NFL viewership off 11% YOY (5 Viewers)

And 60 is probably the smallest package of channels you can get.  There are well over 200 independent channels available to view if you want.  Basically if you have almost any interest, there is a channel for you.  And on the rare case your interest is too niche, you can find a youtube channel almost certainly.

In Baltimore, PSL prices are down significantly, meaning people who bought them earlier have to take a loss.

This is a really good point. I know the guy I went in on with season tickets (he owned the PSLs) felt like a hostage with that thing.

The worst part about it was that as the PSL owner you were responsible for the person with that ticket no matter what. 

Sell your ticket, even through the Bears official ticket exchange program, and that guy does something wrong (fight, smoke in the stadium, be a drunken buffoon) it's on you. If it's something really bad, they'll flat out revoke your PSL and resell it at market price, keeping all the $ for themselves.

I watched walking dead and now watching the world series. I switch over to the nfl game on commercials and it seems like another snooze fest.

 
Chapman gets out of the inning. Switch it over and catch the tail end of a 60 yard run by Elliot. Damn, I missed an exciting play. Flag on the play. Guess I didn't miss anything.

 
Part of this has to be how many times games are on. It's gone from a must watch intense block of time on Sunday to games on Thursday, super early Sunday, Monday night and Sunday night in addition to the Sunday games. Seems that as the games are more spread out desire to watch them goes down due to they are always on.

it's that....plus it's almost they completely ignored what got them there.

I think without a doubt, fantasy football is the single most reason for the increase in popularity in football in the last ____ years (not sure the exact #).  Virtually every single guy that I know is in at least 1 league....and a lot of them are in multiple.  That's all and well.....until it becomes tedious.  Once MNF ends tonight, I have 24-48 (depending on league rules) hours to figure out if and who I want to put in my waiver wire claims.  Oh yeah, and I need to remember which league has which rules....so I might pick up joe blow in this league...but not in that league.

Now I know I'm partly to blame b/c I can quit at anytime....but 

you would think the NFL would be thinking about things like this....but they're not.

I admit I was tired of football yesterday. As a Skins fan, I started watching yesterday at 9:30. By 7:30, I was over watching football. Watched Walking Dead and the World Series instead.

Novelty is sports is a huge thing. There are many examples of this. See Atlanta not selling out WS games. After you've seen a million of them, you get the "I'll catch the next one" attitude. Spreading out the NFL product dilutes the experience and if you miss one game, you'll just catch it tomorrow. Or the next one or the next one until you just don't bother.

And the novelty factor of watching the Cubs/Indians fight for the WS is off the charts huge.

 
Sad part is I totally forget there was Sunday morning football this year..missed both of those games.

FOX had a triple header of NFL followed by the WS. That's a lot of stuff for one day on one network.

Lol, live on the West Coast and you either get used to it or don't watch,  since the NFL/networks try to jam 8-9 games at 10 AM PST.  One of the reasons that I think West Coast fans are considered to "not be as dedicated" as their East Coast brethren. Lots to do outdoors and you have to set aside most of the day light hours to watch the games on Sundays.

I've never figured out why the NFL doesn't stagger games throughout the day. Why not start some at 12pm, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 5pm, and 8:30pm? Instead of cramming all the games into either 1pm/4pm? They could even have games on more channels.

 
Good thing for the NFL they recently negotiated a new tv deal.  Methinks the price will be going down substantially next go round with the networks.

Well yeah, if ESPN keeps losing out on people cutting the cord, they're not going to be able to shell out billions for MNF
