Baby!

Wife and I could use some help. We just found out we are having our 4th child.... A boy.... Need help coming up with a unique but not strange name.... We like names such as Rowen, Pheonix, Koda, Mance, and Valon.... Any other suggestions?

Couldn't get my wife to pull the trigger on this one when we had our son but was pushing her on Tavan.

My rules for naming my children were:

1) The name will quickly identify the sex of the child without question.

2) When the name is said the spelling of the name will be able to be spelled rather easily by most people on the first attempt.

3) When the name is said in most cases someone will not have to ask them to repeat due to it being too unique/confusing.

Great advice.... Is there a class I should take for this lol

Shiny Balloons

Race

Larry David (like George Michael)

Only rule should be that the sound at the end of the last syllable of the first name not be repeated in the first syllable of the last. For example, Dirk Kinkle. F that.

A name has a huge psychological affect on a child. Dont make it too unusual
Totally agree.... Its challenging when trying to be "different".... She is big on going against the flow.
Well considering that "the flow" is to give your kids super-douchey names, her best bet is to go with John.
"the flow" ....would be going with john. Got your point though you got it backwards
You definitely did not get the point.

I would add rhyming to that rule

You can't mean the social norm is to give "super-douchey" names.... cause that would be incorrect.

It's certainly getting there.

If you want a serious answer, then we need the names of the other kids and probably a similar last name (keep your anonymity).

I can tell you that my wife and I were not efficient as we were about to leave the hospital without a name.

It's certainly getting there.
More so than in the past for sure... Considering the new cool names rarely crack the top 100 and dont stick....while names like Michael, Christopher, Katelyn, Nichole, John, and Allison are always there... Would say its a long way off before we ever get there. Imho

That's because there's a never-ending list of douchey names. Your kind will win the same way ants can take down a wildebeest.

First two would please the old school crowd...

christopher Michael and Katelyn Nicole

Second we incorporated a family name from wife's side ....was her grandfather's name. "street"

So third is....Keane Street

As far as last name...can use "Hale" as a comparable stand in.

To your story.... My dads name was changed 3 weeks after they brought him home.... Its a big decision.....tough one
