NBA BTTF III - Draft Over! War of attrition underway... (1 Viewer)

My team shaping up how I planned with Top 3 in 3pt% and AST:TO ratio. Rebounding is terrible but hopefully the a decent FG% and defense ratings will help.

If only I picked Jimmy Butler instead of Lance Stephenson.

#1 in FG% by a pretty good margin, whoo-hoo! Then again that may be partly due to me whiffing on all my late-rounders, so there's fewer scrubs ruining it (though Rodney Stuckey and Austin Daye are trying really hard).

My team has been underwhelming so far mainly because my star player, Westbrook, has only appeared in a few games. Hopefully that will change...

We don't have to do anything, right? We just let the season play out and then figure out our lineups after the season?
Right - this is just for entertainment purposes...and we usually create divisions based on a sort of wc draw based on these standings.
When does this happen? My wife is knocked up again. Due in mid-June, again. So I may need to make arrangements ahead of time.

I don't know who keeps doing this to her, but if I find out I'll ask this guy to take a break from nailing her during September/October so she stops giving birth during BTTF league play.

Congrats - I'd like to fire it up within a couple weeks of season end rather than waiting forever like we did last season. Keep me posted, if need be I can enter a team for you or whatever.

Thanks, and will do. By "end of the season" do you mean the regular season? That would obviously be better for me. How long does the simulation thing last?

When you say season end you mean regular season right? We don't consider post season do we?
Yes, regular. Last year we didn't get started until like finals or after...too long. WIS usually has the rosters up a couple days after season end and we can start inputting teams.

Butler and Marc Gasol are the only guys keeping my team respectable. Drafting Butler in the second would have been a huge stretch at the time, he shot less than 40% last year and wasn't really a plus anywhere other than defense. I wasn't very excited when I picked him in the 4th round.

Congrats.

I don't think you'll have a problem because aside from inputting your team and setting your target minutes at the start of the season, you really don't HAVE to do anything in WIS.

There are some coaching options that you can tweak from game-to-game but they aren't real comprehensive and I've done fine without messing with them much.

Add Kirilenko to the list of guys not playing at all. I need him to get a buyout and move to a team that will let him play, or I'm going to start having big problems with minutes...especially with Mason Plumlee struggling to get and stay on the court.

Starters

Jeremy Lin - 11.3 pts, 2.9 reb, 4.8 ast, PER 13.3

Gordon Hayward - 18.7 pts, 5.4 reb, 4.6 ast, PER 22.1

Kyle Korver - 13.7 pts, 4.1 reb, 3.0 ast, PER 16.1

Blake Griffin - 23.1 pts, 7.0 reb, 3.5 ast, PER 20.6

Nikola Vucevic - 18.8 pts, 11.9 reb, 2.6 ast, PER 20.1

Bench

Carl Landry - 9.1 pts, 4.3 reb, 0.6 ast, PER 17.1

Mason Plumlee - 5.4 pts, 5.6 reb, 0.5 ast, PER 17.1

Alexey Shved - 9.0 pts, 0.9 reb, 3.1 ast, PER 15.2

Pablo Prigioni - 5.9 pts, 1.6 reb, 2.1 ast, PER 14.3

Mike Dunleavy - 11.5 pts, 4.1 reb, 2.3 ast, PER 13.4

Nick Collison - 5.4 pts, 4.1 reb, 1.7 ast, PER 10.4

[Andrei Kirilenko - 36 total minutes played]
Blake picking his game up in a big way (up to 24.0-7.6-3.9/23.5 PER)...Korver with an incredible 75% true shooting percentage. It's really too bad Jeremy Lin is terrible or this team could do some things.

Simulation is 40 days? 2 games a day I think.
Thanks. Might be able to get that in if we started by May 1 or thereabouts.
The basketball sim also doesn't require as much micromanagement as the baseball sim to be successful. As long as you can log in every few days to check in on things you should be GTG.

I did a few whatif baseball sims a while back, that was the basis for me thinking I'd need to be checking on it constantly. Sounds like this won't be a big issue. Not that it matters if Horford and Batum keep up their underwhelming seasons.

Update:

TREcap:

PGs:

George Hill: He's dead, Jim...seriously, wtf?

Mario Chalmers: 31 mpg, 13.2ppg, 2.5rpg, 4.6apg, 1.8spg - Good bench guard so far, hope he doesn't Probably will have to start

Mo Williams: 26.8mpg, 10.6ppg, 6.7apg, .391 FG% - shooting like doodoo, will keep getting minutes Minutes up, FG up, assists up, should be an ok bench PG

Donald Sloan: 29.6 mpg, 10.7ppg, 4.0rpg, 4.8apg, 37.7% FG -- filling in ok for Hill...feel pretty good about this free for all pick -- DNP City now

SGs:

Klay Thompson: 33.1mpg, 21.2ppg, 3.7rpg, 3.5apg, 1.3spg, .7bpg, 45.1% 3pt -- still going strong

Tim Hardaway: 17.4mpg, 8.7ppg, 37% 3pt -- STILL expecting more mins, but serviceable

SFs:

Kawhi Leonard: 31.9mpg, 14.8ppg, 7.5rpg, 2.3apg, 2.0spg, .5bpg, 46% FG, 32% 3pt -- weird eye thing still in play, scoring/%s up

KJ McDaniels: 25.8mpg, 10.1ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.0spg, 1.5bpg, 43% FG, 32% 3pt -- expecting mins to increase as the season goes on. Minutes/stats increasing!

Mo Harkless: 17.8mpg, 47% FG -- needs a trade or something...plays well when he gets a chance, I was way off on his mpg <--still mostly true, minutes up a tic

Danny Granger: 15.8 mpg in 4 games -- 36% FG

BIGs

Roy Hibbert: 28.5mpg, 12.4ppg, 7.7rpg, 1.7apg, 2.4bpg, 46% FG - playing pretty well for the most part, still loves taking games off -- stats dropped across the board since last update

Larry Sanders: 21.4mpg, 7.1ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.0spg, 1.5bpg, 48% FG - FG% up, still like the defense

Miles Plumlee: 22.5mpg, 5.2ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.0bpg, 54% FG - decent backup big, we'll see what the drtg is, low usage

Kostas Papanikolaou: 25.5mpg, 6.6ppg, 3.9rpg, 3.0apg, 0.9spg, 38% FG - brutal FG again, like the mins, but probably won't last -- Seems to have a nice "glue guy" role - stats up across the board, esp FG

Tyler Hansbrough: 14.1mpg, 2.4ppg, 3.2rpg, 40% FG - bench warm body

Crap:

Darius Miller: 3 games, 8.3mpg -- WAIVED

Clint Capela: 3 games, 4 mins per

Ray McCallum: 12 games, 8.5mpg, sucks slightly less than last check-in
Mostly better across the board. Wish Hill didn't mysteriously die. Still plenty of minutes to go around at this point.

Danilo Gallinari F Denver Nuggets
Gallinari (knee) may start the season behind Wilson Chandler on the depth chart, coach Brian Shaw intimated Monday, the Denver Post's Chris Dempsey reports.
Fantasy Analysis

Shaw said Gallinari is going through an adjustment period and that the team already has a pretty good player in Chandler at small forward. Gallo has yet to play five-on-five as he works his way back from a knee injury, and it seems the onus will be on him to take the starting job from Chandler.
Be sure to keep us updated
Sorry about one of your first 4 picks not even starting, gb.
First pre-season action for Gallo tonight:

17 points on 5-9 shooting, 2-4 on 3 pointers, 4 boards and an assist in 14 minutes.

Starters

PG Jeff Teague - 31.0 MPG, 16.9 PPG, 7.0 APG, 22.1 PER, .607 TS%

SG Goran Dragic - 32.2 MPG, 16.0 PPG, 4.0 APG, 17.1 PER, .578TS%

SF PJ Tucker - 26.7 MPG, 7.7 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 11.7 PER, .580 TS%

PF Chris Bosh - 35.3 MPG, 21.5 PPG, 8.1 RPG, 22.7 PER, .573 TS%

C Tyson Chandler - 29.7 MPG, 10.7 PPG, 11.5 RPG, 22.9 PER, .718 TS%

I love this starting 5. Incredibly efficient scoring across the board with good contributions in other areas as well.

Bench

PF Brandan Wright - 18.9 MPG, 8.9 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 26.8 PER, .753 TS%

SF Ersan Ilyasova - 18.6 MPG, 10.1 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 18.8 PER, .569 TS%, 1 broken face

SG Rodney Stuckey - 23.7 MPG, 12.7 PPG, 2.8 APG, 16.7 PER, .517 TS%

PG Beno Udrih - 17.9 MPG, 7.4 PPG, 3.1 APG, 15.6 PER, .577 TS%

C Bismack Biyombo - 13.8 MPG, 4.4 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 19.6 PER, .583 TS%

PG Isaiah Canaan - 22.0 MPG, 9.6 PPG, 1.7 APG, 13.8 PER, .588 TS%

SF Austin Daye - 12.4 MPG, 4.2 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 2.5 PER, .361 TS% :X

The bench is fairly nice too except for it thins out quick up front. My other 6 picks are all on pace for < 200 minutes, and the idea of actually using Daye is terrifying. I'll probably be looking to trade one of my backup guards, Canaan most likely, for some comparable minutes up front.

Seems like a pretty good squad.

Jebus, good thing I went heavy on perimeter players early on because Lance Stephenson looks like he's going to be a bust in CHA. Thank God Danny Green and Patrick Beverley have been playing well.

PG Stephen Curry/Beverley/CJ Watson

SG Bradley Beal/Lance Stephenson

SF Danny Green /Lance Stephenson

PF/C poo-poo platter: Chris Andersen/Ed Davis/Patrick Patterson/James Johnson/Kyle O'Quinn

I think that will be a solid team flanking MVP candidate Stephen Curry.

Bosh is on a mission to destroy his FG%. He's 12-for-49 in the last 3 games, dropping it all the way to .415. He needs to suck a lot less for my team to be competitive.
I see your Bosh destroying his FG%, and I raise you Andre Drummond.
I'd laugh at you for Drummond's offensive woes, except I'm a Pistons fan. :kicksrock:
Brandon Jennings' has been sort of competent.
Update?

Currently 1st in Fantrax scoring

1st in minutes

1st in points

1st in 3PT with a margin of nearly 100

1st in whatever game score is

5th in rebounds and assists

6th in assist/turnover ratio

:hubris: My percentages could be a lot better and there's a long way to go. Every team is a couple of injuries away from trouble.

Oof - just looked at my team on fantrax.

I'm definitely going to need to trade guard(s) for big(s) when the season's done.

Guards - Lawson, Wade, Knight, Joseph

Top 3 drafted bigs - Pekovic, McRoberts, Hawes

Looks like no repeat this year.

Plumlee likely moving into my starting lineup. Lin, Landry, and Dunleavy primary subs. It's be super swell if Kirilenko figured things out and accrued 500 minutes over the second half of the season.
