NFL Survivor 2024 Discussion - Let's win, fellas (1 Viewer)

I usually try to avoid the biggest favorite if I can, when they do lose it takes out a bunch of the pool

I also do multi entry though so likely will use some bengals

These look good too, although I don’t really like the division game for the saints

Bills
Saints
Seahawks

maybe Miami? Falcons?

Bears seem like a trap, I don’t want to back a rookie in his first start. On the flip side Bucs could be a sneaky play too going against Washington

Going with Chicago this week. I'm not worried about Caleb and his first game. The Chicago defense is a great play as well in DFS or home leagues again the Levis led Titans.

I can see people liking Cincy with them being the largest spread this week but New England's defense is still pretty good and Chase is still looking as very iffy if he plays or not.

I think it depends on the size of the survivor pool. I am in a smaller one and every year, people try and get cute week one and two, hoping to save the big teams for later and we always seems to lose 25% of the entries.

I am going Cincy without a question.

Seattle looks like a pretty nice choice. Rest of their schedule is not great; you will likely not be in a position where you'd use them for the rest of the year. They're favored by almost a TD against a rookie QB. Right now they are only favored in four more games, and no line close to what they're getting here this week. Might be "getting cute" but they should come away on top.

While I still like Seattle, I went ahead and picked Cincy. Just wanna survive Week 1 and see what's up for the next month or so.

Chase is iffy and hasn't practiced, Higgins might have a hammy issue (Zac Taylor said "we'll see" about him playing) - I'm avoiding the Bengals and hoping they get upset, wreaking havoc.
Interesting. I may change mine.... I am in a "just for fun" Survivor pool through one of my MFL leagues but still don't wanna go out like a chump in the 1st week. I may flip to Seattle.

The Bengals game is so obvious. But they always start slow. This might be the toughest opening week I can remember. At the moment I like Atlanta over Pittsburgh.

Didn't feel good about my Bengals so had switched to Buffalo. But switched to Seattle on a hunch last minute this morning.

Wow, I assume the majority of the posters who took Cincy will not be returning to this thread. I went Bills and Bears in my huge pool. I had a lot of regrets around 2:00 followed by blissful joy by 4:00. About a third of my pool had Cincy. Onto week 2!

I took the bungles, but it was only the espn freebie.
It was really a no lose situation.
:towelwave:

Picking Carolina's opponent the next few weeks seems like a solid strategy, especially in double elimination.
Chargers,Raiders,Bengals,Bears and Falcons
My issue with this is I try to follow the three basic rules of never pick road teams, avoid division games, and avoid prime time.

Carolina looks abysmal, but do we really want to bank on the Chargers going cross-country?

One of my pools is double elimination so going to use Chargers there. In my one and done pools going Lions or Houston.

I have to admit that I am bad at these things, but can anyone envision LV flying into Baltimore for a 10am start their time and beating the Ravens to make them 0-2? It's probably too obvious but for those just trying to survive another week...

CIN knocked out about 25% in my pool.
Knocked out 2874 of 9681 in my pool, including 5 out of my 10.

Dude what pool is this and how can I get involved next year?
You don't have to wait, he does a week 5 pool, and a Week 11 pool, always with a few thousand in each.

Shoot me a DM

Yeah that’s crazy big pool, I’m in one with 3K and another is like 2K
I'm in one on Draft Kings that started at just over 77k players. Down to 49k+ after week one

I really want to save the Ravens if possible. Kind of eyeballing Houston at home against the Bears at the moment. Not sure I'd be comfortable with them any other time. On the other hand, I don't think I'd take the Ravens the three weeks after next (at DAL, vs. BUF, @CIN) so maybe I should just take them now.

A few good options this week but I’m going with Baltimore. They will have extra rest and I don’t see how they go 0-2 with a loss to the Raiders, who looked rough last week.

Mixing it up with Chargers/Ravens/Colts

Two on the Ravens, that's my brother's call, but I don't love it. Their line is not good, and everyone and their mother will be on them this week.

Colts at GB is a risk, but will hardly be used. Malik Willis, man
