Netflix Original: Stranger Things (1 Viewer)

A question occurred to me.

Vecna's plan comes to fruition and the rifts start opening in Hawkins.

They start at the four gates and converge on the center of town.

How did Steve, Nancy, Robin, and Dustin escape the Upside Down?

For example, I’ve heard Running Up That Hill every day on the radio for a month and even on regular pop music stations that never would have played that song.
Yeah, such a great song that's going to get (if not already) the "Don't Stop Believin'" overplay ad nauseum treatment.

It's already happening. I'm hearing it in random places when out and about. That never used to happen.
I haven't heard it in public yet, but bound to sooner or later. Glad to see a killer song get appreciated by the younger generation, but not to the extent of oversaturation.

Hope kids also get familiar with her version at The Secret Policeman's Ball in 1987, accompanied by David Gilmour and the also great Tony Franklin (and his top 10 mullet of the '80s).

Yeah but didn’t remember such a cool looking sword being available. Turns out there is more to that sword in particular: https://www.instagram.com/p/CfmlUAcOpc5/
Very interesting. I love that sword!

By the way, the link said the sword made an appearance in episode 7 when it was used by one of the prisoners.

Edit:  I rewatched the scene and one of the prisoners does wield the sword.

With the month break between 1-7 & 8+9 feel like people forgot this detail. The sword was pretty distinctly shown in that episode IIRC. I watched them all together because I was behind so the sword being there in the yard didn’t stick out to me as an issue.

Finished the entire series in about 10 days. Preferred Season 3 until the last few episodes of Season 4. Felt like Season 4 was the slowest until the last 3 episodes, and those may have turned it into the best season of them all. Very solid stuff to finish. Glad that moron basketball captain dude died. Just a terrible character all-around.

But a perfect encapsulation of the 80s-era high school bad guy.

SPOILER AHEAD!!!

YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!!!

They may indeed find a way to bring Max back in Season 5, but they indicated at the end of the finale that she’s gone. When El was holding her hand in the hospital room, she went into Max’s mind and Max wasn’t there, intimating that she’s brain dead. That’s why El was so destroyed.

I think if they wanted her dead they wouldn't have bothered having El bring her back.  We're basically at a point in the show where supernatural forces can do literally anything so I would guess ultimately they plan on bringing her back some way or another.

Steve is getting screwed again. This dude deserves to have every lady begging him for it at this point, but somehow he appears to keep getting mocked by everyone.

I haven't read anything since season 4 came out, about to catch up.  I just watched the final 2 episodes, and this was just so danged good... but most importantly, Master of Puppets and Conan's sword!

I ❤️ this post. I remember waiting to pick up the latest issue of Guitar for the Practicing Musician so I check out the tab for latest metal hits! (Not that I was ever good enough to learn the solos)
I predicted Ride the Lightning for exactly this reason.

Great season.  Max's escape in episode 4 an all-time favorite TV scene for me.

Do we know 001's age?  Vecna being 11's father would be ultimate 80's movie homage.

I heard this song came back from the 80s due to Stranger Things.

Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’ Music Video Crosses 100 Million YouTube Views Threshold

Thanks, ”Stranger Things“

Kate Bush is still making a comeback, thanks to “Stranger Things” Season 4.

The music video for her song “Running Up That Hill” soared past 100 million views on YouTube over the weekend. The video was first uploaded to YouTube in January 2011. As of May 25, it had 48.2 million views, according to Variety.

“Running Up That Hill” plays an integral role in the latest season of Netflix’s sci-fi series, and it’s been taking the world by storm ever since the series premiered on May 27. Just two days after the first seven episodes of Season 4 had been released, “Running Up That Hill” also catapulted to the No. 1 spot on iTunes and landed on streaming charts for the first time...

He killed his mother and sister in 1959 when he was around 10. This would have made him in his early 20s when 11 was born in 1971-ish, and in his early 30s when 11 sent him to the Upside Down in 1979.

Kate Bush said of her song:

"I really like people to hear a song and take from it what they want. But originally it was written as the idea of a man and a woman swapping with each other. Just to feel what it was like, from the other side"

I'm fairly certain that now that Max's mind is empty, Vecna will fill that void and be free to roam about the "real" world.

Meanwhile, Max's consciousness is trapped in the Upside Down and we'll see how our heroes go rescue her...or don't. I'm which case maybe Max becomes as corrupted as Vecna.

This show masterfully weaves music into it's narrative.  I mean Running up that Hill is a terrible song, but it's so closely linked to Season 4, I couldn't imagine it without it.

Nah, they couldn’t do that. He was like 18-22 in the show when she was like 10-11ish.  Also, they showed her mom multiple times so it wouldn’t make any sense.

Man, I was really not into this season over the first 2-3 episodes, but it has more than made up for some of the overly done cheese/teen angst upfront.  I still need to watch the final two episodes, but this is well done overall.  You had to know something was up with that kid back in 1959 -- it made no sense that he "fell into a coma" while the mom and daughter were killed.
