*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (3 Viewers)

Which player is the best on a one-on-one fast break? The obvious answer is probably LeBron still, but John Wall is so amazingly fast with the ball and certainly in the running.
I'd take Monta Ellis over anyone except LBJ. Dude is one of the underrated finishers. Really knows how to use english.

Kyrie must average at least 1 amazing finish around the rim per night. He is part of any elite group that incorporates finishing, spin, use of glass, reverses...

Yup, as far as simply finishing goes I think he's the best guard in the league. He's kinda slow, though, and the original question was about a one-on-one break.

i hope someone keeps and advanced stat called whines per second or complains per foul and then i bet the rockets lead the league bam take that to teh bank brohans

I dont get this from houston's perspective. They promised him a starting role?
Yes. Our power forwards are undersized (jones) or light on rebounding a defense (donuts). The only holes on this team were someone to take minutes off of Ariza and Harden (hi Corey brewer) and a power forward that can handle other bigs in the playoffs like aldridge, griffin, and Duncan. If Josh smith commits himself to being the defensive presence he was four years ago than this is a huge get. If he insists on shooting Ill timed threes and clogging the lane on offense than he won't be in the rotation long.

This is now a team with all the pieces to contend for the title.

Seems like a downgrade on offense from your pal Donuts...?

Watch The Spurs 2014 run on NBAtv instead. It's almost over though... Good documentaries on NBAtv which of course are mostly repeats. Looking forward to some games and rooting against some family members today! :towelwave:

I had not paid too much attention to Steven Adams before reading about some of his "antics", so I have watched him closely today. I can see how he is annoying. He does little things that individually aren't much, but when they accumulate, I get why guys want to take a swing at him.

Adams is always making contact: a little grab here, a little grab there, a dip of the shoulder, an extended elbow, stepping on someone's foot....he's got all the tricks.

LETS GO HEAT!
Uh............They did? Loved seeing the luv with the Heat teammates and LeB, especially Dwade n him. My games are over so I can relax and watch the rest. Living in the Bay Area, my fam here all root for GS. I'll enjoy pissing them off by being the sole person rooting for the Clips! :towelwave:

And yay, games are on TNT the rest of the way!

That has got to be the worst fake fireplace I've ever seen...

So I put a bet on the Lakers at +10.5 cause, ya know, they're my team. Does it make me a bad person that I think my odds of winning are better now that Kobe isn't playing?

How about those Spurs today?

:P

(Hope you had a nice Xmas)

At least Miami won! :towelwave:
Granger's best game with the Heat. If he gets his act together, Wade & Andersen stay healthy and Bosh get's healthy, the Heat could make some noise. Lots of ifs. We're waiting for 2016, but a playoff run would be nice. BTW, couldn't a guy like Birdman help the Cavs?

Yeah I had several wtf moments during that game. As soon as they got the lead, they fell back again and it was another climb to get there again. Jeebus. Had more mini strokes during the Miami game though. Thought we were going to see the big Dwade meltdown and subsequent loss at the end there. They surprised me!

Meh, despite how I post in this thread, amazingly enough I'm still enjoying my holiday... but don't expect the same meh during the playoffs.... Hope you are enjoying your Xmas, too! ;)

No. It makes you realistic and logical in this particular situation.
Meh, I'd still take the Bulls.
Told ya.
Never said they would cover. Just that they are a better bet when Kobe doesn't play.

Office watercooler talk today regarding the Bucks over/under number at 24.5. Its a tough call, but if I had to put my retirement fund on one side or the other, I think I'd have to go under.
A little shocked that MIL faithful would be pessimistic on the tails of the opener. Yeah, they blew a big lead. But they had a big lead.

O.J. looked good, Sanders didn't die or kill anybody, and every other important piece of the team is just getting started. They'll only get better as the season goes. I think they fall a little short of 40, but way over 25. They were at 15 last year because the whole team was fat, or dead, or high-school aged, AND they were tanking. None of that's going on any more.
I think most fans are optimistic, certainly moreso than I. For me, there are too many question marks that have to break in the Bucks favor to win much more than last season. As I said, 25+ is a tough call right now, but the realistic me would go under if forced to choose.
With yesterday's win, the Bucks have now matched their win total of last season (15) and have a few good looking young players in place for the future. With Parker out for the season, they're in a good position to mail it in and do some deals to position the team for the future. I'm surprisingly pleased with Jason Kidd so far. Did not have high hopes for him in Milwaukee.

Uh, Vince Carter???

Man the Bucks seem to know how to play the Hawks - close one in Milwaukee. Not sure what they are doing to slow the Hawks down but they are playing with a ton of confidence and the Hawks are not.
