*Official 2017 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Parade of Champions Down Broad Street! (4 Viewers)

I don't understand the first half of any of that.

Also the person I quoted is the girls father who he supposedly hit in high school.
Short and too the point this sounds more like a PC response by the father (Who I know was the girls father) and the lawyer who lost a case who were apparently gagged and agreed not to shame or say anything bad about Mixon if asked about the case. My buddy handles cases like that and said that response seems like typical PR play by people who were gagged after losing a case. Said he couldn't really say without seeing all the evidence if Mixon did or didn't do anything but also wouldn't rule it out. Just that the response sounded like there was an agreement by the father and anyone else in the case not to talk about the case or talk poorly about the kid.

The other point was I can understand maybe this was blown out of proportion there was an incident in my HS after graduation where an awful rumor was started about a friend attempted suiced turned out he fell doing some work on his house with dad and fell off a latter taking a wrong step. Ex who just broke up with him (He broke up with her) spreader a rumor he attempted to kill himself. Girl was a tad crazy. So I could see where maybe it was blown out of proportion being HS. But at the sametime given Mixon's past incidents since then like they say where there's smoke theres usually fire.

What lawyer do you think is talking about?  There was no trial for this HS issue. I'm not following what you and your buddy were discussing.

You said the lawyer who lost the case. All I know is what you pasted and my buddy never told me what case it was so I just thought there was a case in the hS thing. If there was no case in HS what case of losing are we talking about here?

This is nothing more then I'm not really allowed to comment about a case I went to court for. A friend of mine is a lawyer and said the dad can't really comment on the case that he lost. Probably had a gag order when he lost that he could talk about it or put Mixon's name in the bad type thing. I'm not saying anything happened but from what I heard from a lawyer friend who does cases like this sounds more of "I was told after the losing the case I can't really comment on it and if asked suppose to give some BS answer that makes the client look good" considering there's been other issues with Mixon for similar incidents I wouldn't rule out something may have happened. Also with HS can't rule out it was blown out of proportion. I mean a friend of mine broke up wth his GF right after Graduation and she spread a nasty rumor that he was in the hospital ICU because he tried to jump out of his attic window in an attempted suicide. Found out a few days later it was BS as he had only lost his phone but also had broke up with the girl who was a little too clingy and well lets just say too demanding. Either way this was way back in HS but considering his history already I wouldn't rule out anything not having happened either. We really don't know any of this story like the others on him so I really can't comment on this actually story on him other then I wouldn't just brush it aside.
Seems every post these days starts with my friend/wife is a lawyer. Does anyone not know a lawyer?

Your friend doesn't know anything about this case and if you knew anything about slander you wouldn't post gossip like it was fact.

The lawyer for Angela Molitor. That lawyer is the one who dug up this report of Mixon hitting a girl in HS. The same report you tweeted from Eskin.

The HS girls father said that was all BS and that Mixon and his daughter are still friends and he's welcome in their home anytime. Etc.

Maybe but I know people who don't know people. I'm just lucky to get these connections. For example my Buddy played LAX at FSU and many of those athletes know the athletes of other sports. His best friend was at a party with him in MIA for a college roommate for his dad's Bday (My buddy and him got real close in school and were on the LAX team together) where they were introduced by my Buddy's friend's dad was friends with the husband of the defense attorney of the DA and company who defended FSU and Winston in the rape case. Said the dude sounded very convincing but after some drinks and getting to know each other dude rambled on and bragged how they and FSU covered up the Winston rape case just so he could keep playing football. Was saying stuff like "yeah all we got to do in these instances is throw a few mill at these skanks and they stay quiet" "most of the time they are just looking for a payday so we give it to them to just shut up" "Don't get mad every school does it for their best players and because these coaches and ADs are so pressured to win especially in Football and basketball with all that revenue from Nat Titles and all they'll do anything to keep that flowing. You don't think for one ###### minute Paterno wasn't in on the whole Sandusky cover up, up north do you? You're naive if you don't the dude ran PSU up. He was Curley and Spainers boss not the other way around.: And was just rambling on how easy it was to pay people off if they saw a lot of money and other things. Doesn't know how true the cover up was but gave his wife's card to him saying if he ever has any legal issues and he's down there give her a call and tell her your buddy is friends with such and such (My Buddy's friend dad).

The whole college thing I'm not some naive fan who doesn't think even my favorite school doesn't have any skeletons but one of the huge reasons I'm totally against college athletes taking money as well. God only knows what some of these idiots would do with that money if they are making stupid decisions know. Can't trust them with that money plus I think even worse cover ups if they get in trouble would happen.

Djackson10 knows everyone, everywhere all the time. And he will Chuck Norris anyone, anytime and anywhere if you do something to someone he knows.
Geez, I'll say.

And the girl's father wasn't being quiet or sounding like he wasn't supposed to talk about it. He was very complimentary of Mixon and said that he and his daughter are still good friends. And he welcomed him into his home anytime.  That's the opposite of not being able to talk about it. That's coming right out and saying that Mixon is a good kid and he and his daughter still like him.

Now i'm following you. It could be BS but usually where there's smoke there's fire in these cases especially given Mixon's past.

You sound like you're still agitated over what I said in the Mixon debate earlier. Look I have zero respect for people like Mixon. I know the kind he is and it has ZERO TO DO WITH HIS SKIN COLOR. Guys like him act tough and act because they are some hot shot can do or get what they want He couldn't get in this girls pants so he started going after her friends she told him to stop he egged her on. He's the type of guy who'd be a school yard bully but the minute the kid he was bullying stood up for himself and jaw jacks him goes running home to mommy saying he was the victim. I have a co worker exactly likes this who's a real #####. Tries to agitate people and say stuff to get under their skin and hope they do something to get themselves in trouble. Well finally another co worker called him out on his BS and ran to our boss telling him he wanted an apology or he'd go to HR about it. Dude is nothing more then a chickens** and my other co worker gave some half assed apology just because if HR got involved he could've lost his own job over the BS. I just have zero tolerance for guys who hit women and if that was my daughter I'd press charges to the fullest and tell them to shove their plea agreement where the sun don't shine and make sure he was kicked out of the program. Guys like Mixon act they are entitled. That's whats wrong with our society today to many people think they are entitled and don't need to work for it I really rather not get into this whole debate again but thats where I stand on this issue. Lets just say if Mixon ever got a career ending injury there won't be any sympathy my way coming from him just Karma is a you know what.

He's trolling. I'm 100% sure of it.

He's been throwing them out there for a while now...

Still given the dude's history can we really rule out something may have happened? Again HS stories get overblown sure but like they say where there's smoke theres fire and with this guys history and hard to say he's innocent. I mean it's like another women coming forward and saying Trump was inappropriate with her at Miss American Pageant yrs ago. Is anyone gonna say "Oh Trump is innocent" or given the accusations and all about him already are people gonna talk about it and question his guilt. When people pay off others in large sums over accusations most of the time it's over the fact they are guilty and don't want it made public. Basically here another report is saying Mixon was involved in an incident with someone in HS. Is there anyone given his recent problems really gonna sit here and not question his innocents even if we don't know the whole story to this? Where there's smoke there's usually fire. I know it was HS but even if he did do something at that age you still know right and wrong when it comes to women. Honestly just sick and tired of the old adage and excuses for these athletes and celebs. All it does is enable them and their peers to keep doing it.

Thats funny my friend who defends these thugs says the something. Usually when people don't agree with others opinions when they think they should they resort to such comments or name calling. It's ok to not agree. I just hate when people defend these scumbags with things like their age or what did you do when you were that age or people make mistakes. Yeah people make mistakes but what he did you are taught at a young age not to do. We're just enabling kids and others like him and setting examples for our youth it's ok for them to mess up and not accept consequences for these actions. Mixon should've been kicked out of the program and in jail. Quite frankly if the NFL made a rule saying any player arrested or had a DV incident in college wasn't eligible for the NFL at all I'd be all for it. Teach these guys there's consequences for their actions. I'm all for if an athlete commits a federal crime they are banned from life from that sport or any other sport. Go have fun flipping burgers at McDonalds now. Playing pro sports is a privilege not an entitlement. Too many people defend these guys for selfish reasons. Also I don't even think the guy is that good which probably angers me more. No different then Manziel IMHO.

Ted Lange as your Bartender said:
I'm starting to hear the Eagles being linked more and more to Charles Harris at 14. I know nothing about him, so can anyone tell me if this would be a good pick or is it a classic Howie "I'm smarter than everyone else" overthink?
Who?

Here's what the father said in 2014

Hernandez's initial report said: "I know for a fact he threw my daughter to the ground and hit her. I went to the school and...they hid him in the office. He got no punishment. The police even came. I was escorted off the campus as if I did something wrong. These are simply the facts, he's a woman beater."

Quite the reversal.

Too much explaining away for a guy that's not the next Adrian Peterson. Let him be someone else's problem.

So I don't look at this thread for a week and come back and it's still "All Mixon, all the time." JFC guys can we move on?
After I blocked Djackson you don't see it as much and you can scroll much quicker

aka. Marcus Smith Jr.
Any DE we draft that "experts" didn't have near our pick is going to get this label from our "intelligent" fanbase.  I don't mean you specifically.

Harris from what I have watched doesn't appear to be an every down DE at this stage but he does seem to have the potential to be an impactful player year one as a pass rusher.  That RDE spot is currently head down by Vinnie Curry and Chris Long so he would get some PT.

This would remind me of when Seattle took Bruce Irvin a few years ago early or when Atlanta took Neal last year.  Both were "reaches" but both players had a pretty big impact for their teams early on.

I don't think Harris goes 14 but I wont be shocked if he does go top 20.

I heard Mayock yesterday talking about how his name is coming up the board because of the lack of legit pass rushers in the middle/later first round. I just don't like "out of left field" picks this late in the game. To me, that doesn't follow BPA.....it's drafting because of a need.

See and this is where we need some context.  You hear Mayock say his name is rising....how does he know the guy wasn't high on people's boards a while ago?  You normally hear people say the "media plays catch up to where NFL teams already are"...I think this is why.

BTW, The DE's IMO seem a lot better than Mayock is saying too.  You have 6 edge guys with first round grades   I'd even be good with a TJ Watt later on if they could get him.

To me, that doesn't follow BPA.....it's drafting because of a need.
And this is why I mentioned the asterisks before next to "BPA"...Hypothetically, IF Harris is a good pass rusher and can get 8-10 and a good amount of pressure while playing on passing downs THAT, (IMHO) is an impact player while maybe not being the BPA because a OT was rated higher.  At 14, we need an impact player.

More or Charles Harris from Lawlor

He sounds Trent Coleish.  His Pro day workout seemed much better then his combine.  I haven't watched game tape or anything except for highlights.  Seems like he is very quick off the snap.

He wouldn't be who I'd pick there.  So with that said it's almost a lock he will be drafted by the Eagles.  If McCaffrey was still on the board and then they picked Harris my foot would go through the flat screen.

Sounds more like Brandon Graham. Which means all we have to do is wait 6 years and we can look forward to 5.5 sacks and a bunch of pressure.

As long as it's not a guard or QB I will be ok with the pick.  The worst is watching an impact player staring us in the face and we pick some guy no one has ever heard of.  Rarely does that work out well

Only way I'd be upset is if Reuben Foster is there and they pick this Charles Harris dude. Brandon Graham / Earl Thomas 2.0

That's probably the best example of a pick we never made.  I still cannot believe we didn't take Thomas.  WTF did Andy Reid eat that morning

Notes from Douglas and Howie today:

Joe Douglas says running back, cornerback, tight end, and offensive line are really deep in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Douglas:We had Conley on our board early. Seems like public is just catching up to how he's viewed by #NFL. Has speed, great leader. #Eagles

Joe Douglas says Gareon Conley’s perceived late rise in the draft is a matter of public perception catching up to league thinking.

Joe Douglas says just Bc a position is deep doesn't mean u can get prospects late. Guys will likely go early Bc of it #Eagles

Joe Douglas says the #Eagles have considerably more draftable corners on their board than he's seen in the past

Howie (predictably) won't say if Mixon is on the Eagles' board.

Roseman notes that size of Philly media market makes having character concern players a unique challenge.

Both Joe Douglas and Howie say Joe Mixon is great RB, but that's taking character out of equation. Which is obviously in the equation.

Roseman: The RB class as a whole was a lot weaker last year than it is this year. Lots of our high graded guys went early. #Eagles

Douglas: Every RB in this class has strengths and weaknesses. Christian McCaffrey has a lot of versatility. As do other RBs. #Eagles

Joe Douglas on Christian McCaffrey skipping workouts: That's a decision for him and his family. That's not a negative in our eyes. #Eagles

Douglas: "Our system isn't based on rounds our system is based on what fits best for the Eagles"

Separate tweet for a related issue--95% of prospect "rising" is those outside the NFL gathering grades from inside the NFL. See: Charles Harris, Gareon Conley, Tyus Bowser.

Extremely excited for the schedule release.  Planning on hopefully coming to Philly this year for my first ever home game.  Have a buddy who is a Broncos fan who wants to come with me so we are planning on going to the Raiders game (So we can both be cheering for the same team and so we don't fight during the game).  Chances are a lot higher if its in November or December so if anyone hears a leak of when that Raiders game is, please post!  Fingers crossed!

He's a DE from Mizzou. Seems to be jumping up draft boards. Possible another Marcus Smith. As usually take these kinds of reports for a huge grain of salt. Kind of wish DH had his contact in the FO still because back then we could at least sort through some of the BS and determine what was good and what was being thrown up against a wall hoping it sticks.

Per BGN Local draft prospects

As they do every year, the Eagles hosted a local pro day for players from the Philadelphia area along with players who attend nearby schools (Villanova, Temple, etc.). Note that these local visits do not count against the team's 30 official pre-draft visit limit. This year the list of local players the Eagles hosted includes some of (but not limited to) the following 2017 NFL Draftprospects.

QB P.J. Walker, Temple

The 22-year-old Walker completed 56.9% of his attempts at Temple for 10,668 yards (7.3 average), 74 touchdowns, and 44 interceptions. He also ran for 771 yards and nine scores in college. Walker projects to be undrafted. The Eagles could look to sign him as a camp arm who can push for a practice squad spot.

(via Aaron Wilson)

WR Chris Godwin, Penn State

We wrote about Godwin recently.

This isn’t the first time the Eagles have shown interest in Godwin. Philadelphia also put him through a private workout earlier this offseason.

The 21-year-old Godwin measures in at 6-1, 209 pounds. In three years at Penn State, he posted 154 receptions for 2,421 yards (15.7 average) and 18 touchdowns.

Godwin projects to be a Day 2 pick. It’s expected he’ll be selected as early as the second round.

LB Brandon Bell, Penn State

We wrote about Bell earlier this offseason.

CBS Sports projects Bell to be a late Day 3 pick or a priority undrafted rookie free agent signing. The Eagles could be looking at him as a depth player who can also contribute on special teams.

Our friends over at Penn State SB Nation blog Black Shoe Diairies wrote about why Bell was arguably the team’s defensive MVP last year.

CB Taylor Reynolds, James Madison

A native of Newark, Delaware, Reynolds measures in at 6-1, 190 pounds. He had 55 tackles (5 for loss), 14 passes defensed, and two interceptions in his redshirt senior season. He projects to be undrafted.

(via Aaron Wilson)

LB Anthony Williams, Utah State

Williams is from Philadelphia which is why he attended this workout despite playing for Utah State. He measures in at 6-1, 245 pounds. Williams put up 96 tackles (6.5 for loss), two sacks, and a forced fumble during his senior season. He projects to be undrafted.

(via Aaron Wilson)

LB Austin Calitro, Villanova

Calitro measures in at 6-0, 239 pounds. In four years with the Wildcats, he had 219 tackles (26 for loss), three forced fumbles, and two interceptions. He projects to be undrafted.

(via Twitter)

S Anthony Cioffi, Rutgers

The Scarlet Knights safety reportedly runs a 4.3 40-yard dash so he has some speed. Also worked out as a wide receiver at Rutgers’ pro day. He projects to be undrafted.

(via Morning Call)

LB Najee Harris, Wagner

The 6-1, 224 pound linebacker is a native of Norristown, Pennsylvania. He projects to be undrafted.

(via Morning Call)

DE Praise Martin-Oguike

Lost two years of his college football career after being accused of rape. The charges were ultimately dropped and he was reinstated to the team. Finished with 123 tackles (27.5 for loss), 17.5 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, and one interception. Projects to be undrafted.

Thoughts Eagles trying to sign Blount?
Doesn't fit the offense but I'd love him especially as a short yardage guy. Draft another guy to develop into a starter after a year or two and Sproles will be almost gone by next year and possible Marshall maybe. Doesn't hurt to poke around though.

He'd be a good fit for a three headed monster that would let us see what we have in Smallwood.

He'd get us away from this McCaffery tripe.

If the money is right....it'd be alright.
I'm very worried they might take McCaffery. I don't think he's that good. Reminds me of a Woodhead/Sproles guy. I don't want to be that guy but it seems like the media is so desperate for a great White RB or something. The idiots on the radio a buddy told me that they argued if McCaffery was black he'd be a top 10 pick. I told him the guys on the radio wouldn't know their head from their ### if you told them which was which so you need to take what they say with a huge grain of salt. His production wasn't as in all as other guys either. If we take an RB in the first his last name better start with a C or an F.

I'd bet we'd have to throw an extra pick, probably at least a 4th.  I don't think Kendricks and Kelce's value is all that great otherwise I'd have thought they'd be gone by now.  But that's just a pure guess from a couch GM.
I think as the draft starts and guys start going off the board and other teams don't get guys a Kendrick or Kelce could be dealt. Given this draft isn't deep at Oline especially C I could see a team who loses out on one of the top Cs maybe trading for Kelce and we get an extra pick for it.

Here’s what’s we’ve heard about the Eagles’ schedule so far:

Week 3 - vs. NYG
Week 13 - at SEA
Week 14 - at LAR
Week 15 - at NYG
Uh oh, this likely means home games in w16 & w17, which are Xmas Eve and NYE. That's going to put a wrinkle in lots of family's plans...

We should get more leaks as the day goes on. Most of the leaks come like an hour or so before the Schedule is released.
