***OFFICIAL 2009 NFL DRAFT*** (1 Viewer)

Diidn't see English going here. not a huge need. Good on the Chargers though, I think the kid is a baller. Thought maybe Ayers here.

How many other Lions fans are hoping Oher drops to #20?
 with that silly larry english pick, it looks like they'll have their choice of Oher or Malauga....i would be ecstatic with either. AND it would shut up the Curry lovers to address LB in the 1st after all...

DEN has to be looking at DE at 18 - Ayers or Brown. I think the best value is on O. Maclin or Oher.

Can't see the Donkeys going offense TWICE in the first with that abomination of a defense.

I'll bet Tampa's phone is ringing off the hook right about now from teams wanting to get in front of Detroit to try and land Oher.

Or not. Friggin' lag.

I'm surprised at all the hate for the Moreno pick. The Broncos took by far the best player available at that spot. The fact that they have 47 scrub RBs on their roster doesn't make it a bad pick.
Didn't think he's the best player available there. That defense was the worst in the league last year. GL to having Kyle Orton as a gun slinger. The beginning of the McDaniels era to present may be the worst X month span in NFL history by a new coach.
The fact that Denver's defense was bad doesn't mean that Moreno wasn't the best player on the board. You can argue they need defensive players to improve the team's performance on that side of the ball but it doesn't make Moreno less of a player.

English is a bad pick because they could have traded down and he'd still be there.
The Pats at #23 were rumored to be looking at him.I like this pick for the Chargers...you can never go wrong with a pass-rusher who won't have a big contract. That's usually a big asset. If this kid is legit and Merriman returns to form than San Diego's D will go back to being a big play D (as well as having solid fantasy value).

That was my thought too, but you don't know if anyone was willing to trade picks. (*edit- and then TB trades up immediately after) SD doesn't have another pick until the 3rd, and you're not going to find a top tier OLB/DE that late. English is really a boom or bust type, he was dominant against lower-tier competition so this is definitely a gamble.

A 6th rounder? Only two spots, but really...what have they gained with these trade downs? A 2nd, a 6th, and 3 bench player. The #5 pick was worth more.

...and with the 18th pick of the 2009 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select Jay Cutler, QB, Denver Broncos...

I could see another trade coming up here. So much value on the board right now. Lions and Eagles are licking their chops.
