Hey Sharks!

Sorry for the delay in posting this -- the ol' Faletti's been sick as a dog this week.

For those of us still in the playoffs, have no fear; the Audible is here to serve your week 15 match-up needs. For the Drill this week, though, we deciding to do something a little different...

Newsflash: there are a lot of college bowl games on TV over the holidays. This week, The Drill helps you pare down your viewing schedule by highlighting the college players most likely to have a major impact on fantasy football in 2008. Colt Brennan, Mike Hart, Malcolm Kelly, and others will make their mark next year, and we'll help you form your own early scouting report. We all remember the impact players like Adrian Peterson, Trent Edwards, Dwayne Bowe, Marshawn Lynch, Sidney Rice, Anthony Gonzalez, and others had on fantasy football this year. We will also be previewing the bowl games on the Audible as the approach.

As always, thanks for watching and listening!

Adarius Bowman and James Hardy are both monsters. Great receivers with excellent body control that can get in and out of breaks quickly. Especially bowman; when you factor in him learning to block down field, with his size/physicality, the considerations could be enormous. Unfortunately for him, he may have not regained all his explosiveness by the time the combine rolls around- leaving his draft position far lower than he should go. Marcus Monk also fits this mold, albeit less so because he simply does not have the speed that Bowman used to have.

I think an adequate comparison for Bowman is Reggie Williams, as their size/strengths match up very similarly. However, Bowman may be a better overall prospect as he isn't a lazyass like Williams and runs more crisp routes at this stage of his college development.

And dont forget about Jordy Nelson <3. Lots of Big XII recieving talent this year. :boxing:

Oh man, as a Texas Longhorn fan, I will never, ever, ever forget about Jordy Nelson. :pickle:

Hah! How do you decide which screens to grab, 5-ish? You always seem to pick a winner...
Well, between Sig and Lammey at least one of them manages to look like they're passing something unpleasant at least once per Drill. So it's pretty easy.(Calm down, both of you. I only jag because I love. :pickle: )

Thats because we make midnight runs to Whataburger after we pick Lammey up at the airport every Monday night.

Well this time Bloom looks liek he's in the middle of a Rerunish 'Hey Hey Hey'.Or he's stoned....Good work as always gents...ps -- USC guy here and nice call on Booty out of my alma mater BTW - OK Qb, but I always thought the early season Heisman hype was more flash than substance. He makes some boneheaded decisions. Like you said - good leader, decent tools - but I agree - limited fantasy outlook.Baker is the real deal tho.

People (certain NFL draft sites, for example) say Baker could be considered soft in the run game. I've seen him a few times and that hasn't been my impression. Where do you fall on that one, NoFBinLA? I feel like just because his pass pro technique is even better than his run blocking, that doesn't make him 'soft.'

I agree that in what I saw this season, he didn't seem that soft on the run - and mind you, USC struggled for a while with O-line injury issues (including Baker) - so IMO, the fact that overall he held up well speaks volumes. Could he improve them? Undoubtedly, but I think they are good as is and will only get better as he gets to the pro level. But certainly that he might need to improve them shouldn't automatically label him as soft against the run. Now, whether his pass pro skills are more important than whatever deficiences people percieve in his Run Pro skills - well ultimately that may well depend upon who looks to draft him raw. A team that relies on the pass alot more (the Pats are a great example this year, but I suppose you could look often at the Colts as well, Addai aside) might be willing to overlook any issues with run pro, while a team that's all about the run (Minn this season) might be more concerned that he's not 'up to speed'. (mond you, in re-reading what I just wrote - surely none of those teams need someone RIGHT NOW, so all three would probably groom him for long term and not worry about throwing him into the fire immediately - so maybe not the best examples.... )What I really liked is that it seemd as though he grew into a good leader roll on the o-line. I think that speaks volumes on a team like USC.

Okay....that settles it. For the final Drill of the year, Sig better be donning suspenders and beret and doing his best Rerun Dance. Faletti, you can knock the lenses out of Cecil's glasses and borrow the frames and portray "Rog."Cecil, of course, will be playing the role of "Big Shirley."If you guys DON'T do this, well, then.....I'll just have to take steps.

All I can sayis that it's a good thing you don't sign the checks, 5-ish.

Thanks toastedgnome! We've got another big player to watch today with stud RB Kevin Smith, so folks should tune in at 3:30ET if they wanna see a future NFL and fantasy starter...

Kevin Smith was more Jersey Girl than Clerks.

He did get banged up in this game, and that affected his performance.

35 carries for 115 yards

3 catches for 12 yards

you could see his burst on certain plays. had he not been hurt I think he could've rushed for 200
