*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (2 Viewers)

Does anybody know how to find lineup stats on a game to game basis? I'm really curious to exactly how terrible the Felton-Lawson backcourt has been this series.

I went to the Nuggets-Thunder game last night and got pissed and left with about 44 seconds left. I didn't realize until looking through the play by play that the Nuggets got it within a point with 14 seconds left. The play by play can only tell me so much, so can somebody fill me in on the last two possessions? How did Ibaka get a dunk within 4 seconds after JRs 3 and how was a 29 foot jumper the best shot the Nuggs could get as time expired?

Awesome, thanks.Jesus, Nene completely effed that final Thunder possession. And that was a tough no call on that final JR jumper, Harden was bodying up on JR all the way through that play... not that it would have mattered with JR's horrible 16 foot free throw shooting.
Well, I didn't see the foul. Looked to me like Harden played great defense. Too bad, I was really rooting for Denver to win that game.

### ####it Tim, I typed that whole thing out.

IIRC, JR hit back to back triples to close the gap in a very short amount of time. After the second one, the Thunders quickly got the ball in and two quick long passes Had Ibaka wide open for a dunk. He could/should have dribbled around, but took the easy two points. On the last possession, they ran it for JR again (he was hot) and he got stuck bodied up against the defender (Thabo?) who would not let him get airspace. He forced a tightly contested three, trying to draw a foul. He immediately started whining for a call after the ball left his hands. I thought the play that Karl drew up was a little weak, honestly (and I love George Karl). There has to be a better way to get him (or someone) open for three. They have several threats from the arc. Also JR was visibly pissed that he didn't get into the game until very late. Around the 4 minute mark.
Karl does some strange stuff in-game which I have never been particularly fond of (having Melo was a blessing because Karl's input on the final play wasn't really needed), but his overall package as a coach is very strong. That was a ####ty play he drew up at the end of the game, IMO he should have had his taller shooters in with JR (I probably would have ran out there with Gallo, Chandler, Afflalo, JR and Lawson). Getting the ball in to Nene 20 feet away from the hoop completely kills your chances of getting a second look if the first shot misses because at best that first shot is going up with 4 or 5 seconds left. They should have ran Harden through two or three screens and gotten JR the ball with 10 seconds to work.

OMG that steal was awesome.

PS, not sure how Kobe was not fouled on that drive.
How did Gasol end up on the floor during the previous steal?
I didn't see this one?
The one where Fisher trapped Paul I think and then someone on the Hornets fell on the ground and looked like he used his legs trip or slow down Gasol.
I'll just assume Fisher flopped and ended up tripping him. : )

It looked to me like Harden was pushing up on JR as he shot that and even fell forward a step as JR was forced to fade away. Its not a call I would expect on a 29 foot jumper to end the game, but if that was a 15 foot jumper in the 2nd quarter that would have been a foul.

Paul is leading this game in points, rebounds, assists and steals... that has to be pretty close to a first in a playoff game.

ETA: Since 1985 nobody has ever thrown up a game of 27-14-13

Stupid of the Hornets to go for the quick score after getting the jump ball. They should have drained clock since they had the ball and a 4-point lead with 40 seconds left. Drain 24 seconds off or make them foul you.

Well, Paul was outstanding. But the Lakers had lapses where they did not play well- especially at the end of the half and the start of the third.

Disappointed, but not surprised. Small quick PGs are the achilles heel of this Lakers squad - see Aaron Brooks last year.

Gotta close this out in 6 to save some energy.

The Cheryl and Reggie show has got to go, good god. Nice tats Cheryl, lol. Who woulda thought they'd both end up on the mike? Yikes.

Lakers have ZERO chance at repeating; it was a good run. We'll see if the FFA bandwagoners are still around during the rebuild.

Brooks was 2 years ago. But I think the real achilles heel is that they get lazy on defense. There are stretches when they just don't give a damn.

Are you interesting in laying some money down on this? I will bet you $100 right now that the Lakers win it all this year, so long as they stay healthy.

Dude, I'm calling out your Laker chops if you're saying they have ZERO chance at winning it this year. That's crazy talk bro.

I'll take that bet.

Done. So long as none of the Lakers key players get hurt- their 5 starters plus Lamar Odom.

Vegas won't even give you those odds.

Knicks Gone Fishin'. Love It.

Chuck and Kenny summed it up pretty well with them. They're a long long long ways from being a contender. Need a PG, an identity, some sort of chemistry, someone to play defense, someone to rebound. They got 2 good offensive players. Cupboard is pretty bare after that.

DONE.ETA. Give me a break with the injury footnote. Make the bet like a man or don't.

Probably not. I'm a sucker for my team. But I really do think they're the best team in basketball, and I still am skeptical anyone's going to win 4 games off them. I'm happy to take the bet, though I wish it had been with Brong. That's over now; I can't afford to bet twice.

They won't; hope me and my chops are wrong, but I'm pretty convinced at this point. Kobe is too old now, it's time to accept it (I did last year).

Some more of you folks should hop on this tim bet.

I (we) get Miami, Boston, Philly, Orlando, Chicago, Indiana, Atlanta, Oklahoma, Dallas, Portland, San Antonio, Memphis, New Orleans, Denver

Tim gets LA

I will let you back out of this bet tim, FYI

No thanks. But it's only with you. I can afford to lose $100, not more than that.

LA should still be the favorite to win it all, but...

:goodposting:
If it was a one team vs. one team bet of course I would. But with this bet, the Lakers vs. the World, I can demand the injury proviso. Still good odds for Moops.
WTF does moops have to do with anything, it was me who you challenged. Then later, with a caveat. :lmao:
