Nipsey Sings Karaoke - Still The Same 06-04-20 (1 Viewer)

Proud of you. You've reeled in at least 2-3 notes of range since you started doing this, zeroing in on that shred to get on top of high, hard ones and dramatically improved  your falsetto transition. Lovin' it -
Thank you. My main issue (besides not being a singer) is that i'm doing these while seated in an office chair with my elbow on my knees leaning forward. It's all throat. It's funny, I'm standing up today goofing around and I hit the Band on Run note with ease. The other thing is I set up the microphone, put my two lousy speakers in front of it that play the youtube karaoke track, stick my face in between the speakers and belt it out. Almost impossible to get the level right doing that. I've gotten better at that part but it's lipstick on a pig. Need a better set-up.

the levels are surprisingly good under those circumstances. keep it up - no substitute for doing it. i have a very deep voice, so range was always a problem and i cant shred to get there. confidence is everything in framing the notes at the top of one's range, because straining up to it always sounds lame. regular making a fool of yourself to yourself kind of singing helps more than anything in that regard. keep on keepin on, it's fun to listen to.

Holy ####.  I don't think I've ever listened to these lyrics before.  Love how you brought "hot" and "air" to life the way you sang them.  This song is perfect for you.  For some reason, when listening to this one, I picture you (which is odd given I've no idea what you look like, so I guess I picture your avatar) playing the acoustic guitar on it, too.      This is my favorite non-Beatles one, though I'll admit to not having gone through the whole thread yet.  Apparently I was in here at some point a while ago because I had noted your Rocky Raccoon for my Beatles write-ups!

Good call, @The General.  As soon as I saw that, I thought it was an inspired choice.

It's a pretty great song.
