I have enough experience with this kind of crap to know... if you're dealing with a drunk or an addict, and they die at this age, you probably don't even need an autopsy to figure out the cause of death. Need to hear the rest of the story of how it was confirmed. For now, I believe Fin 100% and is not fishing... I, too, have had many, many friends die young... enough that it doesn't even rattle me anymore, I just figure it comes with the territory.

So what do you think he meant by "confirmed this morning" in direct response to a question about an autopsy? Confirmed by who?

Probably already answered, but they could have found physical evidence of recent drug use on the body or in his home. Also, I read "confirmed" as "confirmed as far as Finless is concerned".

just ignore the guy. He keeps posting over and over the same thing. Just surprised he'd do it in a thread about the death of a friend. I guess my other buddy had a girl in the room and my buddy who passed wouldn't put his pap machine on and was snoring and making a racket. It led to him going out to his car to get "sheets". He never came back in.

We lived together for a few months. His apnea was no joke. He would fall asleep in an office chair, often naked and would wake me up screaming in his sleep as if someone was trying to kill him. "No not yet! I'm not ready, Please God NO!!!" This was a nightly occurrence. I would wake up, slap him awake and tell him to put on the Vader mask.

Sleep apnea is serious. I think this was drug related though and I only say that because keeping hard living in check or apnea can save someone life. I'll also say there was a friend he drove to pick up a few days ago he showed up with last night that is being put on a bus out of town...before something happens to him. I'm happy to be sober and alive but I'll miss the big goofball.

First, thoughts and prayers, both for you and your buddy's family.

Second, the above is very true. My father (63) has had horrible sleep apnea for most of his life. I never remember him NOT snoring like a banshee. he's had 2 surgeries for it with no luck. He won't wear the C-Pap machine. He recently retired, and his weight is a good bit better than it was, but he still has a lot of stress. I'm just scared to death that he's just going to go in his sleep one night. When he had surgery, the night lab said his breathing cut out for up to 1 minute at a time, sometimes as often as every 10-15 minutes, and usually cut out for 15 seconds or so every few minutes. That's terrifying.

There are counties throughout the US where contacting the next of kin is the responsibility of the coroner. Anyway, sorry for your loss, Fin. A good friend of mine dropped dead of a heart attack 10 years ago. It was discovered that he had an enlarged heart. He was 37. He wasn't fat like your friend (as a matter of fact he was handsome with a ripped body), but he was a longtime cocaine abuser, and drank like a fish. I wouldn't be surprised if he had taken steroids too. He is missed.

What facts have I stated that aren't facts? I saw him the night he died. He had been puking which I've never seen him do through all the partying we did. Our close friend told me yesterday morning that he had gotten high that night and he found the paraphernalia in his toiletries bag. I saw him dead. He was seated at the picnic table laying down towards the corner with his right arm dangling off it. He was 400 lbs, had apnea and a large heart.

He's gone now. He is the person I spent my last 3 months with in CO before I shot back to Boston to detox. He left a few weeks before me to go work for the company his brother and I had worked for for years. I got here last Sat and he and another buddy I partied with were both here. I decided to stear clear as much as possible without being rude. I have to take care of me. Anyhow like I said, I have nothing to prove to you.

It's funny the two holes in my story are the autopsy results were back. I said absolutely. If look at the top quoted post it says I'd imagine they will do an autopsy. That was what Ibwas referring to. I went on to explain how I believe he died without being disrespectful.

The other hole now is I am making opinions into facts? If you say so chief. Funny, the same as it ever was with the crew who gets on me. its usually the same results. Lots of accusations of lies and attacks on my character, truth comes out and they slide away like snakes. In the past its was what it was. Yes. It inspired me to suggest that those who do not believe just take it elsewhere. Not sure what is to be proven by harping on it here. And again, not saying you don't have reason to feel that way, but what good does it do in this thread? If anything, should you be correct in that this is a terrible and sad fishing trip, the posts that bring up that point would only seem to feed into the very behavior that you are suggesting is so abhorrent. Just don't see the benefit of it. If you don't believe it, that's fine - not sure why it must be harped on, in this thread, thats all.

Both of those were embellishments of what you believed would be true at a later date and did not say as much. There was no reason to state that as a fact at the time. For all anyone knew he could have gone out with a brain anurysm or something. I haven't read the whole thing, but there still is no cause of death, correct?

Why make statements such as the tox screen is back when I clearly never said a word about a tox screen coming back, nor the autopsy results. You have skipped arounded made your own inferences clearly and then use your mixed up view of the story to attack the real story.

No results were back except what the coroner did not need a text for which was noticing his heart was large. I believe this was told to the mother first of all because its a fact and secondly because it means he would have died soon regardless of what they find in his system which everyone knows will be found. I have stated now a number of times I know exactly what he did the night he died..I never once said a tox came back the next day....a Sunday.

I fish but its very different style and I'm not looking to catch the of ignorant? That's like spearfishing suckers. I put hide a mackeral in a can of sardines and see who can sniff it out. It's like reverse fishing. Tell a story or give an opinion which with details. While listing part of the story drop some obscure or strange piece in with the rest of the list of things in the story. Like the woods thread and my list of greats who fell off. Including Cuba Gooding cracks me up. And it will crack up other folks with a similar sense of humor. It's no fun to create a thread like that, hasn't been for 5-6 years. It's got to be buried somewhere in a real rant or opinion post. So in a way I fish for my peers here and people with a similar sense of humor.

Anyone can fish the masses here. What fun is that? I could log in today with an old user name and drop a line that would last 3 years. If I was going to fish you think it would be with finless? The irony of this whole situation is the people accusing me of fishing base they're fishing theory on posts of which I would lay odds, and put money down on which I could confirm are real.

They are a model of efficiency. In NYC (where there are 45 Medical Examiners), the average toxicology report takes 60 days. Autopsy reports average 69.5 days to complete. These numbers are up from 40 days and 49 days just five years ago. As with most municipal functions, budget cuts after the economic downtown have taken a toll.

I actually bumped that post Tim asking for a link to the bet. I agree with it being mundane. Overweight guy who lived hard dies. No real drama. Lots of posts about death here. I love how people are still posting about the coroners report and the toxicology report neither of which I ever mentioned being released. That said I'm sure the coroners in this county aren't swamped. They cut him open yesterday.

Such an odd story...I know. If people would read what I wrote instead of reading one guys misunderstanding then posting based on that. The thread reads like "telephone".

Guy dies, cops turn it into a crime scene, draw blood on the spot from a corpse, bring him to the coroner who produces a report and a tox within 24 hours of the death on a Sunday ta-boot.

While the body was still warm "outside my door" I ran back to my room to post. Since his death I've been dying for some skag...shaking.
