The shutdown corner myth is pretty well known.
The "you have to establish the running game early" myth was shattered by the Patriots last year. That should be changed to "you have to have the ability to establish the run in the 2nd half." If only Jack Pardee's Houston Oilers had the ability to establish a running game.
I like the idea of counting missed fg's as turnovers. The Skins - Seahawks playoff game last year is a perfect illustration of how devastating a missed fg can be.
I think ideally turnovers = fumbles lost + interceptions thrown + fg's missed + punts blocked -- (end of half/game desperation interceptions thrown and fumbles lost).
