Plus the the difference in time between light/speed is impossible to discern by humans at that short of distance.

I guess you have to be nowhere near 1st base to record a put out. Is it just overreaction or is umpiring as bad as it ever has been so far this year? In watching mainly the Cubs, there are blown calls hurting both sides nearly every game and the strike zone is a complete mystery far too often.
I've seen some exceptionally bad strike zones this season. And many seem to change from half inning to half inning. I feel like umps are trying to call more high strike, which I'm fine with. But I think it could be throwing their whole zone out of whack.
OK, it's not just my imagination.
#Pirates are in process of filing a formal complaint with MLB about ump Campos inconsistent strike zone in last night's game

I remember watching Rick Monday play. Now he looks like AJ Ellis' mitt. I'm like Eephus old.

At the moment, the Yankees and Red Sox occupy 4th and 5th place in the AL East.
What kind of prizes are awarded for being in 1st place with 85% of the season remaining?
Just an observation, choad.
Oh, well thanks. I don't think anyone had noticed.
Yea, because everybody knows to look to your posts for cutting edge insight.
No, seriously. Where else could we find out what the standings are without your help?

You seem really bitter. Calm down. Your Lakers, Rangers and Crimson Tide all look great this year.

I'd better call a truce here before you call me a penis again.

Fair enough. These little pissing matches aren't that interesting anymore.

They were more fun when I actually used to hate you.

Nobody drags a frontrunner into a pointless pissing match quite like Capella. Still brings a tear to my eye.

Lol I get into pointless pissing matches at work too. Guess it's just in my blood.
These hours aren't billable
Got away from that soul sucking world, thank god. Nothing says scumbag like having your boss tell you a 13-minute phone call was billable for an hour. :loco:

Orsillo and Gammons were in the Red Sox booth, discussing if Aaron Cook should get a second start "if things keep going well."

Up to that point, he had thrown ONE whole scoreless inning.

Cue Baltimore getting about 16 straight hits, including a shot by Adam Jones which landed in Maine. :lmao:

Reynolds just hit one to Newfoundland.

I'd love to make a list of "All or Nothing" hitters. Reynolds would certainly be near the head of the class.Who trumps him?Dave Kingman? Rob Deer? Adam Dunn?

Micky Tettleton, yeah all guys of that ilk. I like Reynolds when he gets hot, homers, singles, walks, pop ups and K's. But you hit him 6th and hope you have guys on base in front of him when he makes contact.

Brewers will put both OF Carlos Gomez and SS Alex Gonzalez on DL tomorrow
Gomez with a hamstring injury. Sounds like Gonzalez may be done for the year with an ACL tear (MRI on Monday). Brewers have now lost Narveson, Gamel and very possibly Gonzalez for the year. Ouch.

Wow, if you are a Matt Cain owner like I am you are pretty pissed right now. Worst run support of any starter since 2006 and he gets screwed again on a 9th inning error. Guy can't buy a win. :hot:
