NFL trade rumors: Who are you stashing in case they are moved? ...Who would you pick up as they fill the void? (3 Viewers)

Jakobi Meyers to JAX
That’s underwhelming but could be the biggest deal.
Underwhelming is the Pats adding free agent Brendon Rice (son of Jerry) as practice squad filler given Boutte's hamstring issue. Pretty much confirms NE won't be making a big WR play.

Pundits say edge or RB is what NE is shopping for, but not a big name.

Pundits also say LV may not be done selling off pieces...TE Michael Mayer to NE please (a quality third TE is needed).

I'm hearing Tony Pollard to NE, and Rhamondre maybe going on IR for the toe.

Nothing final yet, but that's what I'm hearing.

ETA: Have heard some Mayer to Green Bay chatter as well.

Rumor out there that Owner Amy doesn’t want to do a deal with Vrabel…again just a rumor but it is coming from Giardi and he is not one to throw BS out there.

Not much left after JSN gets his 10-15 targets, plus Kupp if healthy and an ascending Horton.

Shaheed may be there as much for KR/PR as anything.
He was barely startable in New Orleans though. He is WR 39 on the year in my league and is ranked ROS outside the top 40

I'm guessing he will have an impact as a WR IRL but not with respect to fantasy. You get a speed guy like Shaheed to tilt the defense and open up targets for your other WRs

Thanks, that sums up a lot of it thought I do not think he was acquired to be a returner.

Shaheed had a nice role with the Saints, had 4 catches every game and seemed to have a connection with Shough, he sure liked throwing to him.

Also, and this one is huge to me, has to acclimate in-season, very tough.

There are positives. He beat the bye week, got a better QB and re-united with Kubiak which might assist the acclimation. But on the whole it was not broke, he was someone I was going to start in a few leagues this week and putting him back in a lineup could be weeks away if ever for ROS.

Cause Shough was funneling targets to Shaheed as if WR1. Looked like they have more chemistry.
Now Shaheed goes into a WR room with JSN, Kupp, Horton.

True, but his potential for 100 yd days just went way up. He's only had 1 this year.

Agree - you don’t pay that much for a returner but that’s icing on the cake and he’s one of the better KRs in the league. That may not mean a lot from a fantasy perspective, but definitely an NFL perspective - especially with the new kickoff rules.

Kupp is washed. I think this is an upgrade for Shaheed.

As with most WR trades though, it takes time to build chemistry in a new system and it’s not like he’s being brought in to be the alpha (or even beta). Agree that his biggest value may come from stretching the field for others.

More like dang for Horton isn't it?

As a guy that is decimated by byes and has to start Shaheed in two leagues this week, this doesn't make me feel good having to learn a new offense on the fly.

Probably. Every time I watch Horton play I think "dang, I wish I had more shares of him"

We'll see. I just think getting Klint players he wants and has experience with has been good so far. Small sample size and all.

Seattle doing good football moves.

That to.

FWIW I think Horton has looked great, and imagine most agree with that, and Shaheed is super underrated, has so much more in his bag then he's given credit and I"ll go so far as to way when I watched the Saints this year I thought he was their best WR. Kupp looks shot but what they paid him and the blocking he brings I'm having a hard time seeing them bench him this year when he's healthy and we know JSN does not leave a lot of leftovers.

Plus two good looking young TE's.

This might the most loaded offense I can recall that only provides 1-2 players that people actually want to start.

Let's not leave out Adonai Mitchell when talking about the Sauce Gardner deal, that's a guy who could absolutely be the Jets #2 WR. He gets open easily, he's just got issues with concentration and consistency, 2 things that could be fixed by more playing time. He was a 2024 2nd round pick, so in my eyes, the Jets just got a fortune for Sauce Gardner. Essentially 2 1sts and a 2nd, for a non-QB is basically unheard of for someone who is already on a pretty big contract.

Love this move for the Jets. For the Colts...I don't know. Sauce is an excellent CB, but he's Revis or peak Ramsey. He's more top-5ish than complete shutdown guy.

Not that he's gonna fall apart or anything, but I kinda wonder about JSN a bit with the Shaheed trade. Shaheed will almost certainly take a much bigger part of the pie than Cooper Kupp had been, and more importantly, JSN had been the deep guy for Seattle, whereas one would think given his role with Kubiak last season, that's a spot where Shaheed comes in, and maybe JSN goes back to the more intermediate routes.

It'll be interesting to see how it unfolds. Seattle wasn't on my radar at all for a WR, I figured they were happy with Horton to be the long-term #2.

JSN will be just fine. If anything, this forces the defense to think twice about double teaming him.

Can't help but wonder, if the Jets are willing to trade a guy they just signed to an extension like Sauce, would they also be willing to trade the offensive version of that in Garrett Wilson?

Yeah. I made some comment in the offseason to the affect of: people are going to forget that Shaheed showed a lot more of the route tree before he got hurt in 24.

It's just exciting. A likable team that is fun to watch.

Totally agree.

AD's a mistake prone knucklehead and that's how it is. But he's talented, maybe even gifted, and now he's on a team that will be willing to live with his mistakes, have little to no choice to make him the WR2, and will likely need to pass all day every day since they just dismantled what little on the team was any good.

Way this team is rolling I won't be shocked if he's the WR1 in the next few hours either.

Anything is possible especially after they just moved Sauce 4 months after extending him, but I'll say the same thing I did a few pages ago when people were talking about Olave or Waddle: If your plan is to draft a new QB next year, why would you get rid of a young, excellent WR with little to nothing behind them? At least in Shaheed's case he is a FA next year and turns 28.

Garrett Wilson is the type of guy who could absolutely swing things for some team. Who makes sense? If NY deals in division, NE and Buf both make sense, and one would think they wouldn't care about dealing in division as they obviously aren't expecting to be contending anytime soon.

Outside the division, tougher to see who would give up what I assume would be at least a 1st for a WR. Denver? Pittsburgh (feels unlikely, but Wilson has experience with Rodgers, who they've said they want back next year) darkhorse...maybe Tampa? Doesn;t sound like McMillan will be back this season, maybe Evans/Godwin are in worse condition than we know, and they could go with Wilson/Egbuka going forward?
