This winter ####### sucks.

First time I can ever remember having 4 straight months of no golf. Years past you could sneak a round in December or March. There is hope for next weekend, but this weather is killing the industry.

Picked up the new Cleveland 52 degree 588 wedge and some Ecco shoes today....I'm jonesing to ####### play!

yep... we open the 6th... can't wait

Heading to Scottsdale on Thursday. We-ko-pah, Boulders, and Quintero. I'm psyched because I've never played real desert golf.

Coming off an even par 72 round today

Played 76 holes in two days over the weekend. Had a buddy out from Minnesota for the weekend who wanted to golf it up as much as possible. Played four rounds in western AZ…. and all my scores were within four strokes of each other and recorded my lowest tourney score to date (didn't place because it was a half and half and Chesson Hadley's +7 ####ed me). Torn between two putters and putting stats were identical.

So much fun. And I have zero desire to pick up a club today.

picked up a new Vokey SM5 56 SW (10 degree bounce) on Sunday and played 27 today. hit the new club a dozen times. wow.

phenomenal feel from both fairway and rough. very versatile. i don't play a high-spin ball (Bridgestone e6) and had no problem stopping this club on the green. amazing what happens when you hit a new wedge vs one that's 8 years old. no offense to the Cleveland 588 GW in my bag, but my next investment will likely be the 52 degree version of the Vokey SM5. very happy with this purchase.

If you think the new ones are something, you should try a vokey from a couple of years ago before the new groove rules came out. you can stop one of those things from anywhere.

Where can I get a used Nike Covert driver for the best price?

What would that price be?

They're on eBay for about $80-$100.

If you go the Ebay route make sure you buy from someone who has lots of positive feedback - to insure you're not getting a fake club. In the past 3 months I've been buying a set of clubs for my 12 year old. I've purchased from sellers: Callawaypreowned, Dallas Golf, 3Ballsgolf and Globalgolf. Everyone of the clubs I've received have come in better condition than described. I have re-gripped every club just to keep consistency for my kid...but the grips were in fine shape too. The woods typically don't come with the original head cover...sometimes no head cover at all.

I'm going to buy a used set of titleist AP2's this afternoon. $350 on Craigslist. Seller is local so I can go inspect the clubs before I purchase.

Dilettante.

I've been playing golf for 35 years and have never made a hole in one. It happens in 2014 :football:
Dreams do come true! PGA West Stadium hole 13 213 yards over water back left pin 2 hops and a short roll for an ace. No sooner did it leave my club and my buddy says, "we're drinking." I couldn't quite see if it went in as I thought it may have gone behind the stick like so many times before but a big group of people that were behind the green saw it go in and erupted with cheers and hollers. Best $500 I've ever spent buying drinks in the clubhouse afterwards!

LOOK AT ME!!

Yea. Me too.

Bought that used set if AP2s. Big fan. Man the forged feel is tremendous. Hitting the ball higher and they are lighter than my previous irons so I feel like I am in more control. Gained about 5-10 yds on each club too. It'll be nice to hit a 5 iron from 215 high in the air. That's gonna make a few shots considerably easier on my normal course.

How good is the new SLDR? anyone have? Hank Haney raves about it on Twitter but to the point where it seems like he's on the take. Commercial says only perfect score by Golf Digest. Is the hype true?

i've seen reviews across the board, from #1 Rated to "junk." the consistent theme seems to be that this club provides a low(er), boring ball flight than the R11 and R1, so players are advised to purchase a higher loft than normal (e.g. 10.5 instead of 9.5) to gain more distance. the SLDR move-able wight does in fact work, as far as moving the ball on a draw/fade line goes. also, it's geared for mid-low handicappers vs. high handicapper.

The Versa #9 is now in the bag and I got fitted for the first time in 20 years. Currently searching for the best place to order my mizuno mp64s. :excited:

thanks, I'll have to try it out at a demo day. I prefer a higher lofted driver anyway, so would be great to get back distance. Don't really like spending money on clubs, I usually scavenge other peoples old clubs but I have 300 dollars credit at a pro shop thanks to a casino.

Been playing for 1.5 years and it happened 11/30/13 :coffee:

*I'm well aware I got absurdly lucky.

Playing in a big scramble today. I know some if the purists don't like them (I prefer a Texas scramble for the added strategy and limitations on going too low) but I think they're fun as hell. Anybody got any strategy recommendations? Right now thinking of just having our most accurate hitter play first and then our best go last.

Let the big hitter hit last, get a ball in play off the tee early then everyone else can go for distance.
