***Offical MNF Thread Saints vs. Falcons*** (1 Viewer)

Can we get more lines drawn on the field, please?

We're not quite playing on a Parcheesi board yet.....
As long as there's nothing there besides the first down line when the play's actually going on, I'm fine. They can do whatever they want during the replays.

Surprisingly, the commentator during a Vick game didn't fawn all over the place... and John Dinosaur Madden of all guys... noticed that Roddy White... TOTALLY had to come back for that catch. However, there wasn't any comment on how poor of decision that was by Vick, and an incidental bump by White, and such a fluffy lob by Vick resulted in luck (and White having to come 10 yards off the route to get the ball) kept that from being an INT, not the catch, much less TD it became.

However, Vick myopians will just see th 50+ yd passing TD and chalk it up to his stats... awful pass, period.
Not an awful pass, it's having trust in your guy to go get it. And at worst you get an INT 50 - 60 yards downfield.
Yeah.... an unproven rookie... so all the other INTs were either the WRs fault, or piss-poor judgement by #7.
Roddy White made a similar play earlier in the season, so not unproven. What was the result? A TD, so not poor judgement. The end justifies the means.

We will be soon, plus pylon cams.
If they can show me the "Goal Line Goes Around the World" shot, I'll be impressed.
Today, it crosses through Vaduz, Liechtenstein. As we all know, Vaduz is the capital and economic center of the principality, which lies between Austria and Switzerland.

The Goal Line Channel? Maybe not - but I could see "where in the world is the goal line today show" on the NFL network in May....

Actually I was thinking that it should view the upward area to see if a body part broke another plane.

that was not a fumble.
No, it wasn't, and the "it's a fumble until it's challenged otherwise" rule is starting to bug me a little.
esp., since it costs the HC one of his available challenges.refs are becoming very tentative with their calls since int replay has been used so much this year.

Does it bug you when you call down by contact on what should seem like an obvious fumble? Which way should they error in caution? The challengable way or non?

For my Brooks fantasy numbers, at least the Saints' D and Vick's inaccurate passing is giving Brooks a decent number of touches this quarter.

They should call it. Don't be influenced by "well, if they challenge it they will get it on the overturn". Timeouts and challenges do matter.

That's true - but the other HC can challenge the completed pass if it is actually a fumble.I just want them to make the right call.

Marc said it very simply, meaning better than I could.

It cost the Saints a chance against the Rams because they had no timeouts. Now they are out of challenges because the refs are scared and fall back on the challenge to bail them out of making the "right" call. The NFL needs to copy the NCAA system. This is a terrible way to do things.

Falcs cheerleaders have great unis.
Yes, the unis.....How about a morning workout show with the cheerleaders? And no, I don't mean the 2 former Panthers' cheerleaders....

Who's with me?

I got the ad for it already..... Manning: "D-Cup! D-Cup! D-Cup!"..... :lmao:

Madden had a pretty good insight with the reverse call.Broken clock analogy, sure, but we crap on him all the time, might as well give him one.

Good heart to stay in by the Saints.

As last time I can't believe we get what must be the very last Ref squad available. Vick fumble, obvious offensive pass interference on Roddy's TD, and a putrid intentional grounding call (obviously being restrained - Vick never would have been called on that).

Saints are hanging in there.
And a questionable Roughing the passer call on Demorrio when Hall returned for a TD. Also that wasnt a fumble by Vick as the arm was going forward. Watch it in slow-mo.
Questionable Roughing call? Please....he left his feet to hit him in the head with his forearm - after passing a teamate that had pulled up...that was as easy a call as you'll ever see.

Sorry, tuned him out.... what did he say?
They ran the reverse to set up teams in the future. If you run that play, later on, in an important situation, you can run the same play, but fake the reverse so Vick has a good running lane.

I really need Brooks to throw for, or better yet run for, a TD in this fourth quarter.I'll be really bummed if they end up near the GL in this quarter and end up w/ a RB running it in.

By the way, that was an end-around, if you mean White's carry. A reverse involves 2 handoffs.

 Ball has to change directions for it to be a reverse.

oh the horror, michaels and theisman, how can it get worse than this, it can, with Joe "I give #######s to star players" Theisman
