Official 2016 GOP thread: Is it really going to be Donald Trump?? (3 Viewers)

Trump's back in the game, it seems he did not lose Iowa

I'll let his twitter explain (i put the oldest tweets first to make it easier to read):

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump 2h2 hours ago

Ted Cruz didn't win Iowa, he stole it. That is why all of the polls were so wrong and why he got far more votes than anticipated. Bad!

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump 2h2 hours ago

During primetime of the Iowa Caucus, Cruz put out a release that @RealBenCarson was quitting the race, and to caucus (or vote) for Cruz.

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump 2h2 hours ago

Many people voted for Cruz over Carson because of this Cruz fraud. Also, Cruz sent out a VOTER VIOLATION certificate to thousands of voters.

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump 2h2 hours ago

The Voter Violation certificate gave poor marks to the unsuspecting voter(grade of F) and told them to clear it up by voting for Cruz. Fraud

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump 1h1 hour ago

And finally, Cruz strongly told thousands of caucusgoers (voters) that Trump was strongly in favor of ObamaCare and "choice" - a total lie!

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump 1h1 hour ago

Based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified.
Settling up his rationale for leaving the GOP and running third party.

It's funny, I have zero idea what platforms Rubio has other than he's not Trump or Cruz.
Bomb everyone/everything
Link? Or nah?
Yeah sure

Not as bomb happy as Cruz, but he wants stuff blown up for sure. Is this your date to the dance?

I'm trying to clarify here, because I think most people are in favor of tactical air strikes against ISIS in Syria. Are you trying to define that as something that makes Rubio "bomb happy"?

And as for the second link, there's nothing there that indicates he's advocated anything other than taking a tougher stance. You can insinuate that involves "bombing anyone and everyone" if you'd like, but I think that's probably more your opinion than fact.

Every single Republican in the race other than Rand Paul is bomb happy.

Have you watched any of the debates?

Iran, Russa, China, these guys will bomb whoever whenever. If only we'll give them the chance!!

Sickening to say the least, but I guess it works on their voters.

Ridiculous statement. Holy cow man.

How's that?

It's not like these guys are shy about it. They all wanna seem like the toughest MoFo there is, so they constantly talk about bombing the crap out of anyone that looks at them funny.

The funniest part is when they go on and on about how our Armed Forces have been DECIMATED.

Yeah, ok.

As if there's EVER been a decrease in defense spending. We spend more than the next like 15 countries combined on defense.

Not sure why I bother, but...

Outside of taking out ISIS and leaving the door open to a military solution if Iran gets nukes, who else do they constantly talk about bombing the crap out of?

If Jeb gets his "No Fly Zone" in Syria, we may need them against Russia.

Come on guys Skoo is totally right. Everyone knows that boorish right wingers prefer "dumb" bombs and lefties prefer sophisticated high brow drone assassination strikes that result in a 90% civilian casualty rate.

Democrats love drone kills!

Hey, don't get me wrong, the Democrats are war mongers too in my book (especially Hillary), but not nearly as bad as the GOP.

Those guys never met a war they didn't like.

I just don't understand the denial. It's not like it's a secret that to Republicans, appearing strong on defense is one of if not the most important aspect of their campaigns.

Both want to destroy ISIS. But Rubio is much more hawkish than Cruz. For example, Rubio is an interventionist (establishing safe zones in Syria, regime change/ ousting Assad, etc.), whereas Cruz is not.
Rubio and Jeb(!) have the most neo-con foreign policy. I think the lessons of the past 15 years will hopefully moderate their actions but they haven't really changed their rhetoric.

Rubio does say "when I'm President" more than any other human. There was one instance in the last debate where he started to answer, hit reset, inserted "when I'm President" and resumed. I guess it makes him look confident which presumably tests well. If elected, he'll need a new schtick.

The problem is confusing being strong on defense with being bomb happy and wanting war. I don't think any of the candidates from either side hope there is a war if they become President.

Santorum endorses Rubio.
when he called the Rubio headquarters, he was told by aides that instead of endorsing, maybe he would be interested in making a donation instead.

Rick Santorum basically moved into Iowa over the last year and bragged about spending more time there than any other candidate and spoke often about visiting every one of the 99 counties..

the sad thing is that after all that time he spent, all those miles he drove (probably only using ethanol based gasoline) and all those main debates not invited to, he dropped out after getting only 1738 votes. there were a record 180,000 people who came out to caucus and Santorum got 0.01% of those votes. On an average ballot, Donald Duck gets more votes.. Guys like Kasich and Christie who spent about 10 minutes in Iowa got twice the votes he got..

anyway, he has dropped out.. so those 1738 people must be pissed because they gave it their all

Wasn't Santorum being friendly with Trump? Somewhat surprised, but endorsements are highly overrated in general, much less from somebody who is getting less than 2% of the vote in state that is supposedly his people.

1738/180000 is just under 1.00% not 0.01%

Please clap.

:lmao:

You're done, Jeb...no one comes back from a 'please clap' moment.
Mr. Bush finished a fiery riff about protecting the country as commander in chief — “I won’t be out here blowharding, talking a big game without backing it up,” he said — and was met with total silence.

“Please clap,” he said, sounding defeated.

The crowd laughed — and then, finally, clapped.
 I almost feel bad for Jeb.
