Anyway...not to spoil the party on such a great day, but is there any concern that we now have Gregory, Collins, Hardy and Randle on the same roster? Garrett has preached so much about "the right kind of guy", it seems we're getting away from that a bit??
Even so...it's totally worth it to hear Giants and Eagles fans crying about losing out on the Collins Lottery.

Did Collins have any other off field issues other than the horrible crime committed to his ex girlfriend? I really wasn't following him much before the deaths were announced. I just saw a post signing interview with him and it sounds like he is going to play his ### off for Jerry and the boys. Talk about playing with a chip on your shoulder.

Everyone keeps saying we need a RB. If Randle and D-Mac get most of the carries and don't fumble or sustain major injury, I think we're good at RB. Also, if we had problems I think we would make a move to grab a veteran RB as there will always be someone available. Am I being arrogant?

I think the coaches and management have been saying the same thing all along. In addition to Collins they drafted a couple tackles. Backs they coveted got drafted before they fell to Dallas. It just means they had other priorities when those backs were available. Priorities that hopefully improve the team more than a back they would have settled for.
I can't help but wonder if Minnesota likes La'el Collins.

The Giants fan had one angry faced emoticon about the signing and all three Eagle fans complimented the Cowboys on a good/great signing. I hardly call that crying.

Sucks that dem Boys got him but one guard lineman won't win a Super Bowl. The division goes through Dallas this year but I think the Eagles and maybe even the Giants are up to the challenge...hell maybe even the Redskins...but probably not. Should be a lot of fun to watch.dhockster said:

We've been rallying about upgrading our lines for a few years now, glad to see it finally come to fruition. Funny how it all started with a very underwhelming and criticized Frederick pick a couple years ago. Truth be told, we got incredibly lucky with that Martin pick last year, pretty sure Shazier was our target. Those two picks set the wheels in motion for sure.
This Collins thing is absolutely absurd though. Throw in our 3rd round pick and the current guys on our roster, wow....I've never been so excited to see a goal line package in my life.

I can't wait to go against all the 3-4 defenses that are so populate now.
For as excited as I am for this year, just think of the following 3-4 years as all these guys mature.
I'm trying to temper my enthusiasm but it's becoming difficult.

Jerry said on radio today he could see trading their 2016 first round pick for a RB. I think this was Jerry sending the Vikings a message.

Stephen came on a few mins later saying he highly doubted anything would happen.
I after going back and forth am not cool with giving a 1rst. I would do a 2nd and maybe a first if the Cowboys won the SB.

At the very end he says he's going to keep it clean by showing he has no tattoos. Not that tattoos are bad but getting tattoos, imo, are often a result of seeking social acceptance, blinging oneself and/or succumbing to peer pressure. This, to me is the biggest indicator we have a good one. The kid is grounded.

I'd be shocked if he ended up serving all 4 games. I would think it'd be reduced after the appeal hearing by at least one game but if it is upheld then it most definitely helps out Dallas without having to face Tom Brady while the rest of the division will.

So I've been listening to a lot of podcasts and Bryan Broaddus has hinted that's there's going to be a trade but wouldn't say who the boys were looking at. It was insinuated that these guys are in the mix:

Ingrams the better runner, that broken hand slowed down his massive momentum last year, not to mention the Saints incompetent RB rotation. Don't recall Davis's usage in the passing game but he can't be worse than Ingram. I'll pass on Miller.

IMO, Davis is ridiculously over-rated. He finished 2014 with 3.5yds per carry. He had a few big games in Charles' absence last year but he received an obnoxious amount of carries in those games to get there. 22 in the first game and 32 in the 2nd. He had his best ypc game against NE with 107yds on 16 carries but that appears to be an anomaly.
Igram has averaged over 4ypc the last two seasons (4.9 in 2013). That NO offensive line was banged up last season but the offense was still better than avg with a pro bowl QB.
Miller ran for 5.1ypc behind an atrocious line last year with a QB that can't stretch the field.
I'll take Miller, then Ingram, and I'll pass on Davis.

Ray Rice just completed his intervention program and the domestic abuse charges have been dismissed. Wouldn't be surprised if Jerry took a chance on him as he clearly has with other talented but troubled players. This assuming Goodell reinstates him. He'd help with RB depth at least.
Which teams have the depth to trade a RB at this stage (now that the draft is complete)? If KC, Miami or New Orleans traded one of those guys, they'd be left with a hole on their rosters. If a trade would be made it seems to me that it would have to come from a team that could absorb the hit. And even if a team has depth to trade, they have to have quality depth that Dallas would want or that they'd be willing to promote. For example, I think Buffalo has depth, but I can't see Dallas being interested in any of those guys as it won't dramatically improve the team. If Miami traded Miller, then you assume they're ok with promoting Ajayi, but their backup is Damian Williams again. You have to assume they were not ok with that because they drafted Ajayi.

Tampa seems like the obvious choice to me, if anyone. They've soured on Martin and are ready to give Sims a shot at the feature role. Rainey has been the backup for two seasons and they seem OK with him in that role.
Martin isn't the stud we all hoped for after his rookie year but he has shown that he can be reliable when the holes are there, and in Dallas they will be.

Seattle has both Michael and Turbin backing up Lynch. Dallas could also send a back like Dunbar to Seattle in return simply to upgrade the position along with a pick.C & C said:
As far as sheer number of backs, Cleveland or Denver make sense but if Dallas is still looking for a back, they aren't looking for a 3rd down back. They're most likely looking for a player they feel could carry the load.
That kind of rules out Denver as Hillman is more of a 3rd down back, they just drafted Ball, and Anderson was their workhorse down the stretch last season.
I don't like any of the Cleveland backs outside of the one they just drafted.
NO is intriguing as I still think Khiry Robinson could be a nice back for a good team. I was surprised to see them go after spiller with him on the roster.
Bernard Pierce did nothing with all the opportunity in the world so you can scratch Baltimore unless they decide they want to move Forsett but that wouldn't make much sense for them at this point.
I'm not sure the muscle hamster is what we thought he was. I guess he'd be worth a try if we got him cheap enough.

I don't see any of these RBs from other teams as can't miss options for Dallas. Bottom line, if the OL stays healthy and does what it did last year we should be fine at RB. If anything I would want an RB that can go the distance when untouched through the first level of the D. Murray was not that guy and neither are most of the other RBs available. I certainly would not trade picks for any of them unless we experienced injuries that forced our hands.

I think they kind of missed their opportunity to trade (the draft) unless they massively over pay. I cant see them giving a first rounder for anyone outside of ADP.C & C said:

a signing of a bum like Ben Tate or Steve Jackson for depth wouldn't surprise me, maybe they kick the tires on Chris Johnson?
I agree with all this. That's why I thought it was strange trade talk was coming up now. I can see Dallas making a trade, but not until deep into camp. Most teams are going to want to get into camp, see what they have, see who gets injured, etc... I don't see any incentive for teams to trade until the middle of August.
