NAACP leader outed as white & doing Soul Man routine (3 Viewers)

My transition is going very well. The ladies at work have been so accepting of my proud, made-up Mexican heritage. Everyone is calling me by my new given name, Pedro, though one lady still wants to call me Miguel. She thinks all Mexicans are named Miguel. We do have one cisMexican that makes fun of me because I can't speak a lick of Spanish. I blame my parents for losing touch with my heritage and not speaking Spanish in the home.
Vote for Pedro
I'm in.Vote for what exactly?

Stories like this really bring the bigots out. Racial identification is a personal choice not something genetically foisted upon us. HTH
I don't understand. How does this work? I walk into my local Department of Motor Vehicles in order to obtain a license to drive. I'm Caucasian, but when I get to the "race" box question, I choose African-American.

I'm guessing that my choice would be questioned and ultimately I would either be denied or made to check off the box which accurately describes my race.

Would I have a legitimate reason to sue or am I laughed out of court?
You are African-American.
I knew it!Wait...no, I'm still confused. Am I laughed out of court or not?

So this lady's parents were interviewed on the Today Show this morning. The best part was that the musical lead into the segment was from James Taylor (who I believe was also a guest today). The song selected was "Your Smiling Face" with the lyrics "No one can tell me that I'm doing wrong today." I think that sums up this lady's thoughts perfectly.

Apparently some in the Spokane chapter now want Dolezal suspended and removed. Seems she up and cancelled the next monthly meeting all on her own.

When in doubt - stall, stall and stall some more. Can you imagine what it must be like inside this lady's head the last 3 days?
No, because I'm white.
So is she.

Rachel is resigning before she gets blackballed...

Rachel Dolezal, Accused of Pretending to Be Black, Resigning NAACP Post

Rachel Dolezal, the NAACP chapter president who was accused of pretending to be black, said Monday that she would step down.

"Please know I will never stop fighting for human rights and will do everything in my power to help and assist, whether it means stepping up or stepping down, because this is not about me. It's about justice," she wrote in a Facebook post.

Really?I just watched a criminal defense attorney, who happens to be African-American, describe Dolezal as a habitual liar.

Is he a bigot too?

:lmao:

"Please know I will never stop fighting for human rights and will do everything in my power to help and assist including, but not limited to, carving swastikas in work doors, sending photos of lynchings to my workplace, and any other hoax that will bring attention to the cause."

"It's about justice," she wrote in a Facebook post.

Isn't fabricating hate crimes which you're hoping will make another group of people look evil and criminal kind of the oppsite of justice?
Nailed it Olaf, as usual. What I've found interesting in all of this is the complete lack of coverage about this aspect of the story. The first CNN story I saw on Friday dedicated to this didn't even mention the investigation going on into her inventing these hate crimes. Not even one word about it. I get the fact that the freak show aspect of the story takes center stage, but to not even mention it? It's almost as if Liberals don't even think this type of stuff is all that bad.

Oh we do, but I guess we just been too busy silencing free speech to address this. :hophead:

Why does he hate white people?

I heard Kanye West just said that George Bush doesn't care about white people dressed as black people. Any truth to that rumor?

Hopefully she lands on her feet and gets a job as an Indian doctor.
According to the Today Show this AM, she had previously made reference to being "born in a teepee."

link - The two also debunked several public claims Rachel has made over the years, including that “she was born in a teepee and grew up hunting for food with a bow and arrow.”

You can't get more "blacker" than tepees and bows and arrows.

It's like Mexicans and chopsticks or Jews and tacos.

Even more hoaxes and tall tales are being uncovered as people delve into Rachel's past.

Here'e yet another recently discovered Rachel classic...

A newly uncovered Rachel Dolezal interview shows just how far the NAACP leader went in deceiving people into believing she was a black woman.

The interview, from earlier this year, has Dolezal sharing stories about her black family, including one in which she details her father's exodus from the Deep South after he assaulted a police officer.

She goes on to claim he became a cop himself in San Diego after also serving in the Marines.

'My dad's exodus, the great migration to the North from the Deep South where they left on the midnight train because a white officer harassed and threatened to, was about ready to, beat his dad with a billy club and he whipped around and actually slapped the officer to his knees,' Dolezal said while being interviewed by Taylor Weech for a podcast of her father's journey.'

'They got out of town on the midnight train because as a black family in the deep south if you had any kind of a negative altercation with a white cop where you stood up for yourself it was gonna go badly for you.'

She then went on to say her father became a cop, and shared a story about his time in the Marines.

'He has 24 years in the Marines too, so of course had three attempts on his life by white subordinates in the military because he was a superior officer,' she said.

Can her actual father now sue for defamation of character?

Being called black is defamation now?

She's still ALL IN on this act.

"I have waited in deference while others expressed their feelings, beliefs, confusions and even conclusions -- absent the full story. I am consistently committed to empowering marginalized voices and believe that many individuals have been heard in the last hours and days that would not otherwise have had a platform to weigh in on this important discussion.

No, but making saying you hit a cop and then became a cop when you didn't could be.

Please tell us the full story, Rachel. We are all ears.

Who cares,,,unless of course she is getting some advantage she doesn't deserve,,,but on the other hand does anybody deserve an advantage based on race?

Sure, she used deception. But look at the reaction to her wanting to be black... it is one of ridicule and rejection.

What other choice did she have? Hopefully one day we can have a society that accepts who she is.

I think society is very accepting of her as a white woman - it's her that's not accepting that.

I'm truly fascinated by the reactions that people have to her. Most fascinating is the reactions by conservatives. They seem so . . . angry.
