Lawrence O'Donnell just played the Arnie Vinick ethanol scene from the
The West Wing and praised Ted Cruz for coming out against ethanol. And I agree with him. Despite my distaste for nearly everything about Cruz, he showed great courage for defying the conventional wisdom from both sides of the aisle- he was against more ethanol spending and he won. As O'Donnell suggests, perhaps this will allow future Presidential candidates to buck the powers that be. Ethanol is wasteful, should no longer be funded, and politicians have known this for years.
So thank you Ted Cruz, and you deserve credit for this.
