This draft the Sixers will have their own pick (currently 1.03), Miami's pick (protected top 10) which they may not get if the Bosh thing is serious, OKC's pick (protected Top 18), and the famous Lakers pick (protected Top 5).
They're very likely to get the three picks owed to them either this year or next. So 5 firsts of varying quality over the next two years.
The thing about aiming for Summer of 2016 to "activate", for lack of a better word, makes sense. MCW is good, but he's a flawed player, and he'd be nearing free agency at that time. Now they could set it up to where they have a ton of cap space, Noel, Embiid, possibly Russell or Mudiay with their pick this year, possibly a Jaylen Brown or Ivan Rabb with next year's pick, Saric coming over, and a battalion of Euros percolating overseas.
It may take a long time to set it all up, but it could be amazing.
