***OFFICIAL 2009 NFL DRAFT*** (1 Viewer)

What's with ESPN's Brian Hoyer lovefest? I'm shocked anyone would consider drafting him in any round. The only time he looked decent at the college level was when defenses were loading the box to stop Javon Ringer, who is also still on the board for some reason.
sounds like Jaws loves him.

McShay made a comment earlier about how he had him ranked just ahead of Stephen McGee, IIRC. Kiper had Hoyer as like the #15 overall QB.

Hmm, another safety by the Bills. Interesting. Not good news if you're Ko Simpson. I thought he showed a lot of promise his rookie season. I guess the Bills just don't like him at all.

Edit: Nevermind. Looks like he's a guy expected to move to LB. That makes more sense. Pretty slow timed speed though.

If Andre Brown lands in a good situation he could really make some FF noise this year...surprised he's still on the board...I like him a lot more than Goodson.
Goodson has much more upside in my opinion.
Yeah, I guess the comparison isn't fair, Goodson is a big question mark and a more versatile back...Andre Brown on the other hand you pretty much know what you're getting which is a tough runner whose game seems to suit the NFL.
I suspect he'll be moved to WR as he has no shot at the RB position and wouldn't last two years on the bench. Likely will be cut by the end of camp next year.

Big footed and he also kicks lefty as well.Had a big feeling he was going here  -QG
Tough to defend that pick in terms of value, though. Hard to think they wouldn't have gotten him in the 6th or 7th.
He was gonna be gone I think, I really do. They know a lot about the kid as they'd see him workout all the time. I think we've got a 10-year punter here and while people may scoff field position is a big deal. Don't forget that Marvin was around for the Ravens championship where the punter was a big factor.Still a lot of RBs and a good one will fall to round 6.A bit bummed to see the LSU fullback drafted, but there should be a good one of those available with our supp in round 6 as well.Marvin about to talk on NFLN.-QG

He would be a solid third down back early and potential number 2 down the road.

not singling you out Grovelot of this today, no talk of depth, bit odd that so many think all these picks spell the end of some good players careers

In the prior 10 drafts, 7 punters were taken 142 or earlier.

Huber woulda been gone, I think.

Incidentally Lechler was picked in the exact same spot (142).

Hmmm Nic Harris....at least it's someone I've heard of, I guess. :lmao:
I assume they'll move him to LB
ESPNHarris is a former safety who may be more suited for the OLB position at the NFL level. If he lines up at LB, Harris will need to get stronger at the point of attack. On the flip side, he?ll provide excellent range and his experience in coverage at the college level will help with his transition to understanding drop zones.

DraftGuys video on Johnny Knox(Chicago-5th Round Selection-6'1" WR from Abeliene Christian):

4.3, excellent hands, why/how did he slip to the Bears in the 5th? I'm looking at a first day talent in these scouting videos. I'm guessing smarts may be an issue considering the route he took to the NFL, JC to Abeliene, but he appeared well-spoken in the draftguys video.

Y'all wanna check in with your thoughts? Any Texas FBG's have a take on Knox? I'm usually far from optimistic on second day selections at skill positions, but this kid looks special.

earlier theme was big east is underrated as several players went early.

How come big east defensive player of the year lasted so long then?

Maybe a solid 3rd down back for the scout team. DWill had an ungodly ypc and didn't fumble all year as I recall. Stew wasn't too shabby either.

Right on.Kid is definitely good at what he does. Just my typical Bengal pessimism. Today is a good day:thumbup:

Didn't see Casey going to the Texans. Drafting two TEs, are they planning for Daniels to leave?
I think they are gonna use Casey all over the field. H-Back type. He'll play FB, TE, WR, WILDCAT QB, special teams, and you might even see him Rushing the passer. Great player and VERY versitile. Maybe a Jack of all trades but master of none but I love him.

I thought they would have gone Murtha there but I like the Casey pick.

Dear Philly,

Please draft me the following in the 5th:

Liberty's Rashad Jennings
A big TE - I'll take Ingram, or a 2010 pick to DEN for Scheffler
Another safetyThanks!
I actually think Cornelius Ingram will be taken by the Eagles. A lot of teams are supposedly scared because he may require more surgery. The eagles took a player in a similar situation in Ikegwuonu last year. I think its gonna happen, fingers crossed :excited:
