My Top 25,000 Songs (1 Viewer)

Another one for the top 25K: Diunna Greenleaf own Sly Stone's Do You want Me to Stay. Bad ### goes to 11 here,

I want to convert this into a Spotify playlist, and hopefully they can support 25k, but there are a few tunes which find their due justice only on youtube, like the aforementioned Diunna.

Maybe 25K tunes on Spotify with 1000 bonus youtubes is my goal.

ETA: In other words, it's a work in progress and I will finish it. Once I get rolling on Spotify I'll post milestone markers for every 1000.
I'd forgotten about this one. Superlove.

I don't want to hijack Shuke's thread.

@ZenoRazon, who is on your Mt. Rushmore of Texas musicians?  It's a fun exercise deciding who does not make the cut.

My top 4, based upon Texas-ness and a lifetime accumulation of personal bias:  Townes Van Zandt, Bob Wills, Willie Nelson, and Buddy Holly.

Lots of acceptable answers here.  How many contenders would you list?  I'm too lazy to make the attempt to make a list, but there would be at least three dozen legit suggestions.

I don't think there are all that many who belong with those we mentioned already.

The guy I did miss who does belong in the discussion.....Ernest Tubb.

As we all know we could talk Texas music for a month and still not cover everybody who made some impact.

Little Hat Jones, Funny Papa Smith, Willie Reed, Prince Albert Hunt, Henry "Ragtime" Thomas,  Ramblin' Thomas, Blind Willie Johnson, Milton Brown, Bessie Tucker, Jack Ranger, Sippie Wallace,  Bobbie Cadillac, and on and on and on and.....Ray Wylie Hubbard,  Steve Earle, Albert Collins, ZZ Top,  and on and on....

BUT....I think we covered the very upper elite.

  10. Calvin Russell
  11. Freddy Fender
  12. Doug Sahm (probably my #5 overall)
  13. Michael Martin (The Infidels ... check'em out on various youtube clips)

That's pretty ####### good.
She sounded better back in the 20's.  Another great but lesser known Texas female blues was Bessie Tucker.

How I'd forget this guy?

Another cousin of Hopkins.  He didn't play any instrument, so he needed a guitar player,  many times the great Lonnie Johnson taking that role.

A different take on House of the Rising Sun,

How could anyone have a number one song of all time?  How is that done?  And to rank songs, I find that very impressive.  I couldn't do that, no way.
