NFL.com (1 Viewer)

When I go to NFL.com and try to watch the videos it seems like half the time they don't work. It's been an issue all year long for me and happens on more than one computer at more than one location. When I click the play button the video doesn't load, the area where the video would be turns into a grayish blank rectangle. I rarely go to NFL.com to watch the videos, but when I do I would like them to work. When I first noticed this problem I figured the NFL was just trying to work out the kinks with their fancy new website. Now that the regular season is over and the problems remain, I want to know if anyone else is experiencing these same issues.

So?

I actually was coming here to post the same thing. It seems that the players simply is not initializing because of an overriding script of that video ad on the side (video game ad). I'm not familiar with flash so I'm not so sure.

I can almost never get them to play with Firefox, but have more luck using IE. Though sometimes they don't work there either.

I've never had trouble using IE, but my mate (who also runs Vista) always has trouble watching the videos using Firefox.

I rarely get them to work. You are not alone.

That's why I get pissed when the NFL takes the videos off of youtube.

I've had the same problem all year. However, I've found that if I click on the same clip from the menu/listings at the bottom half of the screen, it plays fine. The only problem is when I can't find the clip I want in the menu.

If you are using Firefox with Adblock the videos may not work. Turn off Adblock and reload the page; things should work a bit better.

YMMV,

I have had many issues as well. I even have had the video start to play, and about a minute in it cuts to an ad and then locks up. I then have to start over and the same thing happens. NFL.com video sucks.

Edit to add: Sometimes if I single click the play button it will not play but if I double click the play button, it will play.

You can also try clearing your cache: Tools > Internet Options... > (General Tab) Temporary Internet Files > Click on Delete Files > Check Delete All Offline Content > OK

I was getting this problem before installing adblock. Just to see if it helped, I disabled adblock on one of the pages and it still didn't work. :)
