From what i know so far and it's probably all useless info. Deuce Staley is an awesome guy. Deuce last summer hardly there gave him Suit tickets to one of the big Hotels in AC for his Birthday. He was only there since Jan/Feb and handed him these tickets. He recently told me from the Combine talking to other team scouts Colin Kaepernick came up. This was actually reported somewhere I can't remember where now but teams are afraid to sign CK. Don't think his protest was ever about what he said it was and all for attention and to start again and teams are scared sh**less to sign him do to public backlash and possible Trump tweeting attacks to the team. Dead serious on that last one. I called this after this started though when CK becomes an FA this season people will stay away do to PR reasons. I won't get into more details on a guy who honestly doesn't deserve the press anyway. I did find out a lot of the players respect her son like in a huge way. Because he's from the area a lot of the newer guys ask him where the best spots in town to eat and all are. Training Camp everyone stayed in Philly at a hotel near NovaCare. They had FIVE CATERED MEALS A DAY. Yes FIVE. I believe Udlin just got married this past summer and all the coaches went. The Group from Pederson down to the lowest guy on the staff everyone is treated equal like Family. Lurie tries to eat lunch at Novacare in Cafeteria with everyone as much as possible tries to sit with different group of players/coaches each day to see how guys are answer any questions etc. Also the whole walking on egg shells Chip had is completely gone. Everyone feels they can have an opinion. There was also a lot of resentment in the Locker room over the stunt Sam Bradford pulled last season. Howie literally had no choice almost but to get rid of him from what I was told but I've also heard the opposite of some players resented him especially Veterans but not as bad so take that as you will. Sam seemed more of you either loved the guy or hated his guts.
I was really interested in learning some stuff on the last regime and I have very little but can confirm reports from the other thread reading that everyone resented Chip from parking lot security to the lunch lady. He was also a hypocrite telling players how to eat meanwhile he'd stuff his face with two cheesesteaks a day. He really hated Howie too and tried to do whatever he could and get whoever he could on his side to get the guy out there. Some of the stuff I heard I'm actually really sad for Roseman. Chip basically sounded like your typical school yard bully punk who'd pick on the youngest kids in the school yard and in the halls everyday. Also can confirm the his way or the high way reports. People were scared to even disagree with him. Also the reason Chip was fired the not accepting the Christmas invite to Lurie wasn't the final straw. Lurie was gonna fire him after the season no matter the record apparently because they had a lot of locker room resentment. The coaches kept from Chip's staff were coaches who all expressed to Lurie Privately their lack of confidence of Chip running the team. Lurie had Duce who he trusted and has been here for yrs as a player and coach as the Players voice to him as he didn't want any players singled out by Kelly. Duce would take concerns or expressed interest from players and report to Lurie directly no one else. The final straw was Peters quitting on Chip taking himself out of the blowout to Was. He's viewed as the main leader of the team similar to Dawkins when he was here. Very well respected and players feel they can go to him for anything. A lot of guys still here who were part of the game where Peters stood up for Foles really drew a lot more respect for him too because Foles was a likable guy and everyone was upset he left and Foles apparently was fuming he got traded but acted like a pro through the whole thing. Peters also stood up for teammate he felt Chip was disrespecting too. Peters had the "I don't give an F who you are, you aren't treating us with disrespect". The team quit though when Peters went. It's more like well our best player has 0 confidence in coach why should we plus our Leader is a future 1st ballot HoFer this coach is a nobody who hasn't proven anything yet.
Finally The Eagles had no shot keeping Jeremy Maclin. He had seen his two closes friends be booted out the door in DeSean and Shady. He didn't trust Chip at all and the Eagles didn't make much of an effort. Basically told the team you have two choice. Fire Chip and I'll stay or Chip stays and I go rather go to a team who I can trust coach and actually respects players. Again a lot of this is old news but everytime I here something more in depth it just tells you how much worse the whole situation was overall and why Chip was fired. Team keeping it as close to the vest as they have is remarkable at this point now. It was a complete sh**storm and from My co worker she basically said "Chip <####ed this team good if Howie ends up getting this team to a SB in the next 5 yrs and still loses they should hold a parade for him anyway.' I asked her if it was that bad and she said "Yep the media and fans only know the tip of the iceberg of all the issues Chip had with the org and they had with him. It's really sad how much he messed the team up." Everyone involved apparently felt used, disrespected and conned by the guy. His treatment of players was similar to what got Harbaugh fired in SF. Players just didn't care for them anymore. Both ran the clubs they had like they were still a college team which you can't do. Players felt like they couldn't trust Chip and felt really disrespected. Even felt the way he'd talk to the team Leaders/Vets was wrong and there was some resentment in the guys Chip brought in as the GM. Felt they were nothing more then hired guns cared more about a paycheck then winning. Also saw he treated his Oregon boys totally different.
Sorry for the long post there I mean it. Either way that's about as much as i know on everything right now. I wish I could be the DH here with possible how they are thinking with the draft and all but I don't think my Co Workers son is really privy to that sort of info and I'm honestly not as close to him enough where he might give me a drop of a hint or so on something he can't really say but also won't confirm or deny type thing. I've only met the guy about 3 times so far (Eagles Flight Night, 1 game and he came to our work) but have known his mom for yrs and she is absolutely awesome. She has a really good knowledge of the game and I've joked with her how she should be her son's agents.

I've learned the Bowling for Soup song (if you don't know them check it out on youtube) High School Never Ends is so true. Happens as an adult too of people acting like it's HS. Chip just seemed like he isn't a people person. Co worker said having met him at NH when her son Went he was very strange even then. Rumors have gone around apparently for yrs maybe he has some sort of disability with social skills never diagnosed.

He also apparently used a homophobic slang term against her friend from reports and Deadspin. Not only that but he was suspended this past season ONE GAME for threatening a parking lot cop with his car and ripping a ticket in her face trying to intimidate her. He used the typical do You know who I am rhetoric many of these entitled college athletes use to get away with stuff. I have no idea why the media is just defending this guy now. Shows really how hypocritical they are in these matters and to relate it to pot smoking is insane. I wonder how many of these idiots would feel if it was their daughter he nailed? I just think a lot of fans and media are hypocrites on a lot of these matters. The talented players slap on the wrist unless a video like Ray Rice's come out but if you are some 2nd or 3rd stringer youre scum of the earth and shouldn't play again.

Its bad no matter what. My other problem here isn't just the character red flags it's the conference he played for. It's all a bunch of backyard arena football with zero defense in that conference. You have to be so careful of what you are drafting offensive wise. AP was an exception to the rule back then but then again the conference wasn't that terrible Defensively yet. I'm always cautious drafting guys from that conference offensively. I also wish people would stop being such hypocrites on this subject. This is a serious matter and people have died because of DV. I don't care if you are Joe Schmo or Tom Brady no person is above the law or a given brand. There's companies who have fired employees (great ones) for less offensive maters. My Uncle/God Father was fired from Vanguard for opening an email from a co worker he thought was work related. It wasn't and he was the one who got canned yet the co worker who sent it to everyone didn't get punished. My Uncle was one of the top employees in that district too.
I don't know either one on a personal level but from reading everything it seems like Cook might have done even worse things then Mixon off the field but you don't see the outrage about him. I actually would pass on both of them and maybe get two rbs in the 4th or 5th rounds.

Yea I don't want Mixon or Cook. I'm all for taking guys with a bit of issues in college like frat boy stuff. Not the level these two are reportedly having.
There are plenty of RBs out there. I don't get Gargano and Baldinger advocating for Cook either even going as far as saying they'll deal with the protests of outraged people just to get the guy. He ain't that good.

The only question from a football standpoint was Cook's combine. Both of their game tape look very good and Mixon had a really good pro-day.

Cook was never fully charged with anything. I read a few reports and everyone of them seems all over the place. It's up to teams to do their HW. Big difference though we have tape on Mixon non of CookNagle2998 said:

I one who thinks the position is so devalued that it's not worth using a 1st rounder on ANY of them (Fournette/McCaffery/Cook/Mixon). That being said, I think the Eagles are a team that, if one of them slides to a favorable slot, has a past history in succesful social reclamation projects (Mike Vick) to take the initial heat......as long as said player is truthfully sorry and is willing to make amends/outreach at his now professional level.Nagle2998 said:

Comes down to whether or not you can trust either of these guys to suddenly turn into a decent human once they have a bunch of money and free time. I'm guessing not. Don't know if the size of the town really matters, if they #### up again, it won't be just the local media on them and the team, heat will come from all over for both these guys. There's ample warnings in their history.
Aside from the similar issue of punching women, Cook has been charged with robbery and possessing and firing a weapon on (high?) school property from several years before, though these were later dropped.
Cases like these two guys are different than guys who fail drug tests etc. Smoking weed doesn't make you a terrible person, committing violent crimes does.

I agree on taking a gamble on Cooks or Mixon if they fall far enough but I doubt either is getting out of the 2nd round and to me that's to big of a gamble on guys who keep making horrible off the field decisions. I think Reid and his locker room was strong enough to handle it I'm not sure Doug is just yet.
Vick also started the season as a back up who didn't play right away but the biggest difference is they talked about it but didn't have the film like they do with Mixon. I know film shouldn't matter and like I keep saying I think Cooks has had more off the field problems then Mixon the difference is film that's why we heard very little about Cooks off the field till Didinger talked about it and why his stock hasn't taken as big a hit

You can compare the two. Here's the biggest difference. One went to prison and one didn't. One had 100+ million dollars and couldn't get out of prison. Mixon wouldn't have to weather a storm even remotely close to what Vick had to do.

Also, yesterday the Eagles offered select Season Ticket Members access to a standing-room only section close to (but not inside) the theater. I already have theater tickets (redeemed Eagles credit card points) to the first round on Thursday night, so I took them up on tickets for Saturday (Rounds 4-7), when I can bring my sons.
Ya I think it will be about the same to be honest.
For non football fans who just read a headline, it won't be near as bad as Vick. He brought every animal loving non-sports fan's attention to him and was hated on by a LOT of people.
For football fans (especially those who dislike the Eagles), having Mixon would be a field day for them in arguments, signs at games, forums, etc.
There won't be as MANY people hating on Mixon as there was with Vick... not even close. But the shots fired will be much more intense with Mixon.

You have an 18 year old in a heated exchange punch a girl after being pushed/provoked.
You have a 27 year old dragging a dog into the yard, stringing him up and electrocuting him. Or dragging him over to the pond and drowning him.
I don't agree with either of these. But with Mixon (as Chris Rock once said) I understand.
I agree with your logic that the Vick situation is and should be treated worse. However, I'm talking about what the backlash likely WILL be. When are opposing team fans and media ever logical when using something in an argument or to grab headlines?
The Vick thing brought a lot of people out for it... but this Mixon thing I think would be bad. I don't think it SHOULD be as bad as it will be, but Cmon... with that video out there, you just know he's going to be labeled as a woman beater in every forum, and that every reporter looking for their minute in the spotlight is going to constantly ask him about it.

Depends how big of a story the media decide to make out of it. If that video gets played on national TV during a game broadcast, the backlash is going to be out of this world.

The problem with your line of thought is that this is very old news. Sure, the video will resurface once he is drafted by the local media of that team, and it'll point out that there is some controversy. But that's where it'll die.

Jacked up male athlete? Come on... his freshman year he was 6'2 195. He wasn't a linebacker. That girl looked like she had bigger arms than he did.
Not to mention in the video it shows her as the aggressor. Yes, he went above and beyond reasonable force given the circumstances, but a lot of discussion had on this, from women especially, has said what was she thinking.
I guess we can just disagree on this. The outrage has already come and gone. ESPN already discussed this back when the video was released. Why would they discuss it again? In fact, it will likely be just referenced, "he did have that video that emerged from years ago" instead of "breaking news." If Mixon did not have that video released when he did, then yes the backlash you are predicting would come out full force. The best thing he could have done was release that well before the draft.

I hold the opinion that it was a reaction, not an action. She was the aggressor. he made a mistake. He admits to it. He was young. If he repeats it again then he loses all benefit of the doubt. But that's where I stand.
I guess we'll find out in a few short weeks what will happen with the "backlash." Probably won't be with either of our respective teams unfortunately. I'd love to have him on my team...

He also went to jail and has repented. What will happen to Mixon when he gets drafted by a team and suddenly has millions of dollars and a bunch of free time as a reward. What lesson will he learn? I can cold #### a woman and I'll only lose a couple of draft slots because ability trumps morality. NFL I'm sure will love that image.
And some team is gonna make that happen. I'd just rather it not be ours.

I can look past it, but media simply won't. It will be headlines of "new evidence comes out that suggests Mixon was drinking when he hit the girl". or "Mixon accuser files secondary suit" or "Mixon tips waitress 5%, proves he hates women".
I asked the question if it will be on national tv more as a serious question... Not sure if they actually would or not. But if it made its way around the web, or we started winning and he started carrying our team, we would hear the jabs non stop from other fans, and maybe some analysts. I personally am able to get over it and am fine with him on our team... my only argument is that this wouldn't just be dropped so easily. When people want an excuse to attack our team or player, they will find it, and this video will come up again.
For the most part FBG forum users are knowledgeable about the situation and about football. Casual fans, or media that get paid to drum up controversy will have a field day. That's all I'm saying.

True. I would agree with this. I guess we will see. If it's a #### show then it can become a PR nightmare obviously. He seems to be gaining draft stock lately so I'm not sure a lot of GMs feel that way, but it all depends where he is eventually taken. He has potential to be the biggest steal of the draft IMO. Any fall out may mitigate this, but for how long that lasts is anyone's guess. I would imagine people would move on to the next thing. Now if he goes out and does this again on draft night, completely different story. I imagine the team he goes to and Joe Mixon himself will figure out a PR person to get ahead of this and have him say and do the right things to prove it happened when he was a dumb kid, one mistake, and he's moved on.Deamon said:
