Naked and Afraid on Discovery Channel (1 Viewer)

I think I could do an island pretty well. The jungle? No thanks.
I feel like Africa would be the worst though. Thorns everywhere, animals that want to eat you...limited shade, very little water.
I thought that Louisiana Bayou episode was pretty high on the list. Snakes everywhere. Nowhere to set up camp. Nearly impossible to make fire. And the fact they went there during an rare cool spell just added to the misery.

I thought it was strange that they were blurring out butt cracks on this last episode, didn't remember them doing that before. But, they didn't always blur them out. And it wasn't like they only censored the woman and not the man. Just very strange, not sure why some shots would be censored when others weren't.

Was that the one with the snakes EVERYWHERE? That one was pretty bad.

I noticed the haphazard ### blurring too. Very random. Maybe it had to do with the amount of crack separation, or possibly seeing anything through the gap...

Are they obligated to blur out poop? If so, daily variations in wipe vigor or poop consistency could make the butt area blur vector change unexpectedly.

Based on this clip from Tosh.0, no...but I like your train of thought.

Thought last night's episode was pretty good. They worked pretty well together.

Funny how the girl was all about not disturbing the environment and didn't want to kill the black widow eggs, but then a scorpion was on her during the night and then she couldn't wait to kill all the spiders in the cave.

Ruining the meat from 2 snakes was crazy.

In the aftershow, they talked about how the guy burned his backside pretty bad one night and flies layed eggs in the wound and he was pulling maggots out of his ###. Wow, that was pretty disgusting.

Sound like these 2 might be back again in another season as they said they would do it again in a heartbeat.

Not watching, but :lmao: .

Also, band name (bolded)

Last night's episode was not one of the better ones. It seemed those two just kind of bumbled their way through the 21 days. Barren wasteland is obviously a tough challenge, but it's just not as interesting to watch as rainforest/swamp/coastal stuff.

The barren wasteland in Africa was interesting because you had the added danger of large predators...seems the only thing these 2 had to worry about was black widows. Once they had a fire it should have been easy since they had water and shelter right there together. I had no clue why the heck they tried smoking the second snake, just don't cook it till it is rock hard would have been the right call.

Just watched this off the DVR last night. I agree...this was kind of a dull episode. Seriously...who finds a cave with water? When they started smoking the 2nd snake, I literally said out-loud, "This won't end well." Just cook the dang thing a little and eat it. If it's not done, cook it a little more. Always under-cook and cook more if needed. It's not that hard. (TWSS)

The chick was kind of meh...and the guy really loved screaming for no apparent reason. I wasn't impressed by what either of them did. There wasn't really much in the way of "survival skills" that I saw. The made a fire with their fire-starter, and they killed a snake or two. Woopteedo. I'm 100% sure I could do the same thing. The hardest part was just mentally surviving w/o food and limited water in that heat. Oh, and what the #### was he trying to do with the foliage he carried around with him for the trek to the cave? Seriously dude?

Also, are there no large mammals in Madagascar? To be out there for that long and only come across 2 snakes and a lizard seems kind of odd.

By the way, the after dark show has been horrible. Not sure why they want to follow up a cool survival show with such a dumb comedy. Getting a look behind the scenes, getting the know the people, hearing what participants' impressions months after being removed from the situation—that could be interesting. But for some reason they want to do a half hour of dad jokes and bad skits instead. Boring.

Really lame episode. I hated the bible thumping and the equally annoying don't hurt anything crap from her. And I guess they couldn't go to the interesting part of Madagascar, it was visually uninteresting as well. So far this season sucks. Hope it gets better.

just started watching this show, it's pretty interesting.

the couple from the last episode was fairly lame. they were gifted with shelter & water, and still managed to screw it up. I think the couple that survived the Amazon would have built a front porch with a screen door in that location.

Agreed. Not much in the way of survival skills. It was more about how much suffering they could tolerate.

did a marathon and watch all the episodes. Pretty good stuff. I love the one with the 4 people with the one chick who was just awful!!

i dont think i would last a night on this show.

I wouldn't, either. I'd have been the fifth person on that episode with four people -- the one who went home before the cameras ever showed his face.

I can't imagine why somebody would voluntarily allow themselves to be bitten hundreds of times by mosquitoes who could be carrying all sorts of pathogens.

I'd like to go somewhere that other humans have decided is hospitable, please. Anyplace on earth that hasn't been colonized by now must be unfit for naked humans.

Fun show to watch, though.

I consider myself moderately outdoorsy, but I still get the fantods when I hear animals plodding about outside my tent. I can't imagine being almost completely exposed in a ####### jungle. No way. I'd be out the second the sun went down and the wind rustled the leaves.

It seems like most of the men are neanderthals and the women are all hippie flower chicks. Is that what most survivalists are? I know it creates good television watching these two stuck together, but the women lately have been annoying to watch. Last season seemed like all the men were #######s. And this season it's all the women being annoying. I'm intrigued to see how season 3 goes.

TMZ reported some dude on that show had maggots growing in his rectum...he got a cut in that area and flies laid eggs in the wound ...the rest is history

Yeah, they mentioned that on the after show, he got a burn while sleeping and the flies took hold
I haven't been watching the after show... Which contestant had the maggots???? so gross
The Mormon dude with the hot wifeThe after show is pretty weak. It's good when they actually talk to the contestants but is way overloaded with lame shtick.

The redhead was such a #####. I liked how she talked the guy into staying and then after he has a seizure...she acted like he was ##### for leaving.

Season kinds sucks this year. They seem to be placing them where water is plentiful and they can make it just by hunkering down in utter misery. Boring
