Nah, if he's OB and the ball hits him, dead ball. Like catching a punt with a foot on the line.I don't understand. The player wasn't out of bounds, the ball may or may not have hit him, the ball did not hit out of bounds, kickoffs are free kicks...no matter how you spin it, it should have been Arizona's ball right? Disclaimer: I have not gone back and read this whole thread...
I thought that is what the referee announced.Judging from the fact that more than half the folks here are saying it didn't, and the burden of proof on review would be to prove CONCLUSIVELY that it did (since the ruling on the field said nothing about it hitting a player out of bounds) you are incorrect. It hit the player's elbow clearly. Sorry but you're wrong. Eagles ball.

Great play there to set up Rackers. Nice clock management by Warner.
Amazing that he is 37 years old. What's strange is that he was phenomenal against the blitz in St. Louis, which is what made the Martz system so effective, and had people talking about how his arena league play was instrumental in his NFL success. Then suddenly he goes to the Giants, and he's taking sacks left and right because he's too slow and can't get the ball away quickly enough. Then back to the Cards, and suddenly he's a genius again. That's not to take anything away from the season he's had, because he deserves a ton of credit for everything form beating out the guy the Cards wanted to win the competition in training camp to throwing for the second most regular season yards to leading them to an 18 point lead at halftime in the NFCCG. But it's hard to overestimate the impact of top quality receivers guys like Warner, Manning and co. have had on their relative success. What they're saying about Warner handling the blitz can't be underestimated. Those quick reads are what's making this possible.
Like a cow's opinion. It doesn't matter.It's a moo point.
Is that how the current Cardinal waxing of Philly is being spun now?hey, looks like mcnabb is being a true leader...he's taught the whole team how to choke![]()
if the eagles drop a DE when they blitz heavy like that, the quick hit to the slot is no longer an option. Baffles me that they wont fire zone blitz and instead just bring everyone from a sideWhat's strange is that he was phenomenal against the blitz in St. Louis, which is what made the Martz system so effective, and had people talking about how his arena league play was instrumental in his NFL success. Or to underestimate the effect of a lingering hand injury while in NY.ETA--Not to mention, threw for over 2000 yds while only starting 9 games and completed 63% of his passes. Only thing lacking while in NY was that he had only 6 TDs and 4 INTs in that time. He also won 5 of his first 7 games there. They then dropped 2 in a row and moved to Eli. Warner was far from the problem in NY as they had a top draft pick ready to move in as the starter. What's strange is that he was phenomenal against the blitz in St. Louis, which is what made the Martz system so effective, and had people talking about how his arena league play was instrumental in his NFL success. Yes McNabb is the reason the defense is on a pace to give up 48 points today. Is that how the current Cardinal waxing of Philly is being spun now?hey, looks like mcnabb is being a true leader...he's taught the whole team how to choke![]()
The ruling on the field doesn't have to say the ball hit a player, just that the ball was ruled out of bounds. The ball is ruled out of bounds when it touches the ground out of bounds or when it touches a player who is out of bounds. Two senerios same ruling - ball is out of bounds.Judging from the fact that more than half the folks here are saying it didn't, and the burden of proof on review would be to prove CONCLUSIVELY that it did (since the ruling on the field said nothing about it hitting a player out of bounds) you are incorrect. It hit the player's elbow clearly. McNabb missed some throws early, but c'mon. 11-19 and a pick on a tipped ball is not the reason they are losing big. The D is getting lit up.Is that how the current Cardinal waxing of Philly is being spun now?hey, looks like mcnabb is being a true leader...he's taught the whole team how to choke![]()
He was when the ball touched his arm. The call was correct. Whether it should be reviewable or not is another matter.Yeah, I know, but I didn't think he was out of bounds...Nah, if he's OB and the ball hits him, dead ball. moo moo, I love you, I know yer a cow but anything will doo.....................Like a cow's opinion. It doesn't matter. It's a moo point.
taking nothing away from 'zona right now, but the Eagles are playing horribly. 3 bad penalties, inaccuracy by McNabb, poor clock management by AR, dropped INTs. This game should be 21-17 ARI at the half. Instead, its a blowoutIs that how the current Cardinal waxing of Philly is being spun now?hey, looks like mcnabb is being a true leader...he's taught the whole team how to choke![]()
Mcnabb is the reason, however, that the offense has put up six points so far today though, right?Yes McNabb is the reason the defense is on a pace to give up 48 points today. Is that how the current Cardinal waxing of Philly is being spun now?hey, looks like mcnabb is being a true leader...he's taught the whole team how to choke![]()
Come on BK. McNabb and the O have been less then stellar, but the Defense is choking away the game. We've only had four possessions!hey, looks like mcnabb is being a true leader...he's taught the whole team how to choke![]()
I agree that it's hard to pin that on McNabb. What about the pace for 12 offensive points, despite multiple breaks like the interception return for a fumble right back to where they started, or three Cards kicks/punts going out of bounds?Yes McNabb is the reason the defense is on a pace to give up 48 points today. Is that how the current Cardinal waxing of Philly is being spun now?hey, looks like mcnabb is being a true leader...he's taught the whole team how to choke![]()

are you even watching the game? Forced throw for the INT (it was tipped because he was never open). TD to lewis missed because he threw 10 yds to the outside instead of to the post. Behind and low and virtually every throw preventing YAC (a key to the WCO). Oh, and yet another horrific intentional grounding callThat's funny, I could've sworn I was a Dolphin fan.Don't watch the elbow, watch the ball. A ball does just change direction and rotation in mid-air for no reason. It's physics. Two Philly fans, one of whom is watching on a 61 inch television, disagree. No one thinks it clearly hit the elbow. It's hard to tell from the angles we saw, but it looked to me like it didn't.It hid the player's elbow clearly. Sorry but you're wrong. Eagles ball. That was NOT the ruling on the field. And there was no conclusive evidence that it hit him. Cards ball.It doesn't matter because they wouldn't have overtuned the play anyways. It hit the player's elbow while he was out of bounds.
What's the alternative? Alot of hugging, maybe some ropes course and Chunky soup?It will be interesting to see how the Eagles respond in the second half. If they meltdown in the locker room and start yelling and pointing fingers, it's all over, and it'll be apparent that significant changes need to be made.
agreed. but this should be a close, high scoring, game right now. If McNabb makes 2 more accurate throws, this is a 1 score gameCome on BK. Refs messed up the call...but it seemed pretty clear it hit the player while HE was out of bounds. It should have been Philly ball at the 40.The ruling on the field doesn't have to say the ball hit a player, just that the ball was ruled out of bounds. Probably the same was as the last 5 they've lost?I am just wondering how the Philly fans are handling this, after being so cocky through the playoff run only to watch their team choke away another NFC Championship game. It can't be good.
please, Brown needs to go find Freddie and hang out for the rest of his career. Doesnt matter who is at WR if the throw is 3 yds behind themI can't believe we bench R brown for baskett , avant , lewis . pathetic.
I agree with that, but it's hard to put this entirely on DMac. The defense has been terrible to this point. That said, I don't think this game is over by any means. This Philly Offense can certainly put up 20 points on this Cardinal Defense in a half if the defense can play even remotely close to it's potential.agreed. but this should be a close, high scoring, game right now.
