a Little Boy Who Cried Wolf. Have you heard it before?Folks, if you believe it's fishing, or just are not sure enough to act appropriately for the subject of this thread, why not just stay out of this thread? That's not to say Fin has or has not acted in the past in a manner that might have you suspicious, and that is your right.
But on the off chance (from your perspective, I don't see a reason to doubt this thread, specifically, but that's just me, maybe Im gullible) it is true, why not harass him elsewhere and just let this thread stay on topic. And if you think that topic is somehow made up or embellished, that's your right, but no need to harp on it here.
Yes. It inspired me to suggest that those who do not believe just take it elsewhere. Not sure what is to be proven by harping on it here. And again, not saying you don't have reason to feel that way, but what good does it do in this thread? If anything, should you be correct in that this is a terrible and sad fishing trip, the posts that bring up that point would only seem to feed into the very behavior that you are suggesting is so abhorrent. Just don't see the benefit of it. If you don't believe it, that's fine - not sure why it must be harped on, in this thread, thats all.I posted a great story about a Little Boy Who Cried Wolf. He's gone now. He is the person I spent my last 3 months with in CO before I shot back to Boston to detox. He left a few weeks before me to go work for the company his brother and I had worked for for years. I got here last Sat and he and another buddy I partied with were both here. I decided to stear clear as much as possible without being rude. I have to take care of me. Anyhow like I said, I have nothing to prove to you.
It's funny the two holes in my story are the autopsy results were back. I said absolutely. If look at the top quoted post it says I'd imagine they will do an autopsy. That was what Ibwas referring to. I went on to explain how I believe he died without being disrespectful.
The other hole now is I am making opinions into facts? If you say so chief. Funny, the same as it ever was with the crew who gets on me. its usually the same results. Lots of accusations of lies and attacks on my character, truth comes out and they slide away like snakes. In the past its was what it was. Just crosses a line when it has to so with the loss of someone close. My own fault for posting it here. Was just trying to deal with it. Will never see him again.
Look, I'm not on the fishing side. It just came out as odd that an autopsy and tox screen would be back that fast. Both of those were embellishments of what you believed would be true at a later date and did not say as much. There was no reason to state that as a fact at the time. For all anyone knew he could have gone out with a brain anurysm or something. I haven't read the whole thing, but there still is no cause of death, correct?Nothing is made up. I'm sure some of these idiots know that, which makes it sicker.
Why make statements such as the tox screen is back when I clearly never said a word about a tox screen coming back, nor the autopsy results. You have skipped arounded made your own inferences clearly and then use your mixed up view of the story to attack the real story. What facts have I stated that aren't facts? This is the internet. People are going to poke holes in wild stories. It happens.
I wouldn't come to post about it while the alleged body was still outside my door either.Ghost Rider said:All I know is, if a close friend of mine died, I sure wouldn't spend days arguing about the truthfulness of it on the internet with a bunch of jackasses I'll never meet. But hey, that's me.
Having said that, I am sorry for your loss, Finless.
They are a model of efficiency. In NYC (where there are 45 Medical Examiners), the average toxicology report takes 60 days. Autopsy reports average 69.5 days to complete. These numbers are up from 40 days and 49 days just five years ago. As with most municipal functions, budget cuts after the economic downtown have taken a toll.HellToupee said:Yes but all this went down in Eagen. There should be something soon, right?
I actually bumped that post Tim asking for a link to the bet. I agree with it being mundane. Overweight guy who lived hard dies. No real drama. Lots of posts about death here. I love how people are still posting about the coroners report and the toxicology report neither of which I ever mentioned being released. That said I'm sure the coroners in this county aren't swamped. They cut him open yesterday.I don't know Finless from Adam (though I think he owes me $50 for betting that Ron Paul would be the Republican nominee for President in 2012.)
But my question is: why would anyone lie about an overweight friend dying from apnea and drug complications? Sadly, that's all too mundane a story. If you were going to make something up, surely it would be a lot more interesting than this?
So I believe you, Finless. And I'm sorry for your loss. As I wrote earlier in the thread, I've had close friends and family die and it sucks. Do you have children or loved ones? Hug them tight and cherish the moments that you have.

Such an odd story...I know. If people would read what I wrote instead of reading one guys misunderstanding then posting based on that. The thread reads like "telephone".
Guy dies, cops turn it into a crime scene, draw blood on the spot from a corpse, bring him to the coroner who produces a report and a tox within 24 hours of the death on a Sunday ta-boot.
While the body was still warm "outside my door" I ran back to my room to post. Since his death I've been dying for some skag...shaking.
Is that everything? None of the above is true but that's what the OP has turned into, somehow.

Is telling a recovering addict to do drugs to get over the death of a friend some kind of attempt at humor?
Yes. He also appears to think that it gets funnier every re-telling.Is telling a recovering addict to do drugs to get over the death of a friend some kind of attempt at humor?
Cleaning it up. Sober almost 3 months, got my old gig back, a truck, good friends around. Big wake up call. First week I enter the real world two of my people leave it.Sorry for the loss of your bud - looks like something that was forseeable.
Hopefully this is a wake up call for you - clean up your act dude in memory of your bud.
What kind of odds?As I stated anyone who thinks this is a fishing trip put some dough up. I'll lay unheard of odds. That's when you know who's fishing. It's not this guy. Same offer I've made a dozen times in the past. Funny people want to make the accusation but I've never had one take the offer.
I'll put up $1,000 vs $200. I'd be willing to go as high as $10K vs. $2k but we would have to meet in person. I'd go even higher but I'm pretty sure no one here would even put $100 up.What kind of odds?As I stated anyone who thinks this is a fishing trip put some dough up. I'll lay unheard of odds.
