NHL Season Thread: TB wins and Kucherov loves beer (1 Viewer)

So if Tampa decides to play their game, nobody is stopping them. They still have 5 wins to go, but if they keep playing like that, they’ll beat everybody remaining.

They played well, but they also got a lot of great bounces.  For some reason they don't bring that same intensity every night.  That kind of disrespect can get you into a game 7 where maybe they puck doesn't bounce in your favor.

They lock down these game 6 clinching situations. I expect they’ll do the same tomorrow.

Tampa wins games where most of those bounces go the other way anyway, but I see your point. I do wonder why they don’t always go hammer down, maybe it’s a pacing thing, maybe a line just has a bad night, but they are capable of so much. Still, as long as they bring the Cup back again, I won’t complain.

The Bolts have some occasional clunkers but they almost never get blown out, and are 27-10 since the playoffs started last year. I’ll almost certainly never get to experience this again so I’m soaking it all in.

It’s going to be funny when the Bruins re-sign all of their UFAs, put Rask on LTIR and then he comes back for Round 1 of the playoffs against two-time Cup champ Tampa.

It’ll be even funnier when Tampa crushes them anyway like the last two times they met in the playoffs.

We both have young kids.  I'm bummed mine won't be able to grow up remembering any of this really.  By the time they're passionate about sports (if they are) the Bucs will be back to being the Bucs, the Bolts will have to rebuild too, and the Rays will likely be in another city.

Yea my wife and I talk about this all the time. I say what a shame it is and she says “you don’t know maybe this will turn the Bucs around to where they are competitive every year.” I’m sorry babe are you not familiar with the Bucs?

However, I don’t think the Rays are leaving. It’s a leverage play. They aren’t leaving the 12th biggest market with spectacular tv ratings to go try and build something somewhere else. Not to mention losing the trop development money if they do.

I’m in the same boat and as selfish as it sounds we’ve given jerseys, hats,  footballs, and wall signs for gifts during this incredible window...but the love my 3.5 yr old has for the Bucs grows regularly because we throw a Bucs football a few times a week.

That’s great. Wish my kid would get into it. He just doesn’t care yet.
