Chad Johnson (probable, neck) returned to a complete practice Friday.

An impressive recovery considering Johnson was taken off the field last week on a stretcher. With CB Samari Rolle out, FS Ed Reed appearing unlikely to play Sunday, and Chris Henry back from suspension, the Bengals' passing game should be hitting on all cylinders. Johnson stands to benefit.

Here's hoping that Baltimores banged up secondary game planned all week for Housh as the #1. After all with the season he's having most teams should be game planning to stop Housh rather than doubling CJ. I just hope CJ goes overlooked until game time, the Ravens concentrate on stopping Housh and Henry and CJ going off like he did in week 2. It's about time for him to do something!

Why do people keep saying this?? His stats are on par with the past two years, Johnson has always been a streaky player. A bunch of average games with a few monsters sprinkled in.

No he hasn't. That was definitely his modus operandi last year, where 41.5% of his scoring came in his two biggest games (which happened to be back-to-back), but prior to that, he was as consistent on a weekly basis as WRs come, especially in 2005 where his two biggest games only accounted for 22.3% of his scoring on the season (in 2004, his two best games accounted for 26.4%, and in 2003, they accounted for 24.4%). If you'd rather look at the stat in terms of weeks above a certain baseline instead of what percentage of his scoring came in "monster games", he still rates out as incredibly consistent from 2003-2005. He scored 10+ points in 25 out of 48 games over that stretch (52%, compared to 37.5% last year). In 2003-2005, he failed to break 8 points six, six, and five times. In 2006, he failed to break 8 points 8 times, or 50% of his games. In 2006, if you threw out his 2 biggest games, he averaged 7.57 per game. In 2003-2005, if you threw out his 2 biggest games of each season, he averaged 10.6, 9.7, and 11.1 per game. Chad Johnson has three career 30+ point games. Two of them came in his back-to-back monster weeks last year, and the third came in his monster week this year.In short, this whole boom-or-bust thing is a very recent development in Chad Johnson's career. I don't know if it's a fluke, or if it's perhaps the result of the emergence of Housh, or what... all I know is that Chad Johnson used to be uber-consistent from game to game, and now he's not anymore.

I actually just traded FOR Ocho Cinco in my main league (as a part of a much broader trade). I was a little wary of his injury, but he seems to be getting close to 100% already, which is excellent. I do hope teams focus on Housh, and if Henry gets some playing time, then that hopefully opens it up for ol' #85.
