Official 2016 GOP thread: Is it really going to be Donald Trump?? (17 Viewers)

Cruz really shoveling some #### right now. Did you know that if he is president, and you are coming out of college, you will have 3-4-5 high paying job offers? :lmao:

Trouble for Trump if Cruz wins big today, Rubio wins Florida, and Kasich takes Ohio and Michigan. It will be interesting to see how Trump might act if he starts losing.

From Nate Silver's 538 staff blogging of today's election results:

We obviously still have some time to go, but with 73 percent of precincts reporting in Kansas, turnout is about 46,000. In 2012, it was just under 30,000. In other words, turnout is way up, and yet Trump is going down to a big defeat. That’s why I don’t much buy into these arguments that Trump is driving big turnout. Many people in Kansas, it seems, came out to vote against him.

No one is against it.  But it's an empty promise.
Exactly. Whoever dishes out the most empty promises falls to the bottom of my big board. This guy is leading the pack. He will not abolish the IRS either. If it was possible, it would have already been done.

Rubio isn't anywhere close to winning Florida.
Not refuting your point, but as a Florida resident, I can attest that the barrage of attack ads against Trump have been unbelievable.  You wouldn't have any idea of who else in running, but the establishment Super PACs are launching everything they can right now.  I can't imagine it doesn't have an effect.

Like the fence Mexico is gonna pay for.  Or all the manufacturing  jobs that are gonna racing back to the US.
Don't think I need to explain my position again on Trump. Ok I will. It's not that I think he will do any of his BS. It's that these lying ####ers need taught a lesson. I'm using Trump like a cheap whore to get my point across. I hate all of them and they deserve Trump. If this nation had any brains or balls, Perot would have won, NAder would have won. This is the third shot to #### these losers over.

While I'm sickened by the notion that Trump wins the nomination, I must say he has made these primaries pure entertainment.  It's as exciting as fantasy football, but without the stress.

Unless you are Tim.  He's aged 20 years during the primaries.  He's gone through all the stages of denial.  Twice.

Not necessarily. American born S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) are being produced at level similar to demand.  Half of these American grads are working in other areas for various reasons.  A lot of those jobs are going to foreigners.  Get rid of many or most of these visas and bam American  jobs.

You walking back on your idiotic Trumpf support is hardly setting anyone straight.
I'm now walking back on anything. You can go back well before this election and the posts will show that I have said what I posted above. I have every single one of them.

I wouldn't say Obama per se but make no mistake- Trump is the direct result of years of social justice/PC police. There are a number of people that are sick and tired of it. They are sick of how police have been made out to be criminals and criminals victims. They are sick of being corrected when they something about "illegal immigrants" to "undocumented migrants". They are just sick and tired of it and they are very angry. Anger makes people do dumb things. Dumb things like supporting someone who doesn't give a crap about the social justice/PC police and will say whatever he wants for President even though he is woefully unprepared and unfit for the Presidency. You can debate whether that it is right or wrong but it really is silly to try to deny that this is a direct result of the anger people on the right feel after years of the constant social justice/PC onslaught they feel they are under. I do not agree with their response but I can understand how they have been lead there.
"Political Correctness" doesn't make the top 100 of the nation's problems.

Been nice if Perot didn't go looney and drop out for a few months.

It's incredibly hard to find enough skilled workers.  My company has tech positions open for months without getting qualified applicants.  You need foreigners (skilled).  It's not like you can just eliminate those, that's a long process.

Not at all. I'm having the time of my life!

Of course I'm concerned for my country. But it's been fascinating.

I'm going to have to change the titles of my threads pretty soon. This thing is not over...

Then we keep the amount of visas we need no more.

No you aren't. You actually care too much. You have #### your pants numerous times. My favorite was when you said Trump was going to become a dictator if elected POTUS.

On the other hand I am. I could care less because I know it doesn't matter who is elected. If your pear shaped loser wins, I'm good with it because I now with an R congress, nothing will get done and the stock market will love that. The same do nothing #### in Washington will continue. However, I'm a big fan of sticking it to these losers and this is our best chance ever.

The 2 women on the right side of the CNN panel are really stupid. Far right one is totally right wing whacko. The other one is just a moron.

LOL  Someone has done an about face after today's poor Trump showing. You were the most arrogant, obnoxious Trumptard of them all. Now you could care less. It's funny seeing all the backpedaling.

Each year, universities graduate twice as many students with STEM degrees as find STEM jobs. According to the Census Bureau, more than 11 million Americans with STEM degrees are not employed in STEM jobs—or 3 in 4 STEM degree holders. Among recent graduates, about 35 percent of science students, 55 percent of technology students, 20 percent of engineering students, and 30 percent of math students are now working in jobs that don’t require any four-year college degree—let alone their area of specialty.

I think this can be attributed to them not being qualified.   I can tell you from first hand experience, doing many many interviews that the foreign workers demonstrate a far greater grasp of the necessary skills than the younger generation of grads.

It is almost like they are slow rolling the results of the Maine contest.  I still think Trump finds a way to win it but it just seems like it's been stuck at the same number forever

Yes I would be extremely concerned about a Trump presidency. I would be nearly as concerned about a Cruz presidency (though I'll take that gladly over Trump if I were forced to make a choice.) But even so I am, and have been enjoying myself.

As for you, the backpedaling, as Junior put it, has already started. I find it sad and pathetic that you admit that you care more about "sticking it" to people you don't like than about who should govern the country. IMO, people who think the way you do probably shouldn't vote.

Finally, you've now repeated "pear-shaped loser" numerous times. It wasn't even amusing the first time. Don't you have any other lines in your limited repertoire?

If the choice for the GOP nomination comes down to Trump and Cruz and California has yet to vote, I will be throwing some money in Cruz's direction. I might even put a Ted Cruz sign on my yard. (I live in Orange County so it could make a small difference, who knows?)

I pretty much disagree with Ted Cruz 80-90% of the time. I find him sleazy and rather repulsive. But at least the guy knows something about foreign affairs, and the Constitution. At least he is aware of the political process, and doesn't have contempt for our system of government. If he is the man that we need to defeat the ignoramus Trump, then so be it. I will cast my vote for him and support him as well.

Rubio is having a terrible night.  He will probably hold on until the Florida primary, but he looks to be the next one voted off the island.

I could get behind Ted just to hear other Senators being forced to say something positive about someone they so clearly hate. They've got cover against Drumpf, but they've got to support Ted if it comes down to it.

Is there any way Cruz could win in a place like CA?  My initial thought is only way that happens is if crossover voting occurs.

Don't really care if you don't find it funny. She's a pear shaped loser. I got plenty more but most of them would get me a time-out so I'll stick with that one. There is no back pedaling by me. Why don't you show some of it big man? You can't figure out that those governing the country are total garbage and need removed. You would rather stick some clown in there that is the status quo. You are far worse for the country. If anyone should stay away from the voting booth, it is you.

Cruz winning Maine would be a surprise. If Rubio collapses does the Establishment rally behind Cruz or switch to Kasich?
The "establishment" really screwed up on the Rubio ing, and it's just too late to go Kasich now.  Awful, because he's the only good candidate on that side.  They'll probably go with Cruz just because he has a foundation of delegates to work with, whereas Kasich would basically be starting from square one.  Had the establishment gone Kasich sooner, this might be a totally different ballgame.

No chance...the evangelical thing doesn't play out here.  We actually believe in the separation of church and state...almost fiercely.

Trump will dominate out West the way he did in Nevada...take that to the bank brohan.

Possible. It's the Ds best chance to win the general election if Cruz in in there. Hillary will win CA so they can just switch over and vote for Cruz, which is actually a vote for the D's in the general.

i don't  understand these threads for the most parts because i'm not really a shill for either party. But i am not sure if people want Republicans to gain more political power why they would be happy about Cruz or Rubio doing well. I think i do well hanging in the middle of both parties, and for me i see pretty much 0 chance Cruz or Rubio could win a general election. In all honesty, Trump seems to be the one to be able to get people out to vote for him. Cruz is scary for 60% of the country, and Rubio has been depicted as a lame duck ever since Christie eviscerated him.

I just think if i was a dedicated Republican, the only guy i would hope for is Trump. Really no chance for anybody else to win a general election at this point no matter who  is on the D side
